"Ouch!" Penny yelped as she hit the ground hard, landing violently on the lawn. She winced, crumpled up on the grass, and started questioning her life choices. "Ouch… ouch… that was a freaking bad fall."
She lay there for a moment, lamenting her situation until she managed to recover. It was good that her mind, body, and soul had been well-trained in prison. After all, she used to get beaten up pretty badly when she was what they called "fresh meat."
Even though Penny had already been trained before as a free woman, she initially tried not to fight back, thinking the beatings would eventually stop. She quickly learned it didn't work like that when she was nearly killed in her sleep. That's when she learned to fight back. Still, she wasn't immortal, and she didn't have superpowers to make her immune to the pain and injuries from all the blows and cuts she received in the fights.
