'This isn't like sparring with Aiz before. Aiz didn't go all out against me, and we only used swordsmanship. On the other hand, this woman is going to kill me for real. This is the first major crisis I've faced in this reincarnation…'
As Charlie looked at the woman with blood-red hair, his brain worked quickly, analyzing the situation like a supercomputer.
He realized the strength of the enemy before him. From the aura Revis emitted, he could sense a Level 6 strength like Finn, Gareth, and Riveria.
Although Charlie wasn't an ordinary adventurer, fighting someone at that level would be incredibly dangerous.
Quickly, he decided to use a method of communication they both rarely used: telepathy. Without moving his lips, his mind directly connected with Aishia.
'Aishia, we need to be careful. This opponent is much stronger than we can handle together. I ask you to retreat now, return to your Astral Spirit form, and don't get involved in this fight.'
Aishia responded immediately, her voice clear in Charlie's mind.
'Charlie, you don't need to worry about me. It doesn't matter if the opponent is humanoid or a real human, I won't show mercy to someone who obstructs your path. We always fight together, you know that.'
Charlie frowned, but he tried to stay calm.
'I know you want to protect me, Aishia, and I appreciate it. But this time is different. Our opponent is clearly targeting you. She mentioned catching Spirits earlier. I don't know what will happen if you get hurt or even killed here. I can't take that risk. I beg you, I don't want to lose you.'
Pausing, Charlie took a deep breath, then continued with a determined tone.
'Trust me, Aishia. Let me handle this. I'll do my best to survive. But I need you to stay safe. Please, return to your Astral Spirit form.'
"..."
Finally, after a few seconds of silence, Aishia relented. Her voice was soft but understanding.
'Alright, Charlie. I'll obey you. But promise me you'll survive.'
"Of course. Don't forget, if I want to run away, the opponent won't be able to do anything." Charlie replied firmly.
Without another sound, Aishia's body began to fade, transforming into soft, shimmering particles of light. She transformed back into her Astral Spirit form, making her invisible and untouchable by the physical world. The particles of light scattered in the air, and she disappeared from sight.
"Where did that Spirit go?"
Looking around, Revis could no longer sense Aishia's presence.
"It doesn't matter what method that Spirit used to hide. It will appear on its own after I defeat you."
Her indifferent gaze fixed on Charlie, Revis drew the sword at her waist.
'This is high risk, but worth it.' Charlie thought.
He took a deep breath, feeling the pressure from the red-haired woman in front of him. He knew this fight wouldn't be easy. Quickly, he focused his mind on his Spirit Art, drawing the Esesni/Mana energy within his body.
"Physical Enchant."
"Divine Wind Protection."
In an instant, his body was enveloped in a faint light, power coursing through his muscles, strengthening his physique, and a gust of wind blew around his body.
"Ariel? No, it's something similar. Interesting, you can imitate the unique magic of the Wind Spirit Aria. Could it be the power of your contracted Spirit? Never mind, I'll know after I capture that mysterious Spirit." Revis frowned slightly and stopped thinking about it.
"..."
*WHOOSH*
Charlie didn't wait any longer. He attacked first, his body shooting forward at high speed, his sword raised and ready to slash. His blade glinted as he swung towards Revis, aiming for her right side.
*CLANG*
The slash met Revis's sword. The sharp clang of metal meeting metal echoed in the air, and in one clash, Charlie immediately realized how strong this woman was. The attack he thought would break through her defense was easily parried, Revis didn't even flinch.
"Is that all? You're really weak, Albert is much better than you." Revis's green eyes narrowed and she spoke in a dismissive tone.
Without hesitation, she pushed back with tremendous force, sending Charlie flying backward.
Charlie quickly regained his balance, but before he could catch his breath, Revis was already swinging her sword again, this time at a much higher speed.
*SWOOSH*
Charlie dodged the first attack, but the second attack came too quickly. Revis launched a slash towards his head.
*SWOOSH*
Charlie leaned his body to the side, narrowly escaping the attack. However, Revis didn't stop there. Without giving him any space, she turned her body and delivered a powerful kick towards his stomach.
*BAM*
The kick hit his stomach hard. Even though his body was strengthened by Spirit Art, Charlie felt the force of the attack.
"GUH!"
*WHOOSH*
His body was thrown several meters back, his back slamming against the wall hard. He groaned, pain shooting through his entire body.
"Cough Cough Cough..."
Charlie quickly got up. He knew he couldn't relax or show weakness in this situation. Even though his body was strengthened, Revis's strength and speed were still superior to his.
"So this is the power of Level 6… My current self has no chance of defeating her. The gap in our strength is too great."
*WHOOSH*
Revis didn't give him time to rest. She attacked again, her sword swinging with deadly speed and accuracy. Charlie raised his sword to parry the attack, but each clash made his hands numb.
*CLANG* *CLANG* *CLANG*
The exchange of attacks continued.
Although Charlie tried to counterattack, every move of his was easily predicted by her. No matter how fast or strong his attacks were, Revis always managed to anticipate and counter with terrifying precision.
Every time Charlie tried to get close, Revis's long sword was already there to block or slash back.
'As expected of a hero. His talent is ridiculously unreasonable. He developing at a terrifying speed.'
Initially, Revis could dominate the fight with swordsmanship alone. However, as time passed, she found her opponent's swordsmanship improving rapidly.
*CLANG* *CLANG* *CLANG*
Charlie began to be overwhelmed. Even though he was using Spirit Art to strengthen himself, he was still dominated by the other party. Every attack he unleashed seemed futile—Revis was too fast, too strong, and too experienced.
*SWOOSH*
Revis swung her sword hard, and Charlie could only dodge by jumping to the side. But before he could get a stable footing, Revis had launched her next attack. Her long sword slashed with full force.
"Oh shit!"
*BAM*
The attack hit his arm guard, throwing him off balance. Charlie was thrown backward again, this time further. Dust rose as his body rolled across the ground.
"Huft Huft Huft..."
He quickly got up again, even though the pain was starting to spread throughout his body. His breathing was becoming ragged, cold sweat trickling down his temples.
'Sure enough, only a life-or-death fight can increase strength quickly!'
Although Charlie looked miserable, there was a faint smile on his face.
"..."
Revis stood tall, her green eyes still gazing coldly. She showed no signs of fatigue. If anything, she hadn't even unleashed her full power yet.
"This is annoying. Defeating a hero is harder than killing a cockroach. They can always get back up and never give up. But... That doesn't change your defeat here."
"Here's a piece of advice from me: villains die because talk too much."
"That makes sense. Then, I'll get serious."
"Come, I want to see the true power of Level 6!"
Not only was Charlie not afraid, he was looking forward to seeing Revis in action.
