Chapter 7

Just then, a young, attractive woman in a sexy outfit and red high heels approached the company entrance.

"What's happening?" The woman frowned, unable to keep from inquiring about the disturbance at the door.

The young guard, drawn like a fly to the beautiful director, responded eagerly.

"Director Abigail, he's just a courier. We didn't let him in, but he started to cause a commotion, don't worry, we'll get rid of him as soon as possible and there won't be any harm to the company's image.."

"Courier?" Director Abigail glanced at Erwin with her beautiful eyes. Without waiting for Erwin to respond, Erwin stepped forward and said ,

"I'm not a courier , I'm Mr. Adam's honored guest, please allow me in. I've important matter to convey to him." Erwin turned his attention to the young, attractive director, who being a director, should understand the proper manners.

"What's your name, and do you have an appointment?" Alice asked lightly, her tone more accommodating than the earlier guard.

"My name is Erwin Smith, no appointment needed, just report my name." Erwin's tone made Alice feel he was too presumptuous, but she managed her temper and spoke softly,

"Alright, I'll call and inquiry for you."

She intended to dispatch Erwin swiftly, if he kept causing issues at the entrance, company image could suffer.

Alice pulled out her phone and dialed Adam. The call connected promptly, and to her suprise, Alice's expression shifted to one of astonishment.

In the midst of a discussion, Adam, donned in a suit, nervously hosted a crucial meeting in the conference room. However his expression transformed with excitement upon receiving a call from Alice Abigail, prompting him to instruct, "Arrange the highest level of reception for our guest, I will be down shortly to welcome them personally."

After hanging up, an electrified Adam addressed the conference room,"This meeting will be postponed, as there is something urgent I must attend to."

Leaving behind this statement, Adam disregarding the astonished expression around him, rose from his chair and promptly exited the conference room. Adam hastened along, briskly walking while ensuring his attire was impeccable, as if preparing to meet an eminent guest.

His subordinates were left dumbfounded by the display, as Adam, typically stoic, had never before been witnessed in such an animated state. Their curiosity piqued about the individual Adam was so eagar to meet.

At the entrance of the High Build Group, Alice closed her phone with a bemused look. Being tasked by Mr. Adam to arrange a lavish banquet to host Erwin was wholly unexpected.

The young security guard, presuming Erwin's identity was disclosed, pointed triumphantly, asserting, "Your true colour are showing, aren't they? I told you a loser like you couldn't possibly be Mr. Adam's esteemed guest, go back to delivering your parcels!"

"You're fired!" Alice's temper suddenly flared the foolish guard for not only his lack of self awareness but for rubbing salt into the wound, firing him was the logical step.

"I'm fired, why?" The stupefied young guard couldn't comprehend the turnaround. Wasn't the loser supposed to be the one cast out? Why was he one being dismissed? Could it be that this guy truly was Mr. Adam's honored guest?

This realisation struck the guard as he looked at Erwin again, his gaze filled with such astonishment he was rendered speechless, while the older security officer silently sighed in relief grateful for not interfering, least he be dismissed as well. Erwin, indifferent, paid no mind to the young guard's predicament.
