Jessamyn's heart pounded in her chest as she gently placed the shirt back in the drawer, her hands trembling with a mix of excitement and nervousness. She wiped her tears away, trying to compose herself.
The soft thudding grew louder, and she could hear the faint creak of the wooden floor. Each step he took echoed in her heart, amplifying the emotions swirling inside her.
Jessamyn stood up, smoothing her dress and taking a deep breath. She walked to the doorway, her steps light and hesitant.
She did wonder if he wouldn't be pleased she barged into his private sanctuary.
