The Cursed House

Suffolk County

This country hosted a house that was presumed to be cursed.

"Hey, Drew, could you put this in that backpack?"

Ed, who hadn't been very active lately, took an infrared camera from his backpack and handed it to his assistant to position it in a spot in the house where good shots could be taken.

"I can handle it." Drew nodded without any issue; he was very relaxed after the previous job, which was absolutely nothing out of the ordinary.

Seeing this, Ed also took another instrument capable of recording videos from the ground beneath his feet. He placed it in the special backpack where he kept more delicate equipment and let Drew take care of it, as he had been doing for a long time.

The layout of the living room in this particular house is not different from what you see every day, except for antique furniture scattered everywhere. Even the tablecloth on the table is of ancient style.

Following the position of the table, a complete set of sofas can be found.

Several people were already sitting on the sofa. Lorraine, who had called Anton, was sitting in front of a family, stroking the back of the affected woman beside her while asking her some questions.

Ed raised his eyebrows slightly. It had been almost a week since they learned what happened here. Now the situation in this house is very clear, so the intervention of a priest was needed.

Like the previous supernatural events, a series of strange things began to happen after this house got a new owner when the previous one left the house without taking anything from inside.

They always heard footsteps walking on the walkway outside every night. Initially, the owner of this house, Mrs. Isabella, could hear the steps. She thought they were her son's steps and didn't take it seriously.

But from that night on, she heard the steps; the heavy footsteps would always sound punctually at the same exact time every night.

Mrs. Isabella finally felt that something was wrong, and one day she decided to open the door of her room directly. As a result, there was no one in the hallway, but she felt that an invisible someone was standing in the dark hallway staring at her.

At that moment, Mrs. Isabella began to feel fear; the feeling of being locked in a house with something unknown in it began to cause horror.

The next day, the steps sounded again at the same time, and at that moment, Isabella opened the door again courageously. However, there was still no one in the hallway, but this time that presence was closer to her, and she could feel it.

On the third day, the steps continued to be heard at the same time, one step closer each time. The fourth day was even closer, and at that moment, Isabella was reaching the limit of what she could endure.

The problem was that only she could hear those steps; her son Orlando couldn't hear anything all this time.

It wasn't until the seventh day that the situation changed completely. In the middle of the night, Mateo, Isabella's husband, was the one who actually heard those steps his wife had been mentioning all this time.

Taking this seriously, he opened the door, but the steps remained the same, and the hallway was empty. But as his wife said, Mateo felt that something was watching him, and the worst part was that it couldn't be seen, but it was very close.

On the eighth day, their son Orlando also started to hear footsteps.

Mateo finally believed everything his wife said, but before calling for help, he first went to a church for assistance. However, since they are not believers in the church, the church will only send people to perform exorcism rituals if they can provide evidence of supernatural events, not just suspicions of common people.

Desperate, the family had no choice but to return home, but with fear still lingering within them, they decided to sleep outside. But as if sleeping outside wasn't enough, the steps were heard at the same time as always.

At the same time, the family of three felt that presence staring at them. Recalling those words from the interview, Ed walked to where his wife was to hear what they were talking about.

"It's useless, no matter where we go." Mrs. Isabella looked helplessly at the floor, trying to hold back tears.

"That thing has been following us all this time." Mateo is furious for not being able to protect his family.

Lorraine listened to all this in silence; she looked at Isabella, Mateo, and their son Orlando, who were also in the meeting.

"We understand your situation completely; these events are normal when marked by something supernatural. Sometimes, when something you can't see pursues you in an understandable form, it's like stepping on chewing gum, so it's always good to go with someone for help." Lorraine tried to explain gently and understandably the situation to this family.

"Now that we have gathered evidence, Priest Anton is on his way here to handle your problem professionally. While he's here, your problems will end very quickly."

Upon hearing these words, Mateo, who was beside his wife, said, "We are not believers and have not been authorized by the church."

Just after saying this, Ed, who had already stopped staying on the sidelines, showed a serious expression and said, "Priest Anton does not work for the conventional church; they are in another association that follows its own rules."

Mateo was impressed to know that there were other associations within this world, so to check if this was true, he looked at Lorraine. "Is it true that this exorcist is not in the church?"

Lorraine smiled gently, thinking of Priest Anton, who worked directly under the association of light and dealt not only with these cases but even more brutal ones. "Priest Anton has been working on these things all his life; he was raised and prepared to solve this kind of case, so wherever evil is, he will always be there to eliminate it."

"Yes, the association of light will never ignore a case like this." The affected family, who believed they would never receive help, looked relieved to know that someone was on the way.

As a result, past noon, the family received the visit they had been waiting for so long.

Anton, who had appeared, left a great impression with the scar on his face and his even stronger expression when speaking.

"Priest Anton!" Ed approached with a smile upon seeing Anton, but his manner of acting was restrained upon seeing three more people besides him.

"Prepare the barrier, Thomas; take care of bringing the equipment inside the house." Anton said immediately after arriving at this house that it had a dark aura around it.

"How is Priest Anton?" Anton improved his expression a bit and said, "Not as well as I would have liked, but at least we are still alive, which is important."

"Thank you for answering our call." Lorraine approached to greet. "Darkness must always be eliminated, no matter the time, place, or occasion."
