The Samurai and the Emergency Quest

"The Royal Capital has its first SSS-Rank adventurer!"

I couldn't help but stare in confusion at Rumi's declaration. 'First SSS-Rank adventurer? That sounds like a bunch of nonsense.' Fervis noticed my confusion and explained to me what Rumi was referring to.

"The Adventurer's Guild ranks the power on a scale. D-Rank is the lowest rank, C-Rank is the middle rank, and from there B-Rank and A-Rank are extremely rare. Beyond that, you can count the amount of adventurers on the one hand. There is only one SS-Rank Adventurer inside of the Royal Capital and even she is extremely lazy and avoids doing any genuine work." Fervis explained.

"Well, what rank is Fervis?" I asked.

"Fervis works for the Royal Family and not the Adventurer's Guild so she is not assigned a rank, but she is likely equivalent to a borderline SS-Rank if she was to try her best," Rumi answered while tidying up the broken glass from the windows. She wasn't cleaning it herself, but the pieces of glass were floating back into the windows. 'There is no way this is normal right?'

"Y-You praise me too highly." Fervis stammered and raised her shoulders in embarrassment.

"With the blood of a Dragoon running through your veins, we are probably underestimating you if anything is the case, hahaha." The guild master chuckled again and Rumi elbowed him in the side once again. "Stop bringing that up, Guild Master!"

"Eh, but Mimi already know's now, so there's no need to worry." He answered with a puzzled expression plastered over his face.

"That doesn't mean that we should talk about such a serious matter so openly." Rumi elbowed him again, causing the man to wail out in pain.

"Rumi, don't kill a kind old soul such as myself!" The guild master ran around the room in a circle as the now-aggravated Rumi chased him.

'How did I end up surrounding myself with such fools?' I sighed and placed my expressionless face in my palm.

"Yeah, those two are very lively." Fervis's sudden words startled me for a moment until I looked over my shoulder at the smiling silver-haired girl.

"Are they kind of like your parents?" I found myself asking without even thinking and immediately covered my mouth with my apparent foolishness.

"Mimi, don't worry… what you said wasn't rude or untrue." Fervis stood on her tippy toes and put her chin over my shoulder as she embraced me.

"Your status on the other hand is completely ridiculous, Mimi." Fervis giggled and her sudden laughter brought my heart to a standstill for a moment before it rapidly began beating again.

Just as Fervis spoke, a loud eruption of flames could be seen through the window of the Guild master's office. The flames were followed by screams from what I could only assume were people. Fervis, who had just now noticed the fire as well jumped apart from me and observed it from the window by my side.

"What's going on?" As I observed the fire, it was spreading insanely quickly and building after building was catching on fire instantly in some sort of chain reaction. 'Fire could never spread this quickly back in Japan. This must be related to Mythica.'

"Mythica Manipulation..." The Guild master had stopped running around the office and was now observing the engulfing fire by my side.

"Like what Fervis has?" I questioned the Guild Masters analysis. 'Isn't her blood rare?'

"It's likely an opponent that Fervis has fought before." The Guild Master grimly clenched his fist.

"Guild master you don't mean..." Rumi's words trailed off as she caught sight of Fervis who just watched the Fire with a heavy frown plastered on her face.

When I first got to this world, I didn't understand anything. Everyone was dressed in weird clothes, and giant beasts that I could only remember seeing in Western picture books were just running amok.

'The tension in the room has become apparent. Fine then, anyone who threatens the peace of a town that Fervis resides in is an enemy of mine. Whoever you are, I will cut you down!'

"Guild master who should we send for such a quest!?" Rumi asked the unmoving guild master whose eyes were frozen at the sight of what he was seeing.

"I will go." Without waiting, I tapped Fervis on the shoulder, who tensed for a moment before flashing me a wide, but pained smile.

"Let's go, Mimi!" Fervis cast the magic symbol beneath my feet that I had now come to know as Teleportation and in moments we vanished from the guild master's room.

"Syllis Hurry!" My father was frantically trying to pull me forward by the hand as we ran in panic, but before I could even make it to his side a massive column of fire engulfed him, and when the column of fire dissipated, I realized that I was only holding onto his arm now. This was because now only ashes remained of his body.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

As I screamed in terror, I saw the culprit. A pale-faced young girl, her long white hair reached down to her waist, and the tips glowed with a blue flame. Her eyes were red, and the pupils were slits, her body was very slender, so much so that it looked like she was starving.

She was wearing a withered white dress that exposed many scars on her shoulder, neck, and thigh. Her feet were not covered by anything, she just was walking around barefoot. I thought I was on the path to becoming a Saintess, but now my father, who was regarded as one of the most powerful Saints in the Capital, had been relegated to ashes in less than a second.

This girl couldn't be much older than I was. Why was she so powerful? The scariest thought I had was that this crazy monster was actually beautiful. I couldn't bring myself to run anymore, so I just closed my eyes and awaited my death.

"Young girl, do you know where my sister is?" I heard a sweet and high-pitched voice ask.

When I opened my eyes, the white-haired girl was standing directly in front of me displaying a wide smile.
