Chapter 77: The Best Hunters Often Disguise Themselves as Prey

Li Yuqing glanced at Zeng Shen and said, "Don't listen to him; I lost track of time while doing my makeup, so I was a few minutes late coming downstairs."

"It's fine; I know Shen is just joking," Alice said, extending her hand to Li Yuqing. "I'm Alice. You're even more beautiful than the photos Zeng Shen showed me."

Surprised by Alice's easygoing nature, Li Yuqing felt an immediate sense of camaraderie. She shook Alice's hand and introduced herself, and then the three of them sat down.

Zeng Shen took out his phone to scan the menu and order a variety of dishes while listening to the two women discuss how they each met him.

As they chatted, the atmosphere among the three became relaxed and friendly.

Soon, the skewers they ordered were served.

Zeng Shen looked at Alice, who had a hint of a smile in her eyes. Understanding her intent, he nodded, "Sure, let's have some drinks."

Li Yuqing beamed at his approval and started discussing with Alice how much they could drink.

"I usually stop after six or seven bottles; otherwise, I'll get drunk," Alice admitted.

"Six or seven bottles, huh? That's about the same as me. Let's order two cases, and we can return any we don't finish," Li Yuqing suggested.

"Sounds good," Alice agreed.

Before long, bottles of pineapple, blueberry, and strawberry-flavored cocktails were placed on the table.

As they drank, the conversation flowed more freely, and Alice took the opportunity to talk about the events during her and Zeng Shen's trip to Tonghai.

"So you're saying that the prefabricated food factory investment was actually my husband's idea, but he didn't want his parents to know he suddenly had billions, so he asked you to help?" Li Yuqing asked.

"Honey, you invested in our hometown's development without telling me. You owe me a drink for that," Li Yuqing teased, pointing to Zeng Shen's glass.

"It was a spur-of-the-moment decision," Zeng Shen explained, downing a glass of cocktail, feeling the warmth spread through him.

Li Yuqing cheered as he drank, "Great job, hubby! Since you're investing in the hometown's factory, does that mean you'll be visiting often?"

"Yes, I need to go with Xiao Ai tomorrow to finalize the site. I'll probably spend a lot of nights at Huayang Village," Zeng Shen explained, setting up an excuse for future absences from Jinhai.

"Well, in that case, you focus on the factory, and Tongtong and I will hire someone to help us with shooting and editing videos," Li Yuqing said.

"What kind of videos?" Alice inquired with a smile.

Li Yuqing then explained about their studio.

"Oh, I love making videos. If you can't find anyone, you can message me. If I'm free, I can help you shoot," Alice offered.

"That would be wonderful, Alice! Thank you, I'll drink to that," Li Yuqing said, raising her glass and clinking it with Alice's.

Zeng Shen joined in, "Alice is even better at editing than I am. You can ask her for help when you're done filming."

"Wow, Alice can edit too? I hope it's not too much trouble," Li Yuqing said.

"It won't be," Alice assured, "Once Longshen Group's recruitment is complete and the new city project is on track, I'll have more free time."

"Great, thank you so much, Alice," Li Yuqing said, raising her glass again.

As the conversation continued, encouraged by Li Yuqing's and Alice's subtle nudges, they drank more and more.

After finishing two cases of cocktails, Li Yuqing got up to settle the bill and then suggested to Alice, "Would you like to visit our studio?"

Alice, appearing tipsy and hazy, responded, "Where? The studio? Sure, let's go."

Li Yuqing's eyes sparkled with excitement as she looked at Zeng Shen, who seemed half-asleep and drunk. She wrapped her arm around his and Alice's, leading them out of the restaurant as if capturing two prey.

Back at the studio, Li Yuqing guided them straight to her bedroom.

With the hangover pill taking effect, Zeng Shen was almost sober by the time they reached the bedroom. Still, he pretended to be drunk, snoring lightly as soon as Li Yuqing helped him onto the bed.

A few seconds later, he cracked open an eye to observe what Li Yuqing and Alice were doing.

The sight almost made him open his eyes fully.

Lying next to him, Li Yuqing and Alice were unaware of his sly observation.

Half an hour later, Alice suddenly said to Li Yuqing, "As a token of exchange, I want to relieve my desires with your husband."

"Uh," Li Yuqing was momentarily taken aback but then chuckled, "So, Alice, you've secretly liked my husband all along?"

"Yes, is it okay if I have him?" Alice asked.

Li Yuqing thought for a moment, "Just this once, but if I want to play with you in the future, you have to agree."

"Just once? That's a bad deal."

"Not really. I don't want my husband or you sneaking behind my back. So if you want more, we have to drink and make him blackout so he doesn't remember anything," Li Yuqing explained.

Alice nodded, "So that's why you kept drinking earlier."

"Shh," Li Yuqing put a finger to her lips, indicating Alice to play along.

Watching for a while, Li Yuqing couldn't resist joining in.

Sensing the moment was right, Zeng Shen suddenly sat up, looking at the two women.

Li Yuqing jumped in surprise, flustered, "Hubby, I..."Zeng Shen smiled inwardly, pretending to be drunk, and pointed at them, "Hmm, how come there are two of you, honey? Haha, I get it, you can clone yourself."

Li Yuqing quickly played along, "Yes, hubby, I can clone myself now. Are you happy? Do you want this?"

With that, Zeng Shen feigned confusion, reaching for Alice and pulling her down before embracing her, ready to take action.
