Chapter One : The Beginning

Once upon a time, in a faraway kingdom. There live a gentle King and a powerful Queen. The wise and gentle King is always been loved by their subjects. He works hard to maintain the balance of power in their kingdom.

While the powerful Queen is always been feared by the people. She was once the General of their army leading their soldiers to victory. She was the one in charge of keeping the kingdom peaceful and safe. Yet the people have always feared her power.

You see not only the Queen is physically strong, but she was also born with magical power. That only fuels the fear in their hearts. Despite the way they look at her, the Queen remains kind to them.

Years passed by, and the nobles are all restless.

For their King and Queen have yet to have an heir. They tried everything they can but... nothing happened.

Their hopes are slowly dimming until one day... A fairy appears in front of the royals. The fairy claims that she can help them with their problem.

"I can help you bear a child your majesty," she spoke with such a light tone as she lowers her head to them in respect.

The King and Queen accept the fairy's help, offering riches beyond imagination.

"Our kingdom holds more treasure than others! Just tell us what you need, and we will give it to you."

"I only need one thing, your majesty. Dearest Queen, it's your power that I seek," she declared as her eyes twinkle in delight.

A baffled look cross the Queen's face as she turn to ask the Fairy.

"For what reason do you need my power? When you claim you are the most powerful Fairy! Are all your words merely a lie?"

A giggle escape from the lips of the Fairy as her eyes twinkle in amusement.

"You need my help for you to bear a child and yet you dare question me? If you don't need any help then I should get going."

Turning her back against them, her glittering wings flutter softly behind her back as her golden locks gently sway in her movements. She has a mesmerizing look that can capture anyone's attention.

Glancing at one another, the Queen gave her husband a nod as the King spoke halting the Fairy from leaving.

"Hold on... I apologize if you find our question a bit unappealing. We are merely curious as to why is that the payment for your help? After all, we can offer you riches that beyond a man can have."

The King's gentle tone melted the cold glare in the Fairy's eyes. It seems even a Fairy most powerful as she can still be weak to such pure kindness.

She took a deep breath calming herself before letting out a sigh, "I cannot say my reason for it. However, that is the only payment I require. If you are unwilling to do it, then have it your way."

The King and Queen, glance at each other as a moment of silence befall them. In the end, their longing to have a kid weighs more than their curiosity. The Queen agreed to give her power to the Fairy.

The snow began to fall, and spring soon followed... A year after the fairy left, the Queen soon gave birth to a healthy baby girl.

The baby was born with soft blonde hair as shiny as the sun's rays. Her gentle blue eyes are as clear as the blue sky. And laughter as sweet as honey.

The whole kingdom rejoices for the heir was finally born. The King and Queen happily wept as they gazed lovingly at their sweet baby girl.

Years passed by quickly, and it was soon the Princess' fourth birthday. She was raised lovingly by her parents and surrounded by people who treasure her.

"Ah~! Our Princess is really adorable~!"

"Your Highness this is my gift for you~!"

"Your Highness-!"

Everyone praises her for her beauty and treats her as a miracle baby. The citizens all live in bliss knowing that the future of their kingdom is now secured the moment the miracle baby was born.

That is until the day of the Princess' birthday has come...

The kingdom received a surprise attack by a large group of mercenaries. The sound of explosions can be heard throughout the Kingdom as citizens scream and flee in terror.

The knights scattered everywhere to pursue the attackers, as they tried to protect the ballroom where the party was being held.

The reason why the attack is a great surprise for them is because... they had become too independent of the strong barrier that their Queen have created.

She created it using her power, and it has been protecting their kingdom ever since.

However... they have forgotten that the barrier disappeared the moment their Queen gave her power away.

In the end, the Knights have managed to subdue them, in exchange... They failed to protect their most beloved Princess from being captured.

During the commotion, no one noticed that the little Princess managed to slip away from the Queen's side and left the room, only for her to be captured by the attackers.

When they finally noticed their missing daughter, the Queen ran away from the King's side to help find her daughter. With the King's order, all the available knights are to find and secure their Princess.

They search high and low, not sparing a single effort to try and get their Princess back.

However... they weren't expecting the terrain that the attackers went into to be full of monsters. Half of their group was lost because of the monsters. They didn't have any choice but to go back to their Kingdom empty-handed... despite the protest of their Queen.

Seasons passed by, year after year... The traces of their attackers have vanished. It left the Queen heartbroken and desperate to find her.

Until her body gave in... Their once-powerful Queen has become bedridden with her body slowly getting weaker as days passed by.

The King was forced to steel his heart to protect his Queen and to continue finding her Princess. Despite the nobles pleading for him to have a mistress, he rejects them all with a cold hard glare.

There is no way that he will have someone else in his bed when he can't even help his Queen.
