{[ColdNight Forest]}

In the forest situated nearly at the edge of the Ducky Eternelle border, a small kid was digging a hole in the middle of the forest in the middle of the night with his bare hands because he had no tools he could have used to dig the hole.

The kid was hardly even five years old but his hands were not soft like other children of his age. They were rough and hard showing this was not the first time he had done something like digging a hole.

The kid had a skinny body built with barely any body fat. If it was not for his loose clothing style everyone could have seen his ribs.

Despite being so skinny no one who would look at him could deny he was a cute child who was destined to grow into a fine man no matter what happens.

The kid's face had sharp facial features and was full of beauty. At that moment he looked rather cute than handsome but as mentioned that face was of a person who was going to be handsome/hot in the future.

The kid's short messy black-colored hair was filled with dirt, soil, dandruff, and even some bugs. No one was there to clean his hair and it was not something important to him anyways so he let his hair suffer.

The kid had dark and dull skin which was not because he was born like that but instead it was because he was left in sunlight for too long.

The kid's beautiful big red eyes had no hope in them. It was completely dull and lifeless even though it had more beauty than precious red gems.

Even though the kid's body was not noticeable at first glance because of the loose normal clothes he was wearing but when looked carefully anybody could tell he was skinny. Even his ribs would have been seen clearly if he was not wearing the clothes.

'Why am I still living?' The kid asked himself in his mind as he kept digging, 'Why should a six-year-old kid suffer this much?'

'I am hungry…' The kid's dry lips were trembling as he kept digging but suddenly those sad dried lips formed a smile. He finally found what he was looking for.

In front of his eyes were many edible wild worms. He gathered all the strength he had and killed them all with a rock close by before taking the dead worms in his hand.

He felt disgusted looking at those worms but he had no choice but to eat them. He has not eaten anything for nearly sixteen days by now. He could not be choosy in that situation.

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath before forcing the worms into his mouth and chewing them before he swallowed them.

He coughed after he swallowed the worms and nearly threw up but he somehow managed to not vomit. If he vomited all the bugs he had eaten would go out meaning he would not get their nutrition. He could not let that happen.

He put his hand on his mouth to let anything out and just force the vomit to go away before he lay on the ground panting heavily.

'God… why did I reincarnate into this world!?'

Even though the kid was 4 years old physically he was above 19 years old mentally. The soul inside the body was of a man named "Samuel" from normal planet earth.

Samuel was a man who had cancer from a young age and so his parents admitted him into a hospital. He spent most of his life in hospital while reading books and knowing more about technology before he died at the age of 19.

Samuel luckily reincarnated into a new world. A world of fantasy and infinite possibilities. On top of that, he was born as Maximilian the youngest son of the strongest human Duke Osgar!

Or… he thought he was lucky before the day of affinity check. Everyone treated him amazingly and they were happy to have him before that day.

Affinity was a term used to define talent in the world he was born in. Talent in using mana, or using aura, or using qi, or literally using any form of energy that grants supernatural powers.

Everyone in the world has an affinity for at least one energy. Even if it was a little they surely did have an affinity to one kind of energy but… Samuel, no, Maximilian did not have any affinity to any kind of energy when it was checked.

That was something that never happened in the history of the middle realm or all the three realms! Everyone who got to see the affinity check of Maximilian was left speechless and dumbfounded.

Duke Osgar or Duchess Jeanette also could not believe what happened at the moment. Even the oldest son of the family Arthur who was known to keep his calm was confused and showed his emotions at the moment.

Duke Osgar at the moment decided to hide Maximilian from the world at the edge of Ducky Eternelle inside the mansion of ColdNight forest. It was not because he was embarrassed to have a useless son but it was because he was afraid that people would use his weak son to blackmail him.

Osgar had to hide Maximilian in the most protective part and he could not think of anywhere safer than the ColdNight forest. It was a forest blessed by one of the three supreme gods. If anybody enters that forest without the permission of the Eternelle duke family they would perish instantly no matter who the person would be or how strong that person would be.

But… Maximilian did not know about it. In his eyes, he was abandoned by his own father because he became useless.

Osgar appointed multiple maids and butlers to take care of Maximilian but they all… decided to take advantage of the matter to live a luxurious life.

Some maids and butlers were nice and tried to inform the duke about the matter but they all were stopped by the corrupted servants. In reality, it was planned by corrupted advisors of Osgar but not even Osgar knew about it.

The advisors did that so they can get 60% funds given to Maximilian. It might seem small at first but only 60% of the money Maximilian got was more than 5 years' worth of their salaries combined.

But again Maximilian was unaware of that and blamed it all on his father who made him live in a hell where the maid did not even give food to him. They only gave him food when they thought he was about to die.

Maximilian only had two reasons to survive: the first one was revenge and the second was his mother… if it was not for her he would have lost his sanity a long time ago.

Duchess Jeanette secretly comes to meet Maximilian once a year on his birthday and celebrates his birthday with him. She always ended up crying by the time she had to go which made Maximilian sure she was the only one who loved him.

Once again Maximilian thought it was all done by his father. He thought Osgar did not let Jeanette meet him which was true. Osgar did not let Jeanette meet Maximilian because he was scared that if there was a spy it might be dangerous for Maximilian. He did not want to take risks at all with his son.

"God damn it…" Maximilian spoke with a voice filled with rage "If I was sent to a fantasy world you should have at least given me a cheat or something like the protagonist of novels! Whoever sent me to this world! Listen! You should give up on your dreams and die!"

«Hello to the person who is listening to me right now. I can't explain everything right now but in short, you are the one my soul chose to refine and turn into the greatest being ever. A being above all beings!»

A deep and manly voice spoke in Maximilian's mind suddenly which made him get up instinctively.

"Is... this my cheat?"
