Chapter 27 - Second Day 05.

[Chapter Size: 1800 Words.]

Third Person POV

Hogwarts.

...

...

Snape was just a bit hesitant, looking at the professor who stared back at him with some hope, hoping he would accept the invitation to the monthly meeting.

"Maybe, professor, I still don't know. I'll think about it," he commented calmly, but also did not refuse.

Slughorn was a bit surprised, but nodded. "Ah, of course, of course. I'll let you think about it and give me an answer as soon as you can," he said, with some hope that Snape might attend after all he always refused, until now.

"Well, I'll be going, professor," Snape announced, turning to leave.

"OK, you're dismissed," he said, as he began to prepare his desk to leave. After all, this was the last class of the day.

Snape left, and ran into someone, Minerva McGonagall was waiting for him.

He stared at her seeing she looked quite furious. "Mr. Snape, I came here to find out what happened with my students, after all they did not show up for any class today, due to a photo that shows them in the infirmary with many itching problems, do you have something to do with this?" She asked with a fierce look.

"Minerva? What is this?" Slughorn came out of the room and heard a bit of what Professor McGonagall had said, leaving him surprised with her approach towards Snape.

"I have some students from my house with a serious effect from itching powder, they were hit and said it was Snape the author of the act and that he used magic." She said dissatisfied turning back to Snape.

"Yes, I am the cause of this." Snape commented without any fear.

"You admitted it was you, Mr. Snape, I'm taking 50 points from Slytherin for attacking a student!" She said sternly.

"Wait a minute Minerva, you can't just take points from my student like that." He said with a tone showing a bit of anger.

"He admitted, Professor Slughorn. I see no reason why I can't do this." She said.

"Honestly..." Snape began, catching the attention of both professors. "I don't care about the points, take as many as you want." Snape said leaving Professor McGonagall speechless, after all, for her, all students should be intimidated by the points, or almost all...

Snape continued. "But it's strange, why were your students like this near the spell room on the third floor? I thought Gryffindor would be in the greenhouse with Professor Sprout and Hufflepuff. Why were your students waiting for me in front of my class a bit before the class started?" Snape asked looking into her eyes.

"That..." For the second time, Minerva was speechless, Slughorn looked at Minerva.

"I didn't know your students followed others to be attacked, Minerva." He said and looked at Snape. "Tell me exactly what happened."

"I was going to class, when I was approached by 4 individuals waiting for me in a hallway, there was a bladder in the air levitating with magic." He started calmly. "When I got close enough, they appeared and tried to throw the bladder at me, using a paralysis spell, I stuck them to the ground after a protection spell and caught the bladder before throwing it at them, ending up with 4 cowardly fools." Snape spoke without caring how the professor looked at him angrily.

"You must not insult students like that, Mr. Snape!" She said in her usual tone.

"You know, 4 people to face one student, if that's not cowardly, I'd like you to define what that word means to me, I thought your house represented bravery, which I see nothing in your students and nor in your self-protection with your little lions." Snape taunted.

"I will not tolerate this kind of..." She began but was interrupted right after.

"Minerva! Stop being irrational!" Slughorn couldn't take it anymore. "You're not seeing all your irrational self-protections, even punishing a student without due proof of all the facts, if you want it this way, so be it. I take 50 points from each of the students who attacked Snape while they cowardly attacked Snape while he was going to class." Slughorn said angrily.

"You can't be serious?!" Minerva appeared shocked.

"Not only am I serious, but I am also doing it. If you want to take points from my student just like that, don't mind if I do the same. And if you want to reverse the situation, feel free to complain to the headmaster and let him come talk to me." He said with a severe tone to the still shocked professor.

"Now you understand why I don't respect you." Snape commented on the side.

Slughorn sighed and nodded. "Let's go." He said.

Slughorn and Snape walked past Professor Minerva, who looked at him and clenched her fist, "This cannot end like this!!" She said not wanting to lose 200 points from her house, that would be a tragedy.

"Why do these people care so much about points?" Snape commented observing the irrational behavior of the professor.

"Most do, unfortunately. Anyway, let me know if they try anything more." He spoke looking at the student.

"I can take care of myself, be it student, professor, or even the headmaster." Snape said with a shrug.

"I know you can, but it's good I'm aware of things... Anyway, I'm going to stop by somewhere before heading to the common room, so I won't accompany you there now, Snape. See you later." He said as he parted from Snape who continued his way after nodding.

Snape continued walking until he arrived at a corridor with no students as most of them were heading to the common room, but there was a presence there. "You can come out." He said calmly.

A second later, a person came out from one of the pillars, it was a girl with blonde hair and Slytherin robes, she was older, but had a similar appearance to Snape with age after his transformation.

"I heard your conversation with Professor Minerva, you've changed as much as others have been saying." She said looking at him.

"Narcissa Black." Snape commented recalling his memories.

"Hmm? Why call me like that, it seems like we've never met before." She said while continuing to look at him.

"You shouldn't be here, what do you want?" He said.

"Since when did you become so rude?" She complained, "I heard you simply dismissed Lucius, wanted to see for myself how you've changed, my sister won't stop talking about you and I see you've stood up to the deputy headmistress, I'm impressed." She said with a small smile.

"..." Snape did not respond to her.

"What a bore, can we talk for a bit? I wanted to talk to you." She said pouting seeing that Snape was quite inflexible now.

Snape sighed, he was planning to go to the common room as he had nothing else to do tonight at the school, but now with the girl's invitation, he thought he might talk to her, after all, she was one of the few people who accepted Snape without seeing some benefit from his talent, perhaps the only one in Slytherin. "Alright. Lead the way." He said and she nodded with a wider smile.

"Follow me." She said and Snape followed her going to an empty room.

Elsewhere, the headmaster was dealing with a tense situation, in front of him, Minerva was complaining about everything that happened between the conversation of Snape, Slughorn, and her.

"He had the audacity to say he didn't care about the house points! And Professor Slughorn said he would take 200 points from my lions! That's unfair!" She complained looking at him hoping he would do something.

Dumbledore sighed, "I've heard about your students, but I heard it really happened as described by Snape..." He had to admit.

"But... 200 points?!" She said regretfully.

"I will speak to Professor Slughorn, then we will talk." He said wanting to dismiss her while waiting for another guest to arrive.

"Alright, ... I'll take my leave." She said as she began to descend the stairs and Albus continued his things, until his phoenix Fawkes finally notified him of a new guest waiting at the entrance of the stairs.

He looked at the phoenix with a satisfied smile. "Oh, it seems she has finally arrived," he commented, as he opened the passage for the person to enter. Who quickly began to ascend the stairs, while running her fingers through her red hair with the movements. Lily finally emerged from the professor's room.

"Lily, my dear, how are you?" Albus asked with a grandfatherly smile.

"Headmaster... I'm well...," she commented.

"Come here, my girl, let's talk. How about a lemon drop?" he said, handing it to her, which she ended up accepting and putting in her mouth.

"My dear, I am worried. There are many things happening at the school at the moment, it's leaving me a bit thoughtful about some things," he spoke calmly, hoping she would understand what he was implying.

"It's about Snape, isn't it?" Lily asked, already understanding what these things happening might be, since her former friend is on everyone's lips, no matter the house.

"Well, I know he is a delicate subject. I didn't want to talk about this, but I am worried about him. He's so different, much more than he should be," Dumbledore commented with a glint in his eyes, waiting for Lily to speak.

"Yes, I think so too," she admitted sincerely, after all, even wanting to resist, she couldn't after eating Dumbledore's lemon drop with truth serum inside. "He's too different." She spoke.

"What do you really think of him, doesn't he seem like another person...?" he spoke, but did not complete, waiting for Lily to understand.

"You mean there's another person inside him? Yes, I think so too," she said with a tone of certainty.

"So, you think so too?" He wanted to be sure.

"Snape would never act the way he is acting, no matter what..." she spoke.

"That's good..." He continued, "So, I would like you to do something for me, my girl, something that could help us free Snape."

"What is it, professor?" she asked.

"I want you to try to get close to him again and find out everything. We need to find out everything before we act." He spoke after all he felt with the boy, Professor McGonagall failed, but Lily might be more successful.

Dumbledore was determined to find out who this person was if not Snape. And he feared someone even more powerful emerging in this world, not wanting to face someone even worse than Voldemort.
