The world few centuries ago

A long time ago, before the dinosaurs existed, there were three empires all of which worked side by side.

And I am your narrator. Welcome to the book of forbidden stories where only the universe's greatest witch or wizard can open this book.

This book comes with utter sacredness, centuries ago written by an ancient powerful witch. It is now old and tattered but the magic within it stands strong and this, this is a story about a girl who pushed her limits, dominated inequality, and rewrote history.

There were once three empires that lived together. However, imbalance strike due to injustice and a great war formed. Within them tribes, rogues formed an alliance against the three empires they once lived in. Witches that went rogue gave up their powers, werewolves neglected their inner wolves, and vampires to our despair, went suicidal. There was chaos until the fifth decade. The witches had prevailed over the werewolves that now hid in the woods. But sad to say, the vampires, decreased in number rapidly and never showed their pale faces again, in fear we'd never see a vampire ever again.

There was population imbalance and intrusion from rogues were so often that the leaders of each empire had to place a barrier barricading their empires to protect themselves. Within these empires there are tribes owned by Emperor and their Empresses. However, in the werewolf tribes there are multiple packs divided and owned by Alphas and Lunas. Wolves often fight to overtake each other's clans and till now, this separation and lack of trust for each other remains an unsolved secret.

Rogues have a hideout in the middle of our three empires, some from the empires manage to cross the barrier but some die before they even reach it. Guards patrolling the area will arrest them, however some die mysteriously and are brought back to their respective divisions, though dead, but still traitors.

The barrier protecting us can only be crossed by those who are blood related to the empires.

Some are part wolf and part witch, therefore they are able to enter the wolf and witch tribes, provided the people in the empire do not refuse them. A vampire however, requires a whole different set of rules. Vampires are known to be serial killers, taking out immense number of lives for the sake of their life span. If one enters the barriers the guards will abolish them.

This my friends, is what we call. Indifference.

I'm a witch, my parents are pure witches, or at least I thought they were. On my first year, I pledged my loyalty to the witches. On my twelfth year, my powers surfaced. My witch powers. On my sixteenth year, I finally got my destiny's prophecy. All witches have it, but for me, it's different. Mine was long and chunky, and ridiculously scary, but it was also the day I found out that my parents have been lying to me my whole life.

That day was engraved in my memory crystal clear. The prophesier of our tribe had started reading my prophecy, but before she even managed to complete it, her eyes glowed an eery green then it flickered to a crimson red, then a mystical blue, and back to green again. She shrieked, "THE CHOSEN ONE!" before the earth rumbled beneath us and the gasps of witches and wizards echoed throughout the hallways. My parents fell on their knees, faces of despair held in their hands while the leaders looked at them with the most accusing look ever. The emperor spoke, "Your presence, the presence of your child, is a burden. It is uninvited and forbidden. This will be tough for your child is a triple bred beast. She can still be raised in the right manner, but if she makes even the slightest mistake and can't prove herself right, she will be terminated, like the ones who have fought against us and brought injustice and distrust amongst us." The crowds were threatening to get rid of me but all was forgotten for the girl that had served them with loyalty had reduced their violence but not their fear of what i may become.

The full moon shone in the night lit sky. I'm mumbling to myself about the book I had read before going to bed.

At this moment, a delicious scent of... honey baked cookies... or cinnamon rolls, invades my room and aroused me from my sleep. I slowly climb out of bed and follow the smell to the kitchen.

How is mum cooking already? The sky is pitch black!

I reach to the kitchen and to my dismay, find that the kitchen is dark and empty. I look around for the source of the smell and it smells like it's coming from my backyard.

Strange... I thought. Must be our neighbors making some midnight snacks.

That is when my eyes catch a pair of beautifying sunken blue eyes. I look closer and realized to my dismay that... a... there's a...

My mind goes blank in that instance as I stared into those dreamy eyes, lost in the beauty. The glowing white radiance from its body. An undefined hunger hanging from his eyes, a yearn.

Incorrect.

It is lust. Pure lust.

It shifts right in front of me, revealing a huge line of perfect muscles. Even in the moonlight, his naked body stood glowing as his fur did. The fur that had once covered his body was replaced with an iridescent pale skin and a messy bunch of silver hair that covers his head.

I almost scream at his frightening beauty but this man is quick; he slides open the door between us, cups a hand over my mouth and then drags me out before closing the door behind us. It's near winter and summer is starting soon. I am turning eighteen by the end of half a perennial, it means I will soon be able to mate. I shiver in the cold and the low, husky voice that whispers in my ear, "Don't you dare. You're mine now." His voice was so quiet but it manages to shake every bone in my body.

Alpha! I realized with dread.

Nobody wants to mess with the Alpha. The Alpha earns his position by defeating the previous Alpha of the tribe, in most cases, is his own father. Otherwise, his father died. Speaking from how his voice is indifferent from the other werewolves I've run across, he earned it. A true Alpha can learn to assert dominance through his voice and a werewolves' voice and his howl can often be heard miles away if earned through the ferocity of a werewolf. My father taught me this and warned me to always stay far from them.

'You're right about that.' A mysterious voice echoes in my head. I wince at the unfamiliarity and a surprised look enclosed my face.

My face drains its color and I feel tears welling up in my eyes for god knows what reason. Maybe the fact that I am about to ditch the witches' empire, and will make a mistake and be executed.

No no no no no, I can't bond with a wolf!

'Get out!' I yell through our new telepathy.

'But you're mine...' He purrs and I shiver, tears sliding down my cheeks as I cower in fright. I try to scream, but the hand over my mouth stops the scream right above my throat and I sob, I choke. My parent's room light flickers and soon, the whole house lit up.

They heard and they're coming for me. A confused expression wipes across the face of the Alpha, "They can hear?" He asks me out loud. He must suspect that one of my parents must be having a super ability to hear. My dad is a wolf and a wizard after all, but he hasn't used his wolf in a long time. Word tells me he lost his powers, all except his super hearing and sight.

A voice comes from the house, dad's voice, "Aurora!"

"What!?" The Alpha seemed beyond confused, he was surprised. I could tell he was contemplating on whether to let me go or take me with him.

Eventually, the hope that sparked inside of me dimmed when he ordered, "You're coming with me." He shifts in front of me once again and I could hear the cracking of bones which doesn't seem to hurt him at all.

I take the chance to scream as he lets go of me, but in a second, a paw yanks at my shirt and dumps me onto its fluffy back.

He ran so quick, probably to rid this town before they reclaimed me. I clung on so tight but no matter how hard I grabbed at his coat, I slipped.

As I was falling off his back, I hear him muttering something under his breath, or at least I heard him from my head. Guessing from how it sounded like, it must be an advanced protection spell, which somehow, I've never heard before. Whatever he did prevented me from splitting my head on that solid ground and seemed to have left me airborne. So he is a double bred as well, which explains how he probably gained dominance over his tribe.

Just as I was about to ask the wolf which cannot speak how he did that, an invisible strap fastens my whole body onto him, knocking the breath out of me.

I cried out loud, hoping that someone could hear me, though I knew no one could, because everyone hear are witches, and pure witches have the most terrible hearing skills. No wonder the Alpha was shocked that dad could hear me.

"What are you?" I croak.

'I am the Alpha of the Elite tribe, and my name is Chase. I am a wizard too.' He uses our mate bond to communicate with me but I don't answer because I was too afraid to say a word.

In every empire, there are rules. Like for example, our names.

In the witch empire, every wizard and witch are to name their child ending with the sound 'Ah', like my name, 'Aurora' or mum's name 'Elisha' and dad's name 'Ezra'.

In the vampire empire, (love that catch) names have this hissing sound at the end, like 'Kris' or 'Bliss', it gives this eery reptilian feeling, which really matches their character too, cunning and sly.

The wolf empire have cool names, I guess... male werewolves must have names that contain the sound 'ace' or 'eek' like 'Chase' and maybe 'Daze' or 'Deke'. For females, their names end with 'y'. It's complicated, but once you dwell your whole life in it, it's normal.

Witches can be sweet and tender but they can be fierce and stern too. Vampires used to be lively and outgoing, but after the war, they turned cold and cruel. They kill their preys or enemies at sight and don't hesitate to drain their victims' blood in front of an audience even if the victim spelt the word 'innocent'. Wolves are confident and caring, but in battle, they are loyal to their pride and torturous to their enemies. Which leaves me to... I don't know.

'Stop thinking,' Chase complains, 'I can hear you, you know that?'

'Get out then!' I yell back at him.

'Your divine tantrum, ever so bad.' He laughs. Holy mama cow of a banana, he sounds like people from the past.

'You separate me from my tribe, my family, my herbs, my spells, MY FOOD! How dare you try to tame my tantrum. You are but a... pig!' I continue to throw my "divine tantrum".

'That doesn't even make sense baby.'

'Not your baby.' I simply mumble in my head. Thousands of curse words echoes through my head and I won't be surprised if Chase throws up.

'I won't throw up, my wolf will.' Chase teases, 'But right now, he's too happy that he's found you.'

'Does he have a name?' I ask, trying to ignore the annoyance in me.

'Mini chase.' I could almost here the smirk in his voice before his wolf growls and almost tosses me off his back. 'Hey! Watch it! Your mate is on your back! I don't wanna bring her back only to have to take her to the doctor.' Chase warns. The wolf growls and Chase gives in, 'This buddy's name is Cade.'

'Mhmm.' I gently rub the neck of the wolf and sigh into him. He purrs and I hear Chase huff 'I wanna shift back already.' His wolf growls in denial and Chase laughs it off. 'I'm your owner, what power do you have over me, doggy?' The wolf growls again and I find myself starting to doze off, and I really do despite all the worry that's flooding in my head. Witches will demand war against wolf but will they have rights against a mate bond? Will they be able to argue against the odds? Even so, it is my choice but not my power.
