Ever since last night, I've been hearing the same thing. Amethyst won't answer her phone which makes me worry. I can imagine how devastated she was when she saw Vaughn and Sasha together. If I was in her situation, I'm not likely to forgive cheating. Although I can see that Vaughn's serious about Amethyst, but still, the fact that he wasn't honest about his … whatever relationship he's having with Sasha is, I believe, some sort of cheating. Secrets aren't lies, but some secrets need to be revealed. He shouldn't have kept it in the first place. However, blaming him for his mistake won't change anything.

Amethyst didn't go home last night and I wasn't sure where to find her, because I already looked in the places where she could be right after she ran away while crying. It was raining hard last night, but at least I know how her SUV looks like and its plate number. Fortunately, the authorities responded when I called them to ask for their help and they quickly found my sister's vehicle in the river. It bothered me when the media responded too quickly as well, but eventually, I realized that it's better than nothing. The entire country knows about Amethyst missing, more or less. Our country may look small on the world map, but nowadays, it's not really easy to find a missing person. Whatever the case, I'm just hoping that she's alive. We just began to be friends after many years. I don't want to let this to go to waste.

As I head downstairs, the maid pulled the door open, revealing the girl who broke my sister's heart – Sasha. Seeing her makes my eyes burn. Hearing her voice makes my ears bleed, and lastly, seeing her in general makes my blood boil. How much more now that she created a serious damage? I can't even see her as a human anymore. I feel drained when I start hating a person, but how can I possibly not? I hate the feeling of hatred, I really do. But I can't help but feel it.

Amethyst never did anything that can ruin Sasha. She exerted effort just to be kind to her, unlike me. Now, this is how Sasha repays her. Amethyst doesn't deserve this.

Sasha stood still as if frozen. She couldn't look directly in my eyes, because I'm more than sure that she knows that vengeance is the only thing I have in mind right now.

A few moments later, she walked past me, as if ignoring my existence, trying to keep her cool. Of course, I can't just let her pass. Without any second thought, I pulled her arm with force, tightening my grip on her arm. I buried my nails into her skin and oddly enough, the feeling was so satisfying.

She winced but didn't fight back, for she knows that she's not in the position to.

"Guilty as charged, pip-squeak? We both know what's going on. Everything is your fault. If you never broke Amethyst's heart, none of these would happen," I narrowed my eyes, the corners of my lips curving down. "Of course, you're probably more than happy that she's missing. But anyway, even if you did that scandalous thing, you'll never have Vaughn anyways. In fact, you just created a reason for him to hate you even more. He's getting married, yet you ruined everything. Everything!" I yelled in front of her face, making her squeeze her eyes shut in fear.

Sasha forcefully released herself from me and began saying her side. "Can we … Can we talk about this formally in my room? Please, I don't want anyone else to hear about this."

I faked a laugh. "You're afraid of the others to know about it? The CCTV cameras in this house never lie. If you want to see the footage of everything that you've done, then go watch it. I kept my mouth shut, but surely, mom and dad already know what you've done. Good luck." I rolled my eyes as I gave her the last look.

As soon as Sasha ran away in shame upstairs, mom steps out of the kitchen and walked to the living room where I'm standing. She's holding my cat Shawn in her arms; and I read from her eyes that she feels lost, worried, upset – her expression reflects a pain that I can't imagine. Sadness clouded her features, which somehow affects how I feel. The feeling of rage fades that turned into sadness.

She put Shawn down and the walking fluff ran straight to me. I picked it up and secured it in my arms as I run my hand in its fur.

"I don't understand," my mother said while staring at nowhere. "Amethyst … my daughter …" tears began pooling her eyes. A few moments later, the tears flowed, turning her to a human faucet.

"Where is she now? What could've happened to her? What if she's drowned? What if someone else took her body or whatsoever? What if she died in that car accident? What if –" I put my cat down and pulled her into a hug, cutting her off. She rested her head on my shoulder, handling her own weight to me as she continued pouring it all out. "My… dear Amethyst…"

I can understand now why she can't speak any word. Amethyst has always been mom's favorite, and on the other hand, I'm dad's favorite. We're all sad about this, but even if crying helps, it has never been a part of the solution. At this rate, being strong is needed, sticking together and do whatever it takes to have Amethyst back.
