After hearing about what the speech was all about, Troy looked down to see what his number was. Seeing that it was number 57, he decided to sit down and wait. Just as the first person was about to pick their Pokémon, the clown-looking member interrupted, "Just before I forget, my name is Jester, and I will be in charge of this test site, and a little tip: try not opening your pokeball just yet to see what Pokémon they are as they were caught in the wild."
Hearing that last bit of information, Troy decided to take it with caution. While waiting, Troy was thinking about what the five main Pokémon would be. Remembering what team rocket he could think of only Zubat, Kofting, Grimer, Rattata, and Ekans, while thinking of what Pokémon to go with, Troy could only hope to pick a powerful one...
Waiting in the corner, Troy was deciding which Pokémon would best fit his team, deciding that ekans and rattata are probably a no-go for their final evolutions unless the rattata was an Alolan, which Troy highly doubted that only left koffing, grimer, and zubat. Still thinking about what to choose, Troy had heard his number being called out, so he just decided to pick which Pokémon he could get.
As Troy was walking up to the front to pick up his Pokémon, his eyes started to hurt. Feeling light-headed, Troy looked like he was about to pass out but forcibly stopped himself from taking another step. Jester, seeing this, could only ask, "Sorry to hurry you up, but please choose a Pokémon so other people can pick after you." Hearing this, Troy apologized just as he looked back up. He could only be surprised, as what he saw was amazing, like the pokeballs were showing different colors. Troy quickly tried to get the surprised look off his face before anyone would notice.
As Troy got his poker face back on, he looked around to see what pokeball to choose. Seeing what looked to be about 5 different colors to see, Troy could only see green, blue, red, silver, and gold. Seeing that Troy was taking forever, Jester once again told him, "Do hurry up, or I will pick you up."
Not wanting to waste any more time, Troy could only see about four gold colors showing up on the pokeball, deciding to go with one of them. Troy, seeing that there was no gold in the zubat and grimer lines, could only choose from rattata, koffing, and ekans, not wasting any time. Troy had chosen koffing as weezling is the superior Pokémon in its late stage.
After choosing Koffing, which had the gold color showing, Troy decided to wait for everyone else to get their Pokémon so they could move onto the next stage. After about an hour, everyone seemed to have chosen their Pokémon. Just as Jester began to talk, everyone had heard an explosion in the back. Turing to see what happened, everyone could only hear Jester say, "Like I said, try not to open your Pokémon until I say so. Well, let's continue. The next stage is for you to tame your Pokémon and keep it under control, or you may end up dead like what happened to that person."
Troy, seeing the dead body, could only gulp, knowing the only Pokémon that would explode was none other. then koffing. Jester then began to explain where the training areas are: "Also, before I forget again, there will be a tournament to see which of you will be on top within the organization; there may also be rewards for the people who come first; well, now I will see you all in a month."
Hearing all this, Troy could only wait before releasing his Pokémon. Soon, team Rocket members started to show the new recruits where they would be staying, as well as the training grounds and cafeteria. Once the tour was over, Troy started to head over to the training center, seeing that the training ground was as big as a football stadium so people could have room to train their Pokémon. Going into a corner, Troy sent out his Pokémon, only to be surprised by what came out of the pokeball!
Looking down, Troy could not believe his eyes, as what Pokémon was meant to be a koffing somehow turned out to be a weedle. Seeing this, Troy could only think, "Why do I have a weedle of all Pokémon? No, no, this is okay; it was glowing gold, so it must be good, right?"
In the corner of the training grounds, a camera could be seen watching the newbies. Among them were a couple of elite team members, and one of them was Jester. Seeing one of the screens on the top right, Jester could only start chuckling out loud, alerting the other members, "Well, this test is going to be interesting this year."
