Thick Of It

Jason's POV

My day started like anyone else's. I reached for my phone to check the time and—of course—I was running late for work. Great. If I didn't get moving right away, I'd have my boss breathing down my neck again. But, honestly? I didn't want to go. Who does? Still, this is the cursed world we live in—no money, no food. You work to survive, even if it feels like the soul is sucked right out of you every day.

After dragging myself out of bed, I got ready and headed out. While on the way, I scrolled through Instagram, killing time with reels and news. It's all the same stuff, really—pop culture drama, influencers beefing, and the occasional meme that makes you exhale slightly harder. Today, it was about XQC and Kai Cenat. They were going at it, apparently. What about? No clue. Something stupid, probably. Beef like that doesn't last long. Still, it's the kind of thing that holds everyone's attention for a few days.

Before I knew it, my bus arrived. I stood in line, earbuds in, half-tuned out, just waiting for my turn to board. That's when it happened.

A truck. A massive truck barreling down the road. It came out of nowhere, skidding, screeching, and then—impact.

It hit me.

One moment, I was upright, and the next, I was airborne. My body flailed like a ragdoll before slamming into the asphalt. Pain. The kind of pain you don't even think exists until it's ripping through every nerve in your body. My flesh tore open on the rough pavement, and blood sprayed everywhere like a grotesque fountain.

And then, the infamous life flashback. They say it happens when you're on the edge. Turns out, they're right.

It wasn't bad, my life. Not great either—just... average. No grand adventures or stories to tell. It's the kind of life you get when you're not rich or living in some developed utopia. My experiences? Standard fare for a nobody like me.

But now, none of it matters. Not anymore.

I found myself standing in a surreal place—an endless expanse of white, the floor beneath my feet soft and pillowy like clouds. Above me stretched a perfect sky, the sun glowing warmly, radiating peace. It was serene, like I had reached the final destination a soul was meant to find. Not the end of a race, but the end of everything. The kind of place that made you feel like one step forward would bring eternal rest.

Just as I prepared to move, everything changed. The serene white around me turned an ominous shade of purple, and I froze. Behind me, I felt a presence. Slowly, I turned, dread building as I locked eyes with him.

There he was. White hair, piercing blue eyes, and an aura that screamed power. Gojo Satoru.

I panicked, knowing exactly where this was going. "No! No!! NO!!! Don't do it, you motherf—!" My scream broke into action as I turned and bolted, running as far and as fast as my legs could carry me.

"Oi, Jason!" I heard his voice echo, laced with that maddening smugness. "What's the problem? Weren't you the one calling me Kit Kat in the comments section, huh? Why run now, huh, bitch?"

"It was funny, man!" I shouted back, not daring to stop.

Gojo's response was immediate and inevitable: "Here the reward then ,Hollow Purple."

In an instant, everything turned purple again. A surge of power blasted through the air, and I could do nothing but brace myself. and everything goes silent .

Before I could fully comprehend what was happening, Gojo was there, grabbing me by the collar and lifting me effortlessly.

"Now, what happened to that big, blabbering mouth of yours, huh?" His grin was anything but friendly.

"It was just the IG comments, man!" I stammered, my voice shaky. "I thought it made me sound cool!"

Gojo cocked his head, his grin widening. "Now you're trying to defend yourself? You little shits have been running your mouths without consequence for far too long. It's time to take responsibility. And I've got just the way to do it."

"What... what are you talking about?" I asked, dread pooling in my stomach.

"Oh, it's simple. I'm gonna isekai your ass," he said, laughing maniacally. "Marvel? DXD? Harry Potter? Pick your poison—either way, you're getting killed or experimented on. Hahahaha!"

"NO! Those worlds are way too hardcore!" I begged. "Wait—did you become a god or something?"

Gojo smirked. "Of course. If not me, then who else? Honestly, I'd send you to some goblin-infested world as a helpless female villager, but I'm saving that for the truly deranged ones."

"Thank God," I muttered under my breath. "But please, at least give me a cheat or something! I need to survive!"

Gojo's grin was pure malice. "A cheat? Nah."

"Please!" I cried, my desperation spilling over. "I also called Sukuna a fraud! Please, sir, don't be like this—I'll do anything!"

Gojo paused, tapping his chin mockingly. "Well, since you called Sukuna a fraud... I'll be generous. I'll give you a system."

Relief flooded through me. "Yes! Thank you! What kind of system?"

Gojo's smile turned downright devilish as he leaned in close. "Gacha."

"No! No, no, no—take that back, you psycho!" I shouted, thrashing against his grip.

Gojo simply laughed and tossed me into a swirling portal. "Good luck, Jason. You're gonna need it."

And with that, I was gone.
