chapter 8 (supper with a murderer)

Percy dodged a spin from the mad hunter. Gascoigne had gotten blood drunk, as Percy knew he would.

Right now it was his official "test". Eileen was keeping Gascoigne's wife a distance away from harm.

A near miss happened as Gascoigne slammed his axe into the ground. He was making animalistic noises too, which frankly creeped Percy out.

This time as Gascoigne went to do his spinning attack, Percy raised his gun and shot him directly in the face.

With his posture broken, Percy went in and drove his saw blade deep into Gascoigne's stomach.

Gascoigne grabbed Percy by the neck before he could pull away and threw Percy through the graves and into a wall.

Percy had just enough time to dodge before Gascoigne's axe slammed where he was originally.

Percy pulled out Artemis's dagger and now took a stance he was familiar with. Eileens.

Lunares mortem huh?

A fitting name for a blade. Lunar death in English. And Percy will certainly cause a lot of death.

Although Percy was not as quick as Eileen, he had the coolness factor of it. When Gascoigne attacked, Percy was able to punish him, hard.

Percy felt more comfortable with a dagger than the saw blade, and when Percy had the chance, he yanked out his saw cleaver, much to the wife's displeasure.

She was about to yell out for him, but out of the corner of my vision, I saw Eileen cover her mouth.

Huh... Wonder how I noticed that.

Percy dropped to the floor again as Gascoigne did his spin again. This time as Percy rolled, he slashed Gascoigne's ankles.

This caused Gascoigne to stumble, and his healing was noticeably slower. Percy was able to get a parry off, and this time Gascoigne transformed.

"Oh fuck," Percy said as he was slammed into the ground.

Percy's foot was broken and twisted out of shape, but the pain barely registered. Percy used the momentum of the slam and slid between Gascoigne's legs.

Percy stood and his leg burned in pain, but Percy adjusted himself to Gascoigne's burst of speed.

Gascoigne had leaped in the air and tried to tackle Percy. But you know what they say, a trick only works once.

Percy planted his feet into Gascoigne's chest and launched him into the wall, where Percy was ready to meet him.

Percy rode on his back and no matter the struggle Gascoigne had in him, Percy just stabbed... And stabbed.

Finally, Gascoigne had stopped moving. But Percy made sure, just in case he let the wife come and Gascoigne tried to go for her.

"Not bad. You certainly are more skilled with a dagger than I gave you credit for," Eileen said.

The wife knelt at her husband's corpse. Softly caressing his face with tears streaming down her face.

"Thank you," she softly whispered, her eyes met Percy for a couple of seconds.

"No problem ma'am. I deeply apologize for your loss tonight. Yharnam lost a good hunter tonight," Percy said apologetically with a bow.

The woman smiled at Percy, and Percy flinched. The smile was the one his mother gave to him when she was in a lot of pain.

"Thank you truly, Hunter... No, good hunter. Thank you truly," she said as she wiped her tears away. She pulled Percy into a soft but kind hug.

Even Eileen stood beside the Gascoigne body. She even removed her mask, after all, you had to respect a fellow hunter.

"Ma'am, I believe it's time for us to escort you home. Your daughters are waiting for your return. It's the least we can do," Percy said.

The wife nodded her head and smiled as she wiped her tears.

"Yes... I suppose it is time. Oh, I hope you can stay for some supper... We were just waiting on... Ah, never mind. I know you hunters are busy," the wife offered.

"I would be honored to join you for supper ma'am. I just need to... Freshen up," Percy said as he once again took an apologetic bow.

Eileen gave him a nod and placed her hand on the wife's shoulder.

"I shall see to her safe return. Go freshen up, and for kos sake ask the messengers for some better clothes," Eileen said as she pinched the brick of her nose.

*Snort*

"That I shall. I suppose it is time to return to the dream," Percy said as he gazed upon the lamp.

With that, Percy waited for Eileen and the wife to disappear before fully returning to the dream.

...

Percy sighed as he entered the dream, and now he was thinking of where exactly he would change. I mean there wasn't anywhere to do it.

So eventually, he chose a place out of eyeshot of the doll and gehrman. Off came his starting clothes and on came his hunter clothes.

Hunter's hat, hunter's garb, hunter gloves, and hunter trousers.

Man, this place has drip. He was sure Eileen was right, he would be unrivaled in the drip department.

Finally finished with that Percy went to the doll once more, and got his level up.

Vitality, endurance, and 2 skills. That's the upgrade that Percy went with.

Percy could level up his strength naturally by exercising, but those he couldn't.

"May you have a peaceful time in the waking world good hunter," the doll said in her soothing voice of hers.

"I will," Percy smiled before taking off his hat and then he stood on the bricks behind the doll and put his hat on her head.

May the doll share his drip too.

"I'll be here in a bit. Don't miss me too much," Percy chuckled

"...you are far nicer than the last hunter that came. The last one kept calling me a waifu, or mumbling about spin to win," the doll said as she adjusted her new hat on her. Her old one laid on the bricks behind her.

Percy for once gave his signature lopsided grin, one without pain or torment. Just happiness.

"I aim to please," Percy said before taking an exaggerated bow. But it was a playful one and not a sarcastic one.

...

"This is truly some remarkable tea ma'am," Percy said as he took a sip of his tea.

[Skill {manners} has reached level 6]

"Thank you, dear... My daughter made it for us," the woman said.

Percy's eyes gazed over to the woman's oldest daughter who only gave a nod of her head.

Eileen also sat at the supper table. Both our hunter equipment were left at the door, out of respect.

The wife, whose name was Mary, let out a Chuckle. She got up got out a bag of tea and handed them to Percy.

"...for putting my husband to rest. It's the least we can offer," Mary said as she smiled softly.

"Ah thank you. I'll make sure to cherish this gift, and hopefully pay it back one day," Percy said. He was about to bow, but Mary stopped him.

Mary hugged him, and Percy's hands reluctantly hugged the woman back.

"Oh, what I would give to have a son like you. Your mother must be a lucky woman," Mary said softly.

Percy smiled at the mention of her mother.

"Oh, she's the best-" Percy began ranting on and on about his mother.

Percy was also able to learn how to make the tea that Luna (the oldest daughter) made.

Eventually, though, the duo had to leave. Mainly because Percy had shit to do.

"Mmm, I suppose you're waking up," Eileen said as Percy's body began disappearing.

"I'll be here in 24 hours or so. Dont go dying on me yet," Percy slaved before disappearing.

"Oh, I don't plan to," Eileen's soft whisper came out.

(End of chapter.)

A/N might be less quality. But I'm tired and didn't sleep. Also, the names of Gascoignes family weren't mentioned, so I created three names for them.

Violet: the youngest (8)

Luna: the oldest (17)

Mary: Gascoigne's wife. (??) {Milf}
