And just like the night before, Mia and Yuzu fell asleep embraced and warm against each other. Alex's small body occupied as much space as both of them as he splayed himself in the king-size bed.
The difference the next morning was that the young boy woke up before his mother and the man holding her.
Alex watched them for a few minutes before getting bored and jumping on the bed, more than enough to wake them both up.
"What is going on? Mia asked confused as she rubbed her eyes.
"I think your son got bored." Yuzuru answered chuckling as he looked at the boy that had a satisfied smile on his face.
"Morning!" Alex said excitedly "Can we go to Disney today?" He asked immediately after making both adults laugh.
"I have to check the tickets and everything, but I think so."
"It's the best day for you to go if you want to watch all shows. Disney is huge, you need at least a whole day there." Yuzuru said, trying to help as much as he could, knowing fully well that he couldn't go with them.
"I guess today is the day... We will bring you a Pooh bear." Mia joked and Yuzuru widened his eyes.
"Did you google me?"
"Alex showed me the pooh rain or whatever they call it, I had questions."
He nodded in understanding before pouting.
"I wish I could go... Maybe some other time."
"I'm sure we will have a chance someday."
Just as planned and with Yuzu's precious help, Mia managed to buy the tickets online and find the best way to get to the park. A short bus ride later and they were in front of the huge theme park that the woman was immediately sure that they wouldn't be able to see fully.
Disney in Tokyo had another park right beside the traditional one, Disney Sea, and this was something unique to the Japanese version.
Since this was completely different from the other Disney Parks, the two decided to focus their visit on it, knowing that even like this it would be hard to see everything.
It was truly a world inside and it was quite hard to decide what to do first.
They went to most of the attractions, from the Mysterious Island to the Mermaid Lagoon, and even with limited time, they were able to watch a few of the exhibitions and shows that happened over the course of the day.
They got some boat rides and even managed to meet a few of the characters, that Alex happily took pictures with.
Even the food was fun, inspired by a few of Disney's characters, and often shaped accordingly. It was not only fun but also delicious.
At night, the park was even more incredible, with all the lights shining, and the exhibition of "Believe! Sea of Dreams" was one of the coolest things they had both ever experienced.
In the end, the choice of going to Disney Sea instead of doing both parks was definitely the right one, even if they often recommended this park to older children, Alex had a great time and loved every single second of the experience.
In the end, they had plenty of memories and pictures of this day that would stay forever as a special one.
Money well spent.
Mia truly only remembered Yuzuru on the trip back home and she almost felt guilty for ignoring his texts most of the day. The poor guy didn't deserve that.
The last text only read 'I hope you had a good time. I will see you tomorrow'
Mia's heart sank, it felt as if he was pulling away and she had gotten so used to having him by her side in bed on the past nights that she wasn't sure if sleep would come easily this time.
And she wasn't wrong.
While Alex fell asleep in bed almost right away, Mia stirred the whole night and barely batted an eye. It was just that too many thoughts filled her head, thoughts of him and whether he was mad or not.
And it was only when light filled the room again that she noticed that the whole night had passed and she didn't sleep a whole hour.
"Good morning" she heard her son say at her side.
"Hi, baby."
"It's show day, mom!"
He was excited, as he always was and Mia barely had the energy to nod.
When did she allow a man to take over her life like this? She had promised herself that this wouldn't happen after Nyck, and yet, here she was, losing sleep over a man.
Not that she could compare them both.
Yuzuru was nothing like Nyck.
It was unfair to compare.
And just as those thoughts consumed her, the doorbell rang.
It was reluctantly that Mia got up from bed and dragged herself to the door. When she opened it, Yuzuru's smiley face graced her view with a few bags in his hands and she instantly regretted everything that had been on her head.
"Good morning!" He said happily. Well, until he looked at her properly.
"Mia? Are you ok?"
Tears filled her eyes immediately, why did she think of the worst right away when Yuzuru had given her no reason to think that way?
His arms were around her in seconds and she cried in his shoulder.
"You're making me worried, beautiful. What's going on? Did anyone do anything? You didn't like Disney?"
"Sorry, Yuzu. I'm so stupid."
