Time flies like an arrow, and the months passed swiftly.
Three months had flown by.
In the first month, Zuzong and Xiao Wu, along with the mixed Emperor Team, successfully earned the Silver soul Badge.
Over the next two months, Zuzong and Xiao Wu formed a duo soul fighting team named "Zong Wu."
During these months, Zuzong and Xiao Wu both achieved the title of Gold Soul Fighter, maintaining an undefeated record in their individual matches.
It's worth mentioning that the day after their fight with the Mad Battle Team, Zuzong had a one-on-one soul fight with Yu Tianheng. Yu Tianheng was brimming with fighting spirit , and Zuzong was no less determined.
At that moment, Yu Tianheng, without the aid of immortal grass, was stronger than Dai Mubai. Under Zuzong's basic Blue Silver Emperor form with its "Blue Silver Binding" ability, Yu Tianheng was able to hold his ground.
His dragon-clawed lightning strikes were formidable, ripping Zuzong's Blue Silver Emperor vines to shreds at one point. It was only after Zuzong used his "Second soul Ability: Blue Silver Blade" that he finally knocked Yu Tianheng off the stage.
Even so, Yu Tianheng's performance proved the power of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon martial soul.
Of course, Zuzong was only using the basic form of the Blue Silver Emperor. If he had unleashed the "Extreme Flame Blue Silver Emperor" infused with the child flame of "Gold Emperor Incinerating Heavenly Flame" Yu Tianheng's lightning would have been no match.
Additionally, just a few days ago, Zuzong advanced another level in soul power. The speed at which he was cultivating the "Nine Yang Divine Technique" was astonishing, and when paired with his fire-infused Blue Silver Emperor, it was no exaggeration to call his progress rapid.
In less than three months, he had advanced from level 38 to level 39—a rate of growth so fast that others would scarcely believe it.
In his spare time, Zuzong would sneak off to a secluded, sparse forest near Shrek Academy to meet with his "little kitten" in secret.
During this time, much like in the original story, Yu Xiaogang was putting the Shrek students through grueling training. Every time Zuzong met with his kitten, she was always exhausted, lying weakly in his arms to rest. This made Zuzong's heart ache, so he would use his Nine Yang Divine Technique to nourish her body. But he also knew that as long as she endured the training, it would only benefit her in the long run, so he accepted it with a sigh.
One evening, the two were lying together on a large rock, as usual.
She rested in his arms as they gazed at the stars. The moonlight shone softly, casting a hazy, dreamlike glow over everything, like a thin veil of silk obscuring the view.
A shooting star streaked across the sky, and Zuzong gently said, "Make a wish, quickly."
Zhu Zhuqing glanced at him, "We're not kids anymore. You still believe in making wishes on shooting stars? That's just something adults tell you to fool you when you're young."
Zuzong's lips twitched awkwardly, "Doesn't the book say that when a couple sees a shooting star together, making a wish is romantic?"
"What nonsense have you been reading?" Zhu Zhuqing said, but she still sat up, clasped her hands together, interlocked her fingers, and closed her eyes to make a wish.
Moments later, after making her wish, Zhu Zhuqing opened her eyes again to find the shooting star had disappeared.
But there was something familiar in front of her: Zuzong's face. Their eyes met, and under the moonlight, she realized Zuzong had moved closer to her at some point.
Feeling the masculine energy radiating from him and his warm breath on her face, Zhu Zhuqing blushed slightly, her voice carrying a hint of shyness, "Why are you staring at me like that?"
"So beautiful," Zuzong muttered, almost unconsciously.
Upon hearing this, even Zhu Zhuqing's breathing became heavier. Her heart raced, and her blood surged.
Neither of them said anything further. The night was quiet, even the insects had stopped chirping. Alone, under the moonlight, the atmosphere between them grew increasingly intimate.
Everything fell into place naturally. Zuzong gently tilted Zhu Zhuqing's chin, and without needing a cue, their lips slowly drew closer together.
After a long moment, their lips parted. Zhu Zhuqing's face was flushed as she panted in Zuzong's arms. Even though they had kissed dozens of times in the past few months, Zhu Zhuqing still found herself overwhelmed each time.
Brushing aside Zhu Zhuqing's hair, Zuzong softly asked, "Zhuqing, can you tell me what you wished for?"
"I..."
Before she could finish speaking—
Crack A branch broke not far away, and a figure fell from the tree.
"Ouch, my butt!" A pained female voice came from the figure.
Startled, the two quickly separated. This compromising position would definitely lead to misunderstandings. They approached to get a closer look at the person.
"Ning Rongrong?" Both of them exclaimed in unison.
Zuzong frowned slightly. This spot had been their secret meeting place for the past two months, and usually, it was so secluded that even during the day, few people came by—occasionally, a villager would pass through to gather firewood. He hadn't been particularly vigilant tonight.
Never had he expected that someone had been hiding here for so long without him noticing. Thankfully, it wasn't an enemy, or things could have gone badly.
"Love really does dull the senses," Zuzong thought to himself.
Zuzong spoke up, "Miss Ning, what exactly were you doing hiding here?"
"I-I was just here to look at the moon, yes, that's right! I came to watch the moon," Ning Rongrong stammered, rubbing her sore backside. Her speech was hesitant and clearly a poor excuse.
Zuzong's mouth twitched. This girl was terrible at lying. He exchanged a glance with Zhu Zhuqing, then pretended to be serious and said, "Zhuqing, it seems Miss Ning has been here for quite some time. Since she enjoys watching the moon so much, how about I use my martial soul to lift her a hundred meters into the sky so she can get a closer look?"
Zhu Zhuqing shot Zuzong a fierce glare. What a devious guy. But she also remembered how Ning Rongrong had teased her in the past, so she played along with the joke. "Good idea! Since Rongrong is my dear friend, we should help her get closer to the moon."
Hearing this, Ning Rongrong panicked. She quickly waved her free hand, "No, no! This is fine right here!"
Zuzong grinned mischievously. "No need to be polite."
As he spoke, he gathered soul power in his right hand, summoning the Blue Silver Emperor vines. He looked like he was about to tie her up.
Seeing the Blue Silver Emperor vines creeping toward her, Ning Rongrong's face changed dramatically. She realized they were serious.
"Zhuqing, help me!" Ning Rongrong pleaded, almost on the verge of tears.
Zhu Zhuqing was feeling a little better after seeing Ning Rongrong's pitiful state. But she still played along. "Sorry, Rongrong, there's nothing I can do. You'll have to ask Zuzong."
"Still not telling the truth, Miss Ning?" Zuzong said, looking at her.
Ning Rongrong knew her lie had been exposed. If she didn't confess now, she'd really end up a hundred meters in the air, facing the cold wind.
Taking a deep breath, she admitted, "Alright, alright, I'll tell the truth. Recently, I noticed that Zhuqing had been sneaking out at night, and I was curious, so today I decided to follow her secretly..."
Hearing this, Zhu Zhuqing's face turned even redder. She realized that Ning Rongrong had likely witnessed her intimate moments with Zuzong. No, it might have been happening for a while. She remembered a few times when Ning Rongrong had returned to the dorm later than usual. Could that mean...?
