Ezra collected the scroll that Oliver held out, he unraveled it, and read through it.
"Hey, get going already, do you want to read it here?" Oliver asked, startling Ezra.
"Are you chasing me out?" Ezra asked.
"Well I was busy when you came, so get going," Oliver said.
"Fine." Ezra turned around and left the dojo.
"Next on my agenda is dealing with Leo, I'll make sure to make it a hard time for him."
Ezra headed home, he got into his room and safely kept the scroll in his wardrobe. He then headed for his sister's room.
Knock knock,
"Yeah come in," Lisa responded.
Ezra opened the door and saw his sister getting ready in front of a mirror, she was setting her gown properly.
"Seems you are ready to go, have you spoken to him?" Ezra asked.
"Yeah, he is waiting for us at the town square," Lisa responded.
"So you saw him today, why the need to get dressed up to see him again?" Ezra asked.
Lisa blushed when she heard that, but she quickly collected herself.
"Well now you are there, I have to cover for both of us and look good because I know that you won't get dressed up," Lisa responded.
"This isn't a date, I want to see him." Ezra pointed out.
"Fine, let's get going," Lisa said.
They informed their mum that they were heading out. They walked towards the town square, the most active place in the town.
There was a beautiful fountain at the center of the square, it was a marble mage lady casting a spell with her staff.
Lisa noticed Leo at the fountain and tapped Ezra on his arm.
"There he is." She pointed to a blonde boy with eyes as blue as the sea. He had a calm refined look, dressed in a black and gold suit, it seemed that he really prepared for this meeting.
'it's a ten on looks, at least that is acceptable.'
"Leo!" Lisa called out to him, Leo looked around when he heard his name, then he saw Lisa and Ezra. He got up immediately and walked towards them.
He had a calm smile on his face, and Ezra had the urge to really tear down that smile.
"Hey, good day." Leo bowed slightly and stretched out his hand to shake Ezra.
'He seems smart, he came to me first, seems he understands that I am the force of decision here.'
After the greeting, Leo proceeded to talk.
"I am Leonardo Bret, and I like your sister."
'He has so much confidence, he oozes of confidence honestly, let me see how far he can go.'
"Oh, I see, straight to the point. Well now tell me, what do you like about her exactly?" Ezra asked the time-old question that fathers asked whenever it came to their daughter dating.
"Well you see, she is beautiful for one, but that is not all. I have watched her for some time, and she amazes me.
She is hardworking and very nice, I know this is little, but that is what I like about her." Leo explained.
'This kid, he is smooth, if I refused him now, I would be the bad guy.'
Ezra looked at his sister and saw that she was blushing very hard.
"Now, let's leave that stuff, I have no issues with you liking her, but there are some rules that you must follow.
You must make it to the academy, she told me that you are also taking the exams. You must prove that you have what it takes to protect her.
The next thing is her happiness, it must come first. Let me promise you here that the day that she cries, I'll kill you."
Leo shivered in response, he didn't understand why, but his body and mind believed what Ezra said, he was certain that Ezra would kill him.
"I promise, her happiness will come first, no matter what," Leo assured.
"Good, now the next thing is a question, do you plan to have other lovers in the future?" Ezra asked.
Leo paused for a moment and then answered.
"No, I want to love her and her alone. I promise that I will not take up another woman aside from her." Leo said resolutely.
Lisa yelped and covered her face when she heard that.
"Your mouth was what said it, I didn't force you, I didn't push you, I didn't drive to it.
The day that another woman replaces my sister in your life, death will be the least of your worries.
I will make you wish for death, yet you will never see it."
Leo subconsciously took a step back when he heard that, but he steadied himself and out on a confident face.
"I will keep to my word," Leo said.
After the meeting, Ezra and Lisa headed home, Lisa was pouting while they walked.
"Why the sour expression?" Ezra asked.
"You didn't have to warn him that much, you scared him."
"If that was all it took to scare him, then he wasn't ready. He was able to stand even under ally threats, I love his spirit." Ezra spoke.
"You spoke as if you aren't the same age as us."
"If only you knew," Ezra muttered.
"Huh? Did you say something?" Lisa asked.
"No, not at all," Ezra responded.
'It's been weeks since I came here, and truthfully it has been something else.
I have become a cold person that only seeks benefits for myself and my family, at least I take them as family.
I thought I would push away everybody when I came to this world, but I just some days they changed my plans.
I may not be the real Ezra Blackwood, but I promise to be the next best thing for them.
I will rise to the top, and make sure that no one will make me bow, no one will make my family bow.'
Ezra and Lisa got home, now they could begin training for the academy.
