CHAPTER 53

LIAM

To get some extra time with Renee, I invited her to join a golf game I'd planned with my best friend, Ezra. I offered to pick her up from her place, but she declined, saying she had a few errands to run before meeting us at the course. Still, I had a feeling she hadn't come straight from her business stops. Her hair smelled freshly shampooed, like she'd just stepped out of a shower.

When she arrived, I greeted her with a quick hug, took her hand, and guided her over to meet Ezra. With an easy, confident smile, she extended her hand to him. "It's nice to finally meet one of Liam's friends," she said playfully, her smile contagious as we all chuckled.

"Finally?" I asked, pretending to be offended. "What's that supposed to mean?"

With a slight shrug, she set her golf bag down and replied, "You're a bit of a lone wolf, Liam. Surely you didn't need me to tell you that."
