Chapter 19:Sin Escaped!

Ace tightened his grip on the bo staff, his mind calm despite the chaos surrounding him. Sin thrust his katana forward, aiming for a precise stab, but Ace reacted quickly, slamming the base of his staff under the blade. The katana's tip was forced upwards, missing its target as the two combatants leaped back to reset their positions.

Sin chuckled darkly, his voice dripping with malice from under the sinister Darkrai mask. "This is getting exciting," he said, his tone sending a chill through the air.

Ace didn't respond immediately, his eyes narrowing as he analyzed Sin's movements. 'Stay focused,' Ace reminded himself, stepping into a defensive stance.

A sudden explosion happened while Ace and Sin clashed. Thunderbolt and Water Gun collided with Tangrowth's Energy Ball, creating a shockwave that pushed the combatants back slightly. Smeargle darted forward, his tail glowing as he slashed at the vines shooting up from underground. Elekid fired a Charge Beam, intercepting a Sludge Bomb mid-air before it could land. Tangrowth roared, sending out a swirling Leaf Tornado that raced toward Elekid.

"Smeargle, Thunderbolt and Gust combo!" Ace commanded while pushing Sin away.

Smeargle reacted instantly, releasing a powerful gust of wind crackling with electricity. The charged gust tore through the Leaf Tornado, scattering the attack harmlessly.

On the other side of the battlefield, Clefairy stood against Sableye, their clash equally intense. Sableye launched a Shadow Ball, but Clefairy countered with Charge Beam, the two attacks exploding mid-air. Spearow darted toward Sableye with a glowing Wing Attack, then mirrored Sableye's previous move, forming a Shadow Ball near its beak thanks to Mirror Move.

"Sableye!" Sin barked, but the Pokémon had no time to react.

The Shadow Ball struck Sableye, staggering it, while Nidoran cut off its escape with a well-aimed Toxic as Sableye was directly sent in the toxic attack by Spearow's wing attack. Sableye screeched as the poisonous attack hit its mark, making it poisoned.

Meanwhile, Sin pressed his attack against Ace, managing to slash across his cheek with the katana. Blood trickled down, but Ace gritted his teeth, spinning his staff in retaliation. The bo staff slammed into Sin's chest, forcing him to stumble back.

Sin laughed as he regained his footing, clutching his chest. "You're shameless, ganging up on my Pokémon like this," he sneered.

Ace smirked, wiping the blood from his cheek. "I learned from a friend that when you're up against someone stronger, you gang up on them," he quipped. Internally, he thought, 'Thank you, Jujutsu Kaisen, for teaching me that valuable life lesson.'

Sin's laughter grew louder, almost unhinged. "Then allow me to even the playing field."

Sin threw four Pokéballs into the air. Drapion, Houndoom, Grimmsnarl, and Krookodile emerged with menacing cries, their presence shifting the atmosphere. Ace's heart raced at the sight of the formidable lineup.

'This is bad. Really bad,' Ace thought, his mind scrambling for a plan.

Just as the Pokémon advanced, a blur of orange crashed into Krookodile, sending it skidding back. A powerful Dragonite roared, standing tall in front of Ace. Moments later, a Garchomp appeared, its fins blocking Drapion's claws with a thunderous clash.

"Houndoom!" Sin yelled, but before it could act, a massive wave of water slammed into it. A Swampert landed gracefully, its eyes fixed on the battlefield.

Grimmsnarl lunged forward, only to be intercepted by a Lucario wielding a glowing Bone Rush. The clash sent Grimmsnarl tumbling back, dazed.

Ace blinked in surprise, a smile breaking across his face as he realized what had happened. "The professors!"

Professor Oak stepped forward, his Dragonite standing protectively by his side. "Thank you for holding him off and saving us, Ace." Oak said.

Sycamore adjusted his glasses, his Garchomp letting out a low growl. "Sin, your reign of terror ends here. The police are on their way."

Rowan nodded, his Lucario twirling its Bone Rush. "You've crossed too many lines, Sin."

"Not to mention," Birch added, his Swampert glaring at Sin. "you underestimated us."

Ace stood back, letting out a relieved sigh as he watched the professors take charge. 'Looks like the cavalry has arrived,' he thought, his confidence returning. He glanced at his Pokémon, who were still battling their opponents.

Ace's eyes stayed on Sableye, assessing its movements. The Dark/Ghost-type had been chipped down by Clefairy, Spearow, and Nidoran's relentless teamwork and the poison was also taking its toll on it, now it was time to finish the battle. "Nidoran, use Poison Tail!" Ace commanded.

Nidoran charged forward, its tail glowing a sickly purple as it whipped through the air towards sableye. The tail struck Sableye squarely, sending it flying backward. The Pokémon landed with a thud, fainted.

"Good job, Nidoran!" Ace praised, briefly glancing at the remaining battle.

Tangrowth, however, was still holding its ground, its vines whipping furiously in all directions. "Elekid, Dynamic Punch!" Ace called out.

Elekid darted forward, electricity sparking as it prepared to electrify the attack. Tangrowth retaliated, shooting its vines toward the Electric-type to intercept. But before they could reach Elekid, Smeargle appeared in a blur, unleashing an Ember attack that burned the vines to ash.

"Nice one, Smeargle!" Ace shouted, a grin forming on his face. Elekid took the opening and slammed its electrified fist into Tangrowth's chest, sending the massive Pokémon hurtling into the air.

"Smeargle, finish it off!" Ace ordered.

Smeargle leaped into the air, its tail glowing with crackling energy. A swirling thunderstorm formed at its tail's tip, a combination of Thunderbolt and Gust. Smeargle spun mid-air before slamming the electrified gust attack onto Tangrowth, striking it with devastating force. The Grass-type crashed to the ground, unconscious.

Ace let out a breath of relief, standing tall as his Pokémon regrouped by his side. "Great work, everyone," he said, his voice filled with pride.

Meanwhile, Sin's other Pokémon—Drapion, Houndoom, Grimmsnarl, and Krookodile—had all been taken down by the professors' Pokémon. Dragonite stood imposingly beside Oak, its eyes locked on Sin. Swampert crossed its arms confidently beside Birch, while Sycamore's Garchomp and Rowan's Lucario watched Sin's every move, ready to attack at a moment's notice.

Sin snarled, his masked face betraying his frustration. The sound of police sirens echoed in the distance, growing louder by the second. His gaze shifted around the battlefield. First, to the professors and their powerful Pokémon. Then, to the girls standing behind them, visibly relieved but still cautious. Finally, his eyes landed on Ace, who now stood confidently beside his Smeargle, his bo staff in hand.

"You've lost, Sin," Professor Rowan declared firmly. "It's over."

Sin let out a low growl before locking eyes with Ace. "You…" he hissed. "You'll pay for this. Mark my words."

Ace didn't flinch, his blue eyes meeting Sin's glare head-on. "I'll be ready," he replied coolly.

Sin smirked under his mask, pulling out a smoke ball from his belt. He slammed it to the ground, and a thick cloud of smoke enveloped the area.

"Dragonite, clear the smoke with Hurricane!" Oak commanded.

Dragonite flapped its massive wings, creating powerful gusts of wind that dispersed the smoke in seconds. As the battlefield cleared, everyone's eyes widened.

Sin stood a few feet away, now beside a sleek Porygon-Z that had materialized out of nowhere. The shimmering glow of Teleport surrounded them, and at Sin's feet lay the Pokéballs containing his fainted Pokémon.

"No!" Ace shouted, rushing forward, but it was too late.

Sin's voice echoed in the air as he vanished with Porygon-Z. "We'll meet again, Ace."

The battlefield fell silent for a moment before Oak turned to Ace, placing a hand on his shoulder. "You did well, Ace. You kept everyone safe and bought us enough time to counter his attack."

Ace nodded, his jaw tightening as he stared at the empty spot where Sin had stood. 'This isn't over yet, SIN!' he thought.
