Chapter 39

Days continued passing by. And finally, it's our graduation day! I'll be saying goodbye to my SHS days and soon, I'll say, hello College life!

I graduated with flying colors. I am one of those students who is awarded the highest honors. If Sun's alive, he probably got the same award as mine. And, I smiled with that thought.

Veai also graduated with honors and...Hillary, too. I took a deep breath as I headed through her, "Hillary," I called her attention and when she turned her back to face me, I said, "congrats!"

"Thank you, Sky, congrats din," she said, smiling. "Sige, ha, may picture taking pa kami, eh," she then went back to her friends.

I sighed.

We never did have a long conversation. Tuluyan naming iniwasan ang isa't isa. We're just greeting each other when our path crossed. Kapag may groupings sa room at saktong magkagrupo kami lagi siyang nakikipagpalit sa iba. And, when she finally got some friends, I was forgotten. She looks at me like I'm just a stranger. I don't know who should I blame why we ended up like this. But, I am always praying that I'll be with Hillary again, the Hillary I used to know, the Hillary who said she'll never leave my side, the Hillary I was befriended with.

"Sky, tara na," Mom said and I followed her immediately.

Hillary's POV

I looked at him, who is now heading through his parents. If only he knew how much I miss him, he'll probably be smiling again like he's in Cloud9.

I wiped away my tears. Sorry, can't hold it.

I got some friends now, but no one could ever replace Sky. He's my first friend here in IPC and that will always be remembered. I promise that when Veia's heart finally gets healed, I'll talk again with Sky. Pinagbigyan ko na siya sa hiling niya na makasama ang best friend niya, siguro naman enough na 'yong ilang buwan kong pag-iwas tapos pwede ko nang makausap ulit si Sky.

Alam kong magkakausap pa talaga kami, dito naman magkacollege si Sky at dito rin ako magpapatuloy sa pag-aaral. Kaya ipinapangako ko talaga, babalik ako bilang kaibigan niya.

Sky's POV

Whole summer I guess I'm just with Veia. Halos araw-araw talaga kaming magkasama. Pakiramdam ko nagbalik kami sa dating kami-best friends.

We often talk about Sun, pero parang hindi na talaga siya nasasaktan na wala na ang kakambal ko. A part of me is happy about it, pero may part din na nalulungkot at naguguluhan. Aren't my Twin's special for her? Why she'd easily forgot his death? Or, she really just moved on so fast?

Argh! Never mind, Sky! Stop thinking about nonsense sh*t.

"Vee, enrollment is about to come, nasabi mo na ba sa Mama mo na BSBA ang kukunin mong course?" I asked, all of a sudden, while we're eating these pancakes that Mom has made.

"Oo," she then continued eating, "nagalit sa umpisa, muntik pa akong masampal nang sumagot-sagot ako, buti na lang sa huli napapayag ko rin," she uttered.

I smiled and said, "I'm happy for you. Don't worry sabay tayong mageenroll para kahit sa minor subjects lang magkaklase pa rin tayo."

"Hala, oo nga! Magkaiba 'yong major subjects natin," she's somehow sad when she muttered that.

"Don't worry, matalino naman 'tong best friend mo, tutulungan kita kapag may 'di ka naintidihan."

"Talaga? Eh, ang layo-layo ng Business Ad. sa program na kukunin mo, Sky, huwag kang feeling diyan, ha."

"Tss. Trust me. Aaralin ko 'yan."

"Talaga lang."

"Syempre naman, para sa'yo."

She'd suddenly stared at me and I won't be lying, it placed me in awkwardness.

"Ang sweet naman ng best friend ko," she uttered after a minute and eats another pancake.

Twin, I'm sorry, but I am still hoping for that 'best friend' to turned into 'boyfriend'. I'm sorry, Sun, please forgive me, but I really can't stop myself for falling into her.

I am here at the garden, watching how Yaya Minda watered the plants and I was amazed that she's singing while watering it. How cute Yaya Minda is.

"Sky!" I was startled when someone hugged me from behind. Hindi ko alam kung ilang segundo akong nastatwa, "gala tayo?" she asked.

"H-Ha?" sh*t, could she take off her hands? K-Kanina pa 'ko 'di makahinga ng maayos! I suddenly looked at Yaya Minda when I heard her giggled, and she's now teasing me by just seeing her looks. Tsk!

And finally, kumalas na rin siya sa pagkakayakap sa'kin at nagpunta siya sa harapan ko, "gala tayo tapos bumili na rin tayo ng school's supplies. Two weeks na lang pasukan na," aniya.

Tumango ako agad, "s-sige," I replied.

"Sige, magbihis ka na, hintayin kita sa living room niyo," she was about to leave, but I called her again, "p-para sa'n 'to?" she asked while raising the sunflower I gave.

Tsk, ba't mo ba kasi ibinigay 'yan, Sky?!

"W-Wala lang. I-I just want to give it to you," damn that stuttering!

"Dahil katerno ng damit ko? Ikaw talaga, Sky!" she then burst in laughter.

"Hahaha!" I faked a laugh! Tsk, "s-sige na, hintayin mo 'ko sa living room, ha?"

"Sige. Thank you rito, sobrang ganda," she said, smiling, before she finally leaves.

"Mana sa'yo," I said out of myself.

"May espesyal talaga sa babaeng 'yon," Yaya Minda suddenly said. "Mukhang hindi sila ang itinakda ng kakambal mo, Sky," she added.

"P-Po?" I asked with confusion.

"Baka kayo ang itinakda."

S-Sh*t! HOW I WISH!

"Si Yaya talaga kung anu-anong iniisip," 'yan na lang 'yong sinabi ko saka ako pumasok at nagpuntang kwarto.

Yaya's words suddenly flashback in my mind. Then, I sighed.

If we're meant to be, that will surely happen!
