Jinchuriki?

After leaving the Hokage's building, Yami headed straight for the BBQ restaurant. All that fighting had made him starve.

He didn't care about the cost and kept ordering meat until he was full. He didn't know about the others, but fighting on the edge of death really made ninjas hungry.

As he devoured the food, he whimsically called up his status window, trying to see if anything had changed after that deadly fight.

It looked like he had benefited quite a bit from that fight. His physical attributes had increased slightly, and his chakra capacity had grown by 25 points. As expected, fighting wouldn't make his chakra capacity significantly larger.

But seeing that his chakra capacity was still labeled as high Genin, despite being more than five times the amount he had before the system awakening, he still didn't compare to a chunin.

If this amount was only high Genin, then just how absurd of an amount did the Hokage have, or the Jinchuuriki?

But putting that out of his mind, what he was most satisfied with was his chakra control, which had reached 80%.

The deadly fight with the special Jonin had pushed him to his limits and made him reduce the cost and increase the efficiency of using chakra, which was why it had increased so much.

However, the fight also made him realize how weak he was once his invisibility was cracked.

During the past year, he had relied on this special ability to complete missions and survive the chase from enemies, which had made him somewhat confident in his survival abilities. But if he went into the upcoming war with the same mentality, he was bound to encounter others who could crack his invisibility. At that time, being surrounded by enemies would be fatal and could potentially cause his death.

"I suppose I need to focus on training one or two things that will bring the fastest results instead of wasting time trying out all kinds of things," he mused.

There wasn't much else he could do right now, except continue with his training and his fuinjutsu studies.

He had managed to learn how to make storage seals, and he was tantalizingly close to being able to make explosive seals successfully. The only hindrance was figuring out how to transmit the explosion command, but he had covered that up by infusing his spiritual energy into the explosive tags and animating them to explode at his desired time.

"I suppose it's time for me to go to the hospital," Yami thought, banishing the status screen with a thought. He had a good reason for desperately trying to improve his chakra control, in addition to his weak chakra capacity—the Mystical Palm Jutsu would be incredibly useful. Not only would it enhance his physical training, but it would also enable him to deal with the injuries he was bound to suffer during the war. Becoming a medic ninja would also provide him with enough status to avoid being sent on suicidal missions.

"Alright, let's get the Mystic Palm first, then I'll change my training plan," Yami decided. He left the restaurant and headed toward the hospital.

Upon arrival, Yami was unsure of the exact process he needed to go through in order to become a medic ninja. He approached the nurse at the front reception desk for guidance.

Thankfully, the nurse was quite helpful and directed him toward the left wing of the hospital, with a clearly visible sign.

Yami followed the directions and found himself in a long corridor leading to a pair of large double doors. Two ninja wearing scrubs stood on either side, guarding the doors.

Part of Yami wished he could be like them, an ordinary guard without the potential to be sent on dangerous missions. However, being a guard was not the ideal choice for him, as it would waste time he could spend on training.

"Is there something you need?" the guard on the left asked.

"Yeah," Yami replied and explained why he was there. "The reception nurse sent me this way. I'm looking to get some medic ninja training."

"Huh, don't see many kids your age trying to learn this. Good on you," the man chuckled.

"Well, the rumors about the war have forced me to try and learn it," Yami replied with a shrug.

Most people in Konoha were aware of the tense atmosphere of the world. They could sense that this war would be even more brutal than the previous ones, as every village was preparing a large amount of supplies.

"Yeah, that does sound logical," the man nodded in agreement. He reached into his scrubs and pulled out a rolled-up scroll. "Still, despite your interest, you have to learn this jutsu first before we can test you. This scroll contains the basic qualification you need to be a medic ninja. If you can't even learn this, well, I can only advise you to give up instead of wasting your time."

Yami caught the scroll when it was tossed toward him and couldn't help but ask, "You just keep these on hand to give out?"

The medic ninja shrugged. "The head medic is a very busy guy. He set it up this way so he wouldn't be bothered by anybody but those who have the potential to be medic ninja."

Indeed, wasting time on people without potential was a lost cause.

"Sounds good. I'll reach out to you once I've finished this. Thanks." Yami pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind and bid farewell to the two medic ninja guards before leaving the hospital.

Instead of heading to the training ground, Yami decided to go home and rest. His chakra was running low, and he wasn't in the mood to practice after the events of the day.

As he walked, Yami unrolled the scroll and casually read through its contents on his way to his apartment.

The scroll explained the name of the jutsu and described its general uses, some of which were quite helpful. Although it couldn't heal broken bones, with enough chakra, it could mend them. It could also repair damaged skin tissue, reconnect nerves, and more.

The scroll recommended having a high level of chakra control before attempting the jutsu. However, even with excellent chakra control, it wasn't a guarantee of success in learning the technique.

"I wish I had the healing factor of a Jinchuuriki." Yami couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy towards those with such an ability. Despite the disadvantages, such as being treated as a dangerous weapon by the village and facing discrimination from the villagers, Yami believed the benefits outweighed the drawbacks.

By becoming a Jinchuuriki, he would not only gain their healing abilities but also have a significant reserve of chakra that could elevate his combat power to the level of a Jonin or even beyond.

Unfortunately, being a Jinchuuriki also meant becoming a target for Madara and the Akatsuki. Additionally, it was nearly impossible to find a Biju who would willingly choose to be sealed inside a human.

"Wait a minute..." Suddenly, Yami halted his steps, eyes widened as a certain thought crossed his mind.

His Kekkei Genkai granted him the ability to manipulate souls, absorb them, or infuse them into objects to give them life. But what if... what if he could extract fragments of a Biju spirit? Would he be able to obtain a portion of its chakra and become a semi-Jinchuuriki? This was indeed possible, as he recalled a character in the series who had done the same.

Becoming a semi-Jinchuuriki would mean that he wouldn't be targeted by Madara and the Akatsuki.

Pondering this, Yami had already decided to pursue this plan. However, he needed to become much stronger in order to capture a Biju and extract part of its soul.

"No, not just one..."

He would capture all of the Biju beasts and extract fragments of their souls.

"Haha, wouldn't that make me a semi Ten-Tails Jinchuuriki?"

Yami couldn't help but burst into laughter, attracting the attention of passersby, but he didn't care and continued to laugh.

He had finally found a way to become strong enough to confront the Otsutsuki. All that was left for him now was to carefully plan how to seize the power of each Biju.
