The Disappearance

This eight-tailed fox hasn't appeared in my life for a long time.

My master knows about the spirit residing within me, but she was heavily injured during her tribulation and her soul is weak, so she's been recuperating inside me.

Over the years of training with my master, I've faced several tribulations, but I survived each one.

I know it was my master who protected me from those calamities.

Since then, the eight-tailed fox has never shown up again.

Every time I encountered danger, this spirit would help me overcome the tribulation.

As I stepped outside today, I felt dizzy and disoriented, and I collapsed to the ground.

The eight-tailed fox transformed into a stunning woman and warned me not to go forward.

She must have foreseen the danger and came to warn me.

Thankfully, this state didn't last long, only a few minutes.

  I soon returned to normal.

Then I saw Zhang Yunyao kneeling beside me, looking at me with concern, her eyes filled with worry, almost like she was about to cry.

"Mr. Wu, wake up... what's wrong with you?" Zhang Yunyao said, her lips trembling nervously.

I opened my eyes and looked at her.

  "I'm fine, let's go."

As I stood up, I felt a little dizzy again and nearly collapsed.

Zhang Yunyao walked over and placed my hand on her shoulder.

"Mr. Wu, let me help you."

I've never held a girl's hand my entire life.

As I put my arm around Zhang Yunyao, I felt an unusual sensation, my face flushing red.

"Mr. Wu, what happened to you just now?" Zhang Yunyao didn't notice my discomfort and asked with concern.

"I'm fine... maybe I got hit by the teacup and felt dizzy. Let's go to the ancestral grave quickly, I'm afraid we'll be late." I urged.

"Mr. Wu, are you okay to go in this state?" Zhang Yunyao looked at me worriedly.

"I'm fine, even if it's raining knives I'll go." I said resolutely.

  There's no other way.

If I don't go, those workers hired by the Zhang family, and Zhang Yunliang, might all die.

I don't care if Zhang Yunliang lives or dies, but Uncle Huzi is with them.

He's been watching me grow up since I was a child, almost like family, I can't lose him.

After getting in the car, I urged Zhang Yunyao to drive quickly.

Sitting in the passenger seat, my heart was pounding.

If something really happens, it'll be a huge disaster.

When I was training with my master, I once heard her say:

"When dragon and tiger release their lethal energy, danger lurks in the nine-layered coffin. Heaven and earth stem and branch appear in sequence, one mistake and you'll face the gates of hell!"

A "yin corpse land" is a rare feng shui phenomenon.

The corpses buried in such a land can remain uncorrupted for a thousand years and bring fortune to their descendants.

When retrieving the bodies from the "yin corpse land," it's crucial to do so in order, one by one, and at the right time.

Any mistake will lead to disastrous consequences, disrupting the feng shui energy of the entire grave site, causing unimaginable chaos.

Zhang Yunliang only cares about digging out all the coffins so he can go home and rest.

I left, and he let the workers continue digging.

He has no idea of the danger involved.

When Zhang Yucheng had an accident, I was in a hurry to return and didn't give them enough instructions.

I also thought that with Uncle Huzi there, everything would be fine.

I never expected Zhang Yunliang to be so reckless.

Now the spirit inside me is warning me not to go. It must be true that something terrible has happened.

In the car, I was restless, constantly thinking about this matter.

Zhang Yunyao tried to talk to me, but I didn't hear a word.

The car drove very fast, and we reached the Zhang family's ancestral grave in less than half an hour.

Zhang Yunyao parked the car, and I rushed out.

  Zhang Yunyao followed behind me.

As soon as we got close to the graveyard, I felt something was wrong.

The entire cemetery was enveloped in a thick, ominous aura.

The place was strangely quiet, not a sound to be heard, not even a chirping bird.

Seeing this, I stopped and said to Zhang Yunyao:

"Zhang, you wait in the car. Don't come with me, there might be danger here."

"Mr. Wu, you've been running around for our family's sake and even got injured, I can't let you go alone." Zhang Yunyao said firmly.

I shook my head helplessly and said:

"You can come with me, but don't leave my side."

Zhang Yunyao nodded heavily and walked beside me, clutching my arm, her eyes darting around.

We soon arrived at the Zhang family's ancestral grave.

As I had seen before, there was no one in the Zhang family's ancestral grave, just a few large coffins that had been dug up, lying in disarray in the graveyard.

"Where is everyone? Where did they go?" Zhang Yunyao asked in confusion.

"Uncle Huzi, it's Xiao Jie, where are you?" I called out, but there was no answer.

"Could my brother have taken everyone away?" Zhang Yunyao asked.

"Impossible, others might leave, but Uncle Huzi would never. I think they might be in danger." I said solemnly.

Zhang Yunyao's face turned pale upon hearing this.

"My brother, he won't be okay, will he..."

Although Zhang Yunliang is a scoundrel, as siblings, Zhang Yunyao cares for her brother.

  But I was confused too.

How did everyone disappear in the blink of an eye?

It took us less than two hours to get here and back, including the time spent at home.

  Where did everyone go?

At that moment, I took out my compass and began to detect the earth energy.

As soon as I took out the compass, the needle started spinning wildly.

With just a glance, I gasped in shock.

The compass needle spinning signifies great danger.

I quickly put away the compass and took out another artifact from my pocket.

It was a ruler called the Tianpeng Ruler.

The ruler is about thirty centimeters long, a four-sided rectangular short ruler with charms engraved on each side.

Ancient books say: In ancient times, people used peach branches to remove evil, and later, peach rods were used to defeat demons.

  The Tianpeng Ruler is similar.

The ruler is long and has markings, made of either peach wood or iron.

The Tianpeng Ruler is often four-sided, with six sides engraved with the twenty-eight constellations, sun and moon, Ziwei, Tianpeng, Nandou, and Beidou.

This artifact was left to me by my master.

Holding the Tianpeng Ruler in my hand, I felt strangely emboldened.

At that moment, strange sounds came from a distance, not far from the Zhang family's ancestral grave.
