Right Words

When Derek had left the penthouse headed to the diner, his decision had been clear. He was going to go straight into Bee's diner, find Emily, apologize to her again and explain everything that had been going on to show her that when he had asked to sleep with her. He'd had nothing but pure intentions.

That had been it. 

His entire plan stripped down to just the bare necessities. Nothing fancy added on top. He had wanted to just go in, say what he needed to say, and then just hope for the best possible outcome.

But during the drive to Bee's, his mind had started thinking of all the different things that could go wrong. And at the end of it, he had decided that despite his plan to speak from the heart, that would have been something very unwise to do.

Afterall, Derek was a firm believer that in any situation. People who were most likely to succeed often did one simple thing. They had their hearts and their minds consult before they made big decisions.
