Shadow couldn't bear to part with Van.

Their bond with the mermaid cub grew stronger daily, and they spent all their time together.

Shadow reached out and took Van from Lora's arms, holding him close.

Then it asked Van, "When it's safe on my side, would you like to come and play with me at my home?"

The mermaid cub curiously asked, "Is your home fun?"

Shadow paused, turning to look at Donald and the others.

Donald and the others exchanged glances, wanting to say that their side wasn't really fun, and it was even quite scary.

But seeing Shadow's expression, they immediately nodded and said, "It's very fun!"

Now, Shadow was satisfied, and Van was happy too.

They finally agreed that Shadow would leave with Donald and the others first, and once Shadow resolved the issues with the insect race, they would invite Van to play.
