‘‘Cheol, please promise me that you won’t tell mom or Billy about this…’’ I stared at him hopefully.

‘‘I don't know anything about your boyfriend, so why would I want to speak with him?’’ he stated. ‘‘But about your mom—-?’’

‘‘Please…?’’

Cheol nodded reluctantly. ‘‘I understand... I will respect your decision that you don’t want to let her know about the incident, but until when are you planning to stay here?’’

‘‘I’m planning to stay here until I graduate from college...?’’ I declared, but I wasn’t really sure about it.

‘‘What?’’ he asked in surprise. ‘‘That's a little too long... I don't think your mother will be on board with this.’’

‘‘She doesn't have a choice... Whether she agrees or not, she has to accept it...’’ I said as I heaved out a sigh ‘‘You know…I'm actually asking myself…Why did Dad have to die? Why did mom have to marry again?’’
