Chapter 109

In place of Baki, a rock appeared.

Gluttony's arm clamped down on the stone.

In the next instant—

Gluttony's arm exploded into pieces. 

He only felt the pain after half of his arm was obliterated.

"Aaaaah!"

The memory of his head exploding resurfaced.

"It's that explosive ability!"

The intense pain and haunting memory of his head detonating filled Gluttony with fury. He became frenzied.

A figure came into view—it was Killer Queen.

Standing alongside Hanma Baki, the two of them flanked Gluttony from both sides.

Gluttony glared furiously.

"Another nen beast?"

"A new Specialist-Type user?"

"Is this nen beast the source of the explosions?"

This was Gluttony's immediate suspicion.

He doubted a single Nen user would divide their energy among multiple Nen beasts. Focusing on one would be far more effective.

Besides, if both of these Nen beasts belonged to the same user, why hadn't this second one appeared sooner?

Killer Queen picked up a rock from the ground and threw it at Gluttony.

He quickly dodged.

Simultaneously, Baki charged at him.

The two nen beasts coordinated their attacks on Gluttony.

Gluttony, cautious of Killer Queen's explosive power, had to split his focus, which left him vulnerable against Baki.

Distracted, he soon found himself at a disadvantage.

Together, the two nen beasts completely overwhelmed Gluttony.

Gluttony's expression darkened, his irritation growing.

"Who exactly is this?" 

He was being suppressed and frustrated by the situation. This outcome was entirely unexpected. 

He had come here to carry out a simple mission and had picked up a side job. 

"Could there really be someone this powerful behind the Divine Heart Dojo?" 

"No, that's impossible!" 

"If someone like that existed, why would they let the Divine Heart Dojo be destroyed right before their eyes?" 

"Could it be Kyler?" 

"That's even less likely." 

"Someone as weak as Kyler couldn't have provoked someone like this." 

Gluttony couldn't make sense of it. 

Everything had been going smoothly, so easily. But now, Sloth was dead. 

Kyler wouldn't survive either. 

And now, Gluttony was being suppressed. If he couldn't find a way to break this deadlock, he might end up just like Sloth—dead in this city.

"Damn those Specialist-Type nen users!" 

"Fighting with nen beasts while hiding in the shadows." 

"Such dishonor!" 

Just then, a rock came flying toward him. Gluttony dodged, giving Hanma Baki the opening he needed.

"Whip Strike!"

Baki's arm transformed into a flowing whip of water, striking Gluttony fiercely. 

A deep dent immediately formed in Gluttony's body.

Gluttony glared at Baki, ready to pounce at him again, but Killer Queen threw another stone. 

Gluttony was forced to dodge again.

"I can't keep doing this," Gluttony thought. "If I continue like this, I won't win. I'll just be worn down and die here."

"No, this can't continue."

"I have to find a way out!" 

His gaze shifted to Killer Queen. 

Gluttony knew Baki's strength well.

Even if he found a few openings, it wouldn't be easy to kill him. 

But Killer Queen—since appearing, Killer Queen had stayed at a distance, throwing stones and using explosive power.

"I'll take out that one first," Gluttony decided.

Gluttony made his decision. 

He braced himself, taking a full blow from Hanma Baki and taking advantage of that force he swiftly turned his body, charging toward the direction of Killer Queen without losing any speed.

Killer Queen picked up a stone and hurled it toward Gluttony.

Despite his massive size, Gluttony moved with surprising agility, dodging the stone as he continued his relentless charge toward Killer Queen.

Just as he was about to reach her, his giant mouth opened wide, aiming to swallow Killer Queen whole.

Half of Killer Queen's body was already inside Gluttony's mouth when—

*Crack!*

Baki snapped his hands together.

In the next instant, the positions of Killer Queen and the stone she had thrown swapped places.

"What?" Gluttony's eyes widened in shock.

He had already witnessed Hanma Baki's ability to swap positions before, but he never imagined it could be used in this way.

It was incomprehensible. How could a nen beast's ability be this complicated?

A silent explosion erupted inside Gluttony's mouth.

A tremendous shockwave blasted outwards. The stone bomb was completely obliterated, while the rest of Gluttony's body suffered a huge impact.

Blood and flesh flew in all directions.

Killer Queen stabilized herself quickly and, without hesitation, picked up another stone.

She threw it, hitting her target.

*Boom!*

Another explosion.

She picked up yet another stone.

*Boom!*

Baki stood beside Killer Queen, not approaching but allowing her to continue using her abilities.

Finally, Gluttony's life force began to wane. The vitality of his blood and flesh diminished rapidly.

Gluttony's heart was filled with intense regret.

He regretted ever making a move against Baki. 

He regretted devouring Sloth.

If he had just run away and let Sloth take the heat, he might have had a chance of surviving.

But even more than regret, Gluttony felt a deep sense of confusion.

He couldn't understand how he had attracted such formidable enemies.

Ron, watching the surveillance screen, saw that Gluttony's energy had vanished, leaving only a trace of Kyler's energy. That too, was faint and would extinguish any moment.

Kyler regained a little consciousness.

Baki and Killer Queen came into Kyler's view.

Kyler's pupils contracted.

"Is that Ron?" 

Kyler recognized Killer Queen. He had seen her at the Sky Arena.

"How is this possible?"

Kyler's face twisted in disbelief.

"How could Ron be this powerful?"

"Or is this Ron's ally?"

"But why would Ron go this far for Lina?"

"They didn't have any kind of relationship."

"Why?"

Kyler would never have the answers to these questions, as he would never have the chance to ask them. 

The moment Gluttony engulfed Kyler, their fates became intertwined.
