Luffy read through all the details, his grin growing wider with every passing moment. Then, without warning, he threw his head back and laughed like a madman, startling Law so badly that the young surgeon almost dropped his sword.

"HAHAHAHAHA! This is unbelievable! You're not just a lucky charm, you're my personal goldmine, Luo!"

He slapped Law on the shoulder so hard it nearly knocked the boy off balance. Law blinked in stunned confusion, his usual cool demeanor completely shattered.

'What in the hell is wrong with him?! Did he finally snap? Maybe I should check if he's got a fever... or a screw loose,' Law thought, eyeing Luffy like he was some kind of unpredictable wild animal.

But Luffy, oblivious to the younger boy's bewilderment, crouched down and pulled two thick, weathered books out of thin air, practically slamming them onto the deck in front of Law with a resounding thud.

"I've got big plans for you, kid," Luffy declared, his grin sharp and almost predatory. "You're gonna master your Devil Fruit powers and Haki, no question about it. But first, we've gotta fix you up, 'cause right now, you're running on fumes. Your body's way too underdeveloped, and that Devil Fruit of yours? It's draining your stamina like a leaky bucket. Sure, the training you did with the Donquixote family was brutal, but guess what? It's not even close to enough."

Law gulped. The intensity in Luffy's voice made it sound like he was already throwing him into some hellish boot camp.

Luffy jabbed a finger at the books with a look of triumph. "First, we're gonna build your stamina. I want you to be able to use Ope Ope no Mi for hours without breaking a sweat. Second, one of these books has Marine Six Styles. Yeah, the Marine Six Styles. You're gonna learn them and trust me, once you master those techniques, you'll be able to fight like a beast even without your Devil Fruit. It's the perfect way to conserve your energy while still kicking serious ass."

Law's jaw practically hit the floor. "Marine Six Styles?! That's an elite combat technique used by Marines! How the hell did you even get your hands on something like that?!"

Luffy scratched the back of his head, looking almost sheepish—if it weren't for the glint of mischief in his eyes. "Oh, that? Did I forget to mention it? My grandpa's a Marine Vice Admiral."

"WHAT?!" Two shocked exclamations echoed in the silent cave.

One was naturally from Trafalgar Law and the second one was from Bepo.

Law's brain short-circuited. "YOUR GRANDPA'S A VICE ADMIRAL?! What kind of crazy family are you from?!"

Luffy just laughed again, his voice echoing across the ship like thunder. "You have no idea!"

Bepo had woken up during their conversation, listening to them. He did not have much idea of what was going on.

"Oh, you are finally awake. Come here and have some food." Luffy smiled kindly at the polar bear.

Bepo was a little shy and scared from the previous incident. He crawled over and took a seat beside the fire.

Luffy passed a cooked fish to the little fellow whose eyes instantly lit up in joy.

Luffy turned to Law and whispered slowly. "How about you take him under you? This little guy is quite cute and might prove to be a great aid for you."

Law listened and glanced at Bepo, wondering whether to agree or not.

At that moment, Bepo had finished the fish and looked at Law, speaking slowly.

"Umm... I want to thank you for coming to my aid. I was so scared that... that I could not put up any resistance to them..."

Law was a little embarrassed by the sudden gratitude of the polar bear. He waved his hand. "You're welcome, but they were rushing at me, that's why I attacked them. It wasn't to help you."

"It doesn't matter! I'm still super happy!" Bepo smiled brightly and replied while bowing his head.

Law could not help but flush a little as they had an audience, witnessing everything. He quickly waved his hands and asked.

"Anyway, Why haven't you responded to their blows? You are a polar bear, after all, you are certainly stronger than them."

Bepo's smile was replaced with a sad expression. He looked down and whispered slowly.

"Yes, but ... They are the ones who came to talk to me."

"So what?" Law raised an eyebrow and pressed him. He could not grasp why Bepo would let those two brats beat him up when he was much stronger.

Bepo replied in a hurtful tone. "I thought maybe we could be friends."

Law was dumbfounded by Bepo's reply and stared at him with wide eyes.

"What? Is that what you were thinking while they were hitting you?!"

Bepo slowly nodded his head and stated sadly. "Yes. I told myself that if I stayed quiet if I didn't resist, maybe we would end up becoming friends..."

"Friends?" Law muttered the single word slowly. He was hearing that word for the first time in a long time.

He felt his heart throbbing as sadness welled up in his heart. He did not have any more friends. They were all burnt to death.

For a moment, he remembers my family and all his church friends.

'Aah, that's not a bad memory.'

He felt his nose turning sour and wiped the tears from the corner of his eyes.

Luffy sighed and patted his shoulder. He could only support him since he could not understand his feelings. He had never experienced anything like this in his whole life.

Law sighed and shook his head, pushing his focus onto something else.

'Come to think of it, the presence of this polar bear here, alone, seems strange to me. If that happens, he lives in solitude, without anyone, like me not long ago...'

It was where Law started to get interested in Bepo's situation.

"Say, do you live in the area?" He asked Bepo.

Bepo shook his head. "No, I only arrived on this island yesterday. I don't know anyone and I have nowhere to go."

Law raised an eyebrow at him. "And before, where did you live?"

Bepo smiled and replied excitedly. "In the New World, do you know?"

He had wanted to find someone to chat so seeing someone taking interest in him and chatting, Bepo was clearly very delighted.

Law nodded his head in understanding. "Yes, I've heard of it before."

Law had lived in the Donquixote Family, so he was very aware of all the stuff concerning the sea. It was there that he learned that the New World was located on the second half of the Grand Line, a road that splits the world in two.

All pirates who sought the OnePiece were bound to go there one day or another.

Law glanced at Luffy and saw him watching them with a playful smile. He couldn't help but flush and ask Bepo.

"And so, you, have come here from this New World?!"

The polar bear nodded his head.

It was said that almost all the knowledge acquired here was of no value once in the New World. The currents, the weather, the magnetism, everything.

Doflamingo taught Law that all the information necessary for navigation was totally wrong once there. According to him, that was not a place for hackers and ordinary browsers.

So to reach Swallow Island, which was on North Blue, from there, you needed guts...

Law was very interested in Bepo and asked. "Did you maneuver your boat yourself to get here?"

Bepo shook his head and replied while scratching the side of his head. "No, not exactly, although I have studied navigation a bit in the past... In fact, in the New World is the island of Zou."
