Chapter 30

Author's Note:

Hello Author-san here, I know that some of y'all might be angry with my choice of going on the non harem route, and to be honest I don't blame ya. I know my strengths and I know I won't be able to please everybody, it's simply impossible so I'll keep writing as I usually do.

I do love each and every one of you, regardless of the fact you might hate me for doing so. I won't hold it against you, my only hope is that even if a tiny fraction likes what I do it would be enough for me.

P.S. This fanfic is my first most successful works I've done in my life so I'm grateful to everyone. I would like to let y'all know that I'm currently working on my original fantasy book, not Chinese or the like. Something that would be original unlike most of the cliche Isekai novels and System novels we read and see, it will be my very first work.

So to all my DnD players, please imma need y'all help with advice. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated by a noob like me😅

Anyway unto the story 😉

Seeing the plane looming ahead, Voidreaver increased his speed, the world blurring around him. In an instant, he phased through the side of the plane and found himself amidst chaos.

Passengers cowered in their seats, fear etched into their faces as armed men held them hostage. His sudden appearance triggered a chain reaction of surprise and panic.

The terrorists spun to face him, their guns already aiming when time froze. His HUD immediately scanned the plane, identifying every passenger and alert for any hidden threats.

Finding none, Voidreaver moved with deliberate calm, disarming each man with efficiency. He used their own belts to bind them tightly, ensuring they wouldn't pose any further threat.

Time resumed, and the terrorists yelped in shock, their hands suddenly empty and bound. The passengers, seeing the danger averted, erupted into relieved cheers.

An elderly man, his hands trembling, stepped forward. "Thank you, son, for saving us. Are you… are you a new hero?"

Voidreaver turned to him, his voice calm but firm. "No, I'm not. I'm not with Vought, but that doesn't mean I need to be one to save you, does it?" The elderly man paused, processing the weight of his words.

Voidreaver scanned the passengers, his gaze reassuring. "Everyone, please take your seats calmly. I'll handle the rest."

He moved toward the pilot's cabin, speeding up again causing for time to pause once more as he phased through the door.

Inside, the scene was grim. One pilot lay slumped, lifeless, while the surviving pilot sat frozen, a gun pressed against his temple by the remaining terrorist.

Voidreaver acted with precision, wrenching the gun away and snapping the terrorist's wrist with a swift motion. As he released time, the terrorist's scream filled the small space, the pain finally catching up with him. A quick strike knocked the man unconscious.

The surviving pilot, still in shock, stared up at Voidreaver with wide eyes. "Can you continue with your destination?" Voidreaver asked, his voice steady.

The pilot, shaking but determined, nodded. "Yes… yes, I think so. Thank you." He swallowed hard, gripping the controls as if drawing strength from them.

Voidreaver gave a curt nod, placing a reassuring hand on the pilot's shoulder. "Take a deep breath. You've got this. I'll be here until you're safely on course."

It didn't take long before the plane shuddered slightly, a subtle tremor that caught Voidreaver's attention. He turned back to the pilot, his voice calm but reassuring. "I'll go check. Don't worry, you're safe."

The pilot, still shaky but more focused, nodded gratefully and returned his attention to the controls.

Voidreaver stepped out of the cockpit and was immediately greeted with the sight of the passengers, now calmer, but their relief quickly turned to surprise.

Standing among them, with an air of forced calm, was Homelander. The moment their eyes met, Homelander froze, his confident demeanor faltering for just a second before he plastered on his familiar, artificial smile.

"Don't worry, people, you're safe now," Homelander announced, his voice dripping with feigned warmth.

The passengers, still recovering from their ordeal, looked between the two figures in confusion and awe.

Homelander, ever the performer, tried to assess Voidreaver, his enhanced vision probing for any clue about the man under the suit. But when his powers failed to reveal anything, a frown creased his brow.

"And who's this hero? Someone new in town?" Homelander asked, his tone casual, but the underlying tension was unmistakable.

Voidreaver didn't flinch. His voice was cold, cutting through the facade. "No, I'm something you can never be. No matter how many people you might easily trick into thinking you're a hero, you're nothing more than a disappointing actor."

Homelander's forced smile twisted into a sneer as he let out a sharp, mocking laugh. "Heh, actor? Do you live under a rock or something? I'm the hero, I'm the savior! Just because you got here first doesn't make me any less of a hero, does it?"

Voidreaver's eyes narrowed slightly, his silence speaking volumes. 'Does he even realize how hollow his words are?' he mused inwardly.

The lack of response wiped the grin off Homelander's face, replacing it with a darker, more dangerous expression. "Who are you?" he demanded, his voice low and menacing.

Voidreaver tilted his head slightly, his tone unyielding. "I don't remember signing up to be one of your lapdogs, so I don't see why I should answer to you."

A flash of barely concealed rage lit up Homelander's eyes, his pupils glowing with the promise of violence. Voidreaver chuckled softly, a sound that only stoked the fire in Homelander's eyes. "What's the matter? Don't like what I said? Go on, show everyone the real you."

The challenge hung in the air, and in a split second, Homelander unleashed his heat vision, the deadly beams searing through the space where Voidreaver stood.

But Voidreaver was already gone, his form a blur of blue lightning as he reappeared behind Homelander, his hand gripping the so-called hero's face with unyielding force.

"Let's take this outside," Voidreaver said calmly.

Before anyone could react, the two vanished from the plane in a flash of blue lightning, leaving the passengers in stunned silence, the air crackling with the remnants of their confrontation.

(Elsewhere)

Madeline Stillwell finally had a moment of peace in her vast office, sipping her caramel macchiato. The storm caused by the leak of her deal with Homelander and Shockwave had been brutal, but she managed to spin the narrative as a forged video.

Edgar nearly had her hide, but for now, she could say she deserved a break. Maybe a vacation to the Bahamas, she mused; she'd heard it was booming this year.

Her plan to have Homelander save the plane with the passengers would push their agenda for getting their supes in the military. As she leaned back in her chair, a worker burst into the room, his face pale with panic.

Madeline groaned in frustration. "WHAT! DON'T YOU KNOW WHEN NOT TO INTERRUPT ME DURING MY BREAK?!"

Ignoring her rant, the worker stuttered, "Homelander—he's all over the map!"

The words stunned Madeline into silence. "What?! What the hell do you mean?!"

Without waiting for an answer, she burst out of the room, sprinting toward the Analysis department. The door swung open as a panting Madeline demanded, "WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON? WHERE'S HOMELANDER?!"

An analyst pointed toward the map on the screen monitor, displaying the tracking chip's location. Homelander's signal darted from one place to another at a frightening speed.

Madeline stared at the screen, her heart pounding. "No,no,no,no this… this isn't possible," she whispered to herself, realizing something had gone very, very wrong.

(Back to Voidreaver)

Voidreaver's form blurred as he ran, Homelander's face gripped tightly in his right hand. With a powerful toss, he sent Homelander flying ahead of him. The supe tried to regain control, only to be interrupted by a sucker punch that sent him even farther, disoriented.

Catching Homelander by his cape, Voidreaver dragged him across the ground at insane speed, a velocity that would have turned anyone else into a bloody smear. He hurled Homelander again, sending him crashing into a mountain far ahead.

The impact was explosive, a massive eruption of stone and earth cascading over the groaning Homelander, burying him in a rocky heap.

Voidreaver stood by the crash site on a thankfully uninhibited island, his eyes narrowing as he called out, knowing full well that Homelander could hear him.

"Is that the best you can do?! World's strongest man alive, my ass. You're just a weakling, a disappointment preening like a proud peacock until someone comes along spanking your ass. Show me your so-called strength, you fucking wretch!"

The rocks rumbled as twin lasers blasted out, followed by Homelander's scream of unadulterated fury. 'That's it, keep getting angry,' Voidreaver thought, his muscles coiled in readiness.

Homelander, now free of the debris, floated for a moment, his chest heaving with rage. His eyes locked onto Voidreaver's, and with another scream, he blitzed toward the still-unimpressed figure. The air around them crackled with the raw power of Homelander's speeding approach.

{Battle Mode Engaged} Voidreaver's suit shifted into a new form, inspired by Savitar and Iron Man. The armor, a sleek fusion of speed and technology with his own twist, responded to his thoughts.

Dodging Homelander's erratic heavy blows, Voidreaver countered with precise, fluid movements. Left hook dodged, he responded with a gut punch; a right kick was deflected before smashing Homelander in his solar plexus, leaving him heaving.

Pressing his advantage, Voidreaver swept Homelander off his feet with a sweeping leg before catching the airborne supe by his foot and slamming him down.

Blasting Voidreaver off with a burst of heat vision allowed Homelander a moment of reprieve. He saw Voidreaver at a distance, casually dusting himself off.

"You know," Voidreaver began, "I could do this all day. A drunkard can put up a better fight than you, a fucking waste of a supe."

Homelander's eyes narrowed dangerously, his composure slipping. "Enough games. I'm done with your little shit show, I'm going to kill you!! I'm the motherfucking Homelander and I can do whatever the fuck I want!!" Voidreaver only responded with a chuckle "Show me."

Homelander surged forward, faster than ever before, his heat vision blazing uncontrollably. Voidreaver intercepted him mid-flight, their clash creating shockwaves that reverberated across the sky.

Sending punch after punch towards him, with Voidreaver effortlessly weaving and dodging the blows. "Stop trying to hit me and hit me already!!" Voidreaver mocked further making Homelander to lose control.

Before Voidreaver caught both of his fists and gave him a headbutt disorienting him, and sent him flying with a very painful uppercut that made Homelander for the first time in his life feel pain.
