Breakfast

Mia and Yuzuru woke up with Mia's name being called out by a small voice.

The girl rubbed her eyes softly as she woke up and saw Alex's face looking at her with confusion.

"Morning." She mumbled.

"Mommy, I thought you had a room for you."

Yuzuru started laughing and she pinched his waist to make him stop, it wasn't funny that she had to explain to her son why she chose to spend the night sharing a bed.

"I was a bit cold." She ended up telling her son and saw Yuzu smirk at the poor excuse.

"But it's summer..."

"And I wanted to be next to Yuzuru."

"Why?"

"Because your mom likes me a lot and my hugs, help her sleep." Yuzuru tried helping out.

"You're okay with that, right?"

"As long as you're happy, I don't mind."

Mia smiled at her kid before stretching out on the bed.

"Can we have breakfast? I'm hungry."

"Is that why you're up so early?" He just nodded and Mia reluctantly got up from the bed and took one of Yuzuru's shirts that was hanging on a chair to cover her nightgown.

"Stealing from me?" He joked.

"Don't pretend you mind."

"You look good, why would I?"

Mia looked at him pointedly and just called Alex to get to the kitchen.

Yuzuru wasn't lying when he said he barely had food at home.

"Yuzu" she called out and saw his head peak in the kitchen.

"Yes, my angel?"

"Is this all you have?" She asked and he just shrugged his shoulders.

"Sorry, I don't cook that much and I was away for a week so..."

"Maybe we should go grocery shopping before breakfast."

"Let's go out, I know a few nice places around. We can go shopping after."

"Okay." Mia said with a smile as he came to kiss her lips. "I guess we should get dressed then."

"Hum hum."

"Mommy..."

"Alex, go get dressed, you can do that by yourself, Right?"

"I can! I'm grown up now Mom!"

She chuckled at him and Yuzuru had his hands around her almost immediately as soon as Alex turned on his back.

"Good morning." He whispered in her ear.

"Haven't I said it already?"

"Yeah... I guess... But it's a really good morning."

"I can agree with that"

"How are you feeling?" He asked with concern. "Nothing hurts?"

"Yuzu... Are you serious?"

"Just checking..."

"No, everything is fine. Better than fine actually. I had a great time last night."

"Me too"

"Hum... Let's go get dressed before we get carried away and have to explain things to Alex."

"Ok, ok. Just one more kiss."

One kiss turned into a bit of a makeout session that Mia ended up breaking after a few minutes.

"Yuzu... Come on..."

"Ok, ok... Got it"

They got changed into different bedrooms and Mia was certain it was for the best. The way he had been staring at and touching her that morning was a recipe for them to end up in bed once again.

Alex wouldn't forgive her if he didn't get his breakfast soon.

After everyone was ready and a short walking distance later they were sitting in a small pastry shop.

The owner was very nice and didn't blink twice when she saw Yuzuru come in. She greeted them politely and told them to sit wherever they wanted.

Not long after, she was asking what they wanted to eat.

Mia wouldn't be surprised if she ended up gaining a few pounds in Japan, the food was delicious and anyone fond of deserts was probably doomed from the very moment they stepped into the country.

She ended up getting a strawberry shortcake since it was too delicious not to get and Alex went with a chocolate-covered donut.

Yzuuru just chose some kind of fruit thing since he apparently avoids eating pastries and things with sugar before shows.

"You do realize you're very skinny? I don't think a slice of cake would change that."

"It's not because of that. I just feel like whenever I eat things that are a bit more unhealthy that things just go wrong, like bad luck."

Mia couldn't believe what she was hearing but she wasn't just going to fight about it either. Yuzuru had done things a certain way during his whole life and she wasn't going to be the one changing that.

Not ruining the mood, she didn't say anything else about the subject. The lady that served them came a few more times to the table constantly asking if they needed anything else. The poor woman was a sweetheart and it was easy to tell that she admired the skater.

The debate on things they didn't agree on didn't end there, when it came to the time to pay for groceries, they had a whole small fight about who would pay, Yuzuru insisting that there was no way he would ever allow her to pay it herself because she was his guest.

Mia was an independent woman, she had been forced to be, after all. Suddenly being dependent on a man was not something she liked or appreciated.

"But Yuzu... I don't need to be taken care of."

"No, you don't, but you can still accept it when someone tries to gift you something. You know it's rude to deny gifts?"

"So, groceries are gifts?"

"If that's the only way you will take this without complaining."

Mia chuckled and hugged him briefly.

"I will pay if we need anything else."

"No you won't, but it's cute that you think so."

"It's not fair..."

"Stop complaining and take it, you know I'm even more stubborn than you. There's no point in trying."

It was almost funny that their first fight was like this, but it was just another piece of evidence of how well they had gotten along and how inherent the love was.

The thing was, not everything is always under their control and external factors can be more dangerous than anything else.
