First Meeting With The Clan Guardian (2)

Jason's gaze switched from the intruder to Emily's, the girl was knocked unconscious and it seemed like if the clan guardian wasn't generous enough to catch him she would have gotten lost.

And he would have had to find her again, the system's advice would have been worthless.

No matter how much he tried to justify that the impulse to take her in wasn't just from the system but also his own thoughts he found it hard to believe it himself, if there was no chance of a benefit he would have left her on the streets.

The clan guardian's had an amused expression on her face as she could sense his thoughts swirling.

"So it was intuition that made you bring her in, you must be an illiterate or something." She said as she listened to his thoughts.

'Intuition, I never said that!' Jason thought.

[Due to restrictions placed on the Host's memory abilities that read the target's thought do not work properly when the Host thinks about something related to the talent system.]

A blue translucent screen appeared before Jason, he read it quickly.

'I never agreed to having restrictions placed on my memory!' Jason shouted internally.

[Host has near-perfect memory due to the system's actions]

For the first time Jason felt lucky that he had a system that gave him advice, even though it rarely gave him information it was better than most systems he had read about.

But not all...

The system placed restrictions on his memory, that wasn't clear enough for his liking. From the way it explained it, the system should have put that he put restrictions on the amount of information people could get from using annoying abilities like mind reading.

"Some time ago, you saved a little girl that had been turned into a slave: Emily Brown. One of the members in this clan wants her and has sent two men to get her, the strongest rank 4 of the human world and a rank 1."

"That middle aged man was a rank 4! Strange, he seemed very easy to beat." Jason said out loud.

'But who would want to steal the daughter of a fallen family?' Jason questioned himself internally.

"One of the old baldies." She explained. "The older baldies want her for some reason."

"Then why don't you just kill him? He's causing you so much trouble already." Jason said out loud.

If he thought about it she could read his thoughts, there was no other choice but to say it out loud. After all, she didn't mind his thoughts in the first place.

She hadn't done anything that damaged...

Jason shook his head as he tried to move his right hand.

He was so caught up in the moment that he forgot the clan guardian had blown off his right arm off, luckily she didn't take his torso with it.

Now that he remembered about the injury the pain was surreal, while he was preoccupied the pain was non-existent but now it felt like it something surreal.

Like the kind of pain one would feel after having an open wound but still getting stabbed multiple times in the same spot, except this one is much more painful and harder to deal with.

'Ah shit, Offhand!' Jason exclaimed. 'I spent so much time mastering it, if I don't get a potion all my efforts will be wasted!'

"You're not getting a potion or elixir, you will participate in the trial without your right arm, after the trial I will allow it." The clan guardian said playfully.

Despite the tone Jason could feel the threat laced into her words, she would kill him if he tried to heal it.

"What about him?" Jason said, pointing his finger at the man suspended in the air.

The clan guardian's word awakened anger in him, anger that he couldn't direct at the being who caused it. He decided to vent his anger on the only victim in the vicinity, he was a criminal and a culprit.

There was nothing wrong with disposing of the trash, trying to abduct a young girl of not even eight.

And one of the elders had even ordered the damn thing.

The clan's guardian's information was important, it helped him narrow his search to the old men in the clan. But there were hundreds, at least, of elders in the Hachiman clan.

Jason had learned that the people present when the old woman (Mai Hachiman) dragged him when she caught him with Zane, that there were more elders.

He had only seen the highest order of them, and frankly speaking they were all old.

His father wasn't among them.

"Oh yes..." She paused as she finally looked at the intruder. "The monkey who thought he could sneak into here, just because you're a rank 1 monkey you think you are the best."

The man couldn't speak, it was as if her mere thoughts were holding him in in suspension.

'She's really racist.' Jason thought, the sting of a lost limb still there.

The clan guardian waved her hand dismissively, she lightly moved her hands as if she was telling him to get the fuck out of her sight.

But then...

Something incredible happened.

The man suddenly started letting out muffled screams, cries for help.

Suddenly, he was split into a million pieces.

Literally.

There was no time blood to come out, the liquid did not spill.

From his forehead to his legs, nothing was spared. Each part of his body turned into a small cube of irregular size.

The clan guardian didn't even look amused.

She brought her hand forward and used her thumb and finger to form a ball.

Before any of the cube pieces could hit the floor they got pulled together by an invisible force that joined them together, they got turned into a small ball before falling on the ground.

Jason stared in disbelief at the scene that just unfolded before his eyes, he knew that the clan guardian was strong, but being able to turn a rank 1 awakened into a million cubes and then turning him into a tiny ball.

By just waving her hands dismissively.

She was the next level of strength.

"If I wasn't the guardian of this clan I would have already gone on a killing spree." She said in disdain for the remains of the rank 1. "And killed every single monkey in the world."

'Intense racism.'

As he heard the words he just had to think about that word, he was very familiar with it and had called quite a few people by that word.

"I guess I am." She affirmed, as if reading his own thoughts.

But she was reading his thoughts.

Jason's gaze went to Emily, he wondered what the system meant by "Host is advised to save her" and because of that single line of text he had gone out of his way to save her, take her in, teach her how to use a dagger and many other things.

But where they really worth it?

An elder wanted to kidnap her, when the clan guardian could watch every one of them in the main clan building.

Was the clan guardian just lazy or she carried the whole "I don't intervene in the matter of mortals." Talk so that she could be lazy.

"Jason..." The woman said.

Jason instinctively turned his head towards her, stopping his long line of thoughts.

"...How would you like to become my disciple."

Here it is! More collections!!
