A Leader's Responsibility

**Location: Whitehaven, Logan's House**

In the cozy living room, Logan sat across from Anna, who nervously sipped her juice as she recounted her story.

"So, you ran away from home after your boyfriend got petrified trying to kiss you?" Logan asked, his voice calm but understanding.

Anna nodded, lowering her head in shame. "Yes," she muttered, her voice thick with regret.

Logan leaned forward, his gaze softening. "Don't worry, Anna. You're a mutant. It only happened because you didn't know how to control it."

Anna's head snapped up, her eyes filling with frustration and desperation. "But I didn't want this power!" she nearly shouted. "I just wanted to... to be normal."

Logan understood the weight of her words. "Listen, Anna, what you have is a gift. People would kill or die trying to get what you have. But if you don't want it, we can do something about it. How about I introduce you to someone who had a power similar to yours?"

Her eyes widened in surprise. "Someone like me?"

Logan nodded. "Yes. And she learned how to control it. You can, too. After that, if you still want to get rid of your powers, I'll help you. Deal?"

Anna hesitated, her lips trembling slightly before she nodded.

Then, her gaze flicked toward him, uncertainty clouding her features.

Logan smiled, "If you have anything you want to say, I'm all ears."

She bit her lip, seemingly hesitant to ask something, but finally, she found the courage. "Can I... touch you?"

Logan raised an eyebrow, momentarily caught off guard by her request.

The room fell into a brief silence before Anna quickly stammered, "I don't mean it that way! Ever since I got these powers, I can't touch anyone. Everyone I touch gets paralyzed. So... I just want to know what it feels like to touch someone again without hurting them."

Logan chuckled softly and stood up, moving to sit beside her on the sofa. "It's okay," he said, gently taking her gloved hands into his. He removed the gloves with ease, revealing her bare hands beneath.

Anna looked at him with nervous anticipation as he held her hands, their skin finally connecting.

She gasped softly, realizing that she wasn't hurting him. Slowly, she placed her hands on his cheeks, feeling the warmth of his skin for the first time in a long while.

Logan smiled at her, and they locked eyes. As if drawn together by an invisible force, they leaned in, their lips meeting in a soft, slow kiss.

Anna hesitated at first, but Logan took the lead, guiding her gently, making the kiss something special—something unforgettable.

Without realizing it, Anna moved onto Logan's lap, her arms wrapping around his neck as she deepened the kiss. Logan's hands found their place around her waist, pulling her closer.

Suddenly, a portal shimmered open, and Laura, along with a little girl, Hope, walked into the house.

Laura cleared her throat, coughing loudly to catch their attention.

Anna, startled by the sound, immediately jumped off Logan's lap, her face flushed with embarrassment.

Logan, however, remained calm, smiling at Anna's reaction. He gently lifted Hope into his arms as she ran to him, wrapping her tiny arms around his neck. "Daddy!" she exclaimed with excitement.

Anna blinked in confusion, her mind seemingly short-circuiting as she processed the scene unfolding before her.

Laura, with a knowing smirk, spoke up. "So, Mr. Logan, I take it the matter with your brother is resolved, given how... occupied you are?"

Logan, still holding Hope, turned to her with a smirk of his own. "Yeah. He won't be bothering us anymore."

Laura chuckled, sharing a glance with the flustered Anna, before turning to Logan with a satisfied expression. "Good. Because it looks like you've got your hands full with other matters now."

Anna, still mortified, avoided eye contact, while Logan simply gave a low, amused chuckle as the tension in the room began to ease.

Laura smiled warmly at Anna, her gaze then shifting to Logan. "So, mind telling me about her?"

Anna felt a surge of anxiety wash over her. The last thing she wanted was to appear as if she was trying to steal someone's husband. As she opened her mouth to speak, Logan intervened.

Logan then began to tell her about Anna, her powers and his plan to make Selene help her control her powers.

Laura's expression softened as she listened. "Don't worry, Anna. Selene is a good teacher and mentor. She will help you gain control over your powers."

"Thank you," Anna replied, her voice barely above a whisper. She wanted to explain the kiss, the strange but warm connection she felt with Logan, but just as she opened her mouth to speak, a shimmering portal appeared, and Selene stepped through.

"Look who's back," Selene said with a teasing smile, her eyes landing on Logan. "The guy who went to bang his wife months ago finally returned."

Logan, still cradling Hope in his arms, rolled his eyes. "Yeah, you know about my stamina, right? I'll always stay at my peak, so it takes months to get tired."

Anna's mind short-circuited again at Logan's comment, a mix of embarrassment and confusion flooding her thoughts.

Selene's attention shifted to Anna, and Laura took the opportunity to explain Anna's situation. "Selene, this is Anna. She's struggling with her powers and could use some help." then she explained Anna's situation fully.

Selene's demeanor changed to one of compassion as she addressed Anna. "Don't worry, child. I, too, have similar powers. I'll help you learn to control them."

Tears welled in Anna's eyes as she spoke, "Can you make it go away?"

Selene smiled gently. "If you truly want it to happen, I can. But first, you need to learn to control it. Even after that, if you want to live like a normal human, I'll take away your power."

"Thank you," Anna said, her voice choked with emotion.

Selene stepped forward, enveloping Anna in a warm hug.

Initially, Anna flinched, fearing her powers would cause harm, but Selene's powers enveloped her, nullifying Anna's powers momentarily. As they hugged, Anna relaxed and held Selene tightly.

Hope looked at Logan, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Daddy, is she my new auntie like Aunt Jean?"

Logan smiled down at her. "Yes, sweetie."

"Yay!" Hope exclaimed, and she jumped off Logan's lap, running over to Anna. As Anna and Selene broke their hug, Hope wrapped her arms around Anna.

Anna hesitated for a moment but quickly grew accustomed to the embrace, returning it gently.

Just then, magical runes glowed around Hope, a protective barrier Selene had cast to ensure Anna's powers wouldn't affect her.

Laura turned to Hope, a playful glint in her eye. "Hope, how about you take Aunt Anna to play with you and show her the house?"

"Yay! Let's go, Aunt Anna!" Hope cheered, enthusiastically tugging Anna along.

Anna, still wanting to clarify the kiss with Logan, hesitated but followed Hope.

As they began to walk away, Laura turned serious, focusing her attention on Selene. "Did you find out who is helping Victor?"

Selene sighed, her expression growing somber. "It's going to take some time to explain."

Soon, the three of them sat on the sofa, Jean walked in through the door like the only normal person, exchanging greetings with Selene before sitting beside Logan.

Laura sat on his other side, while Selene was positioned opposite them.

The atmosphere grew tense as Selene began to explain the situation. "There's someone I need to tell you about. Her name is Agatha Harkness," Selene started, her voice steady but serious.

Jean looked curious. "Who is she?"

"Agatha is a powerful witch—old, ancient even. She's survived through the centuries, keeping her power hidden from most. She's cunning, manipulative, and thrives on chaos. Over the years, she's gathered forbidden knowledge, experimenting with dark magic, trying to find ways to enhance her own abilities. She's also well-versed in mind control, illusions, and manipulation of life force," Selene explained.

Laura frowned. "And how does she tie into Victor?"

"Agatha was once a mentor to many powerful magic users, but her thirst for power turned her down a darker path. She's been seeking ways to elevate herself beyond her natural power, and that's where Victor comes in. She found him wandering, trying to get revenge on Logan as Victor thinks Logan abandoned him, she manipulated him and after some experimentation on him, they gave him some enhanced abilities."

Logan's eyes narrowed as Selene continued, "But Agatha isn't working alone. Dracula—yes, the Dracula—and Rumulos, the one we all thought was dead, are with her. Together, they've formed a syndicate, pooling their strengths and resources."

"Dracula's alive?" Jean asked, shocked.

Selene nodded. "He faked his death and has been working in the shadows. Their objective is power, and they're experimenting on humans to create beings that could rival Alphas. Victor is just one of their 'creations.'"

Logan squeezed Laura's hand as Selene gave more details. "Rumulos, who we all believed was long gone, was resurrected years ago. His powers make him nearly immortal which we all failed to understand, I'm sorry for that Laura."

She looked at Laura and then continued, "Agatha found him and brought him into her circle of power. Along with Dracula, they've been plotting for years, trying to raise themselves to the status of gods."

The room was silent for a moment as the weight of Selene's words sank in.

Laura, who had been quiet until now, suddenly snapped. "If Agatha is that dangerous and you destroyed most of her followers, why didn't you go after Victor yourself?"

Selene sighed, prepared for the question. "It's not that simple. The reason lies in our pack. We've grown too comfortable. Some in the pack have gotten arrogant, neglecting their training. They need to know they are not invincible, they are beings in this universe that can wipe out planet with a single thought. We need to be ready if there was ever a time comes for us to face them."

Selene also explained what she did to them.

Logan squeezed Laura's hand, grounding her as Selene finished. "Victor was just one of Agatha's pawns, but if she's helping him, it's for her own ends. Now, we don't have to worry about her as I took her magic away."

Laura shook her head, her voice filled with frustration. "You should have killed that bastard... very cruelly."

The tension in the room was thick, but the fire in Laura's words left no room for doubt.

Logan leaned forward and looked at Selene with a hint of concern. "What about the pack members we thought were killed by Victor?"

Selene smiled, her confidence unwavering. "They're alive. I saved them before they lost their lives to Victor and made everyone believe they're dead. I knew about Victor's plans, I went into his mind and got all the info I need. I've been waiting for the right moment to strike and destroy them all at once."

Logan smiled in relief, but before he could say anything, Jean chimed in with a smirk, "Seems like Selene's thinking more like a leader than you are, Logan."

Logan chuckled, but her words had weight. He couldn't deny that Selene's foresight and quick action had saved lives and possibly prevented an even bigger disaster.

It was a reminder that his role wasn't just about power—it was about responsibility and foresight. He had focused too much on improving his own abilities that he neglected the packs situation.

"I think it's time I meet with Hank, Ben, and the rest of the pack members. We need to have a serious conversation," Logan said, his tone firm. "If anyone thinks they're strong enough, they're wrong. I may have all these powers, but even I don't neglect my training. The same should go for the pack. This complacency has to stop, or situations like this will keep happening."

The. Logan stood up, stretching as he glanced toward the hallway. "Anyway, It's getting late. Looks like Hope and Anna have already gone to bed," he said, his enhanced senses picking up their calm breathing as they slept, tired after playing together for a while.

Selene followed suit, standing up and preparing to leave. "I'll take my leave now. We'll discuss the next steps soon," she said, giving them a farewell smile before teleporting back to her home.

Logan looked at Jean and Laura with a smirk, a mischievous glint in his eyes. He wrapped an arm around each of their waists. "Alright, ladies. Let's head to bed."

Without waiting for a reply, Logan teleported them to their bedroom, the tension of the day left behind as the night settled in.
