The Windsors were an autocratic family.

In this sense, the majority of decisions were always made by the head of the family and were final for the rest of the members. At least, that was the case until a few years ago when Zackael showed a different path than that of birthright coupled with talent to ascend to the family's throne.

He had taken control of the colossal power held by the family council to overthrow his brother and father, but unfortunately, in doing so, he taught the latter how to use that power against him.

So, even though he was now recognized as the patriarch of the Windsors, Zackael was forced to attend hastily organized councils, like today, when the decision-making members sensed that they might have a different opinion than his on a matter.
