Aurora held Casey's gaze, searching her expression. "I thought Olivia was your best friend. Why would you betray her?"
Casey let out a faint, knowing smile, though a flicker of disappointment crossed her face. She had hoped Aurora would jump at the chance to bring Olivia down, but she answered calmly.
"That bond is long gone," she replied with a shrug. "You saw what happened at her bachelorette party. I messed up, sure, but I apologized. Olivia slapped me, refused to forgive me, and even cut me out of her bridal party entirely. And now, she has turned our other friends against me."
Aurora's eyes narrowed slightly. "So, you're betraying her over that?"
"It's not just about that," Casey replied quickly. "Olivia's not exactly the friend I thought she was. I know I made a mistake, but her punishment was too harsh. So, since she's done with me, I'll take the chance to turn things around… and do something that actually matters."
