VALENCIA'S POV

I looked at the man in pure amazement as he pulled me up in his embrace. His features were enhanced in the moonlight, giving me a picturesque view of his illuminating side profile, like the first full moon of my happy life.

Tomorrow was a Blue Moon, so maybe that was why the moon was shining so bright tonight.

Or maybe it was because I was going in heat that Maverick looked so magnificent to me. 

I mean, he always looks handsome, but today he was just looking like someone I want to—

"Will you throw me in the chilling water to calm my heat?" I asked.

Maverick paused and looked into my eyes.

A smirk appeared on his face.

It was one of those evil smirks full of mischievousness, and I couldn't help but feel giddiness taking over my heart as the sudden feeling of butterflies in my stomach overwhelmed me in anticipation of what he had in mind.
