Chapter 122: The banquet [Collapsed]

Kian's blood ran cold at the sound of Kara's pained plea. He immediately shouted to Landon, his voice strained with barely contained panic.

"Landon, what's your situation? Talk to me!"

There was a moment of tense silence before Landon replied, his own fear and urgency palpable in every word.

"The four of us saw your siblings' group exit the emergency stairs just moments ago. They were ambushed by gunmen - Axel and Kane both took bullets! Jun managed to take out their attackers but then more criminals showed up... Jed came out of nowhere and saved our skins."

Landon paused for breath before delivering the devastating news that made Kian feel like he'd been punched in the gut.

"There were explosions everywhere after that. Kara fell...and debris collapsed on top of her lower body."

Kane cut in from behind the rubble pile, trying to reassure Kian even as he nursed a wound to his arm.
