After spending another hour with Gideon, Thordin headed back to the castle with a few guards around him. He didn't think the assassins would bother him since the boy seemed to be their only target, but that could change.
If you can't get to your target, then you target those closest to them. That was just a rule of thumb when I came to these kinds of things. This wasn't the first time Thordin had dealt with assassins, but he knew that this was different.
The boy was right for his choices, even if some made Thordin sick to his stomach. The world was changing almost faster than the old dwarf could keep up, but that was why he was going to see the king. Thordin was clearly getting too old for this job.
