CHAPTER 52

Halo stepped out of the luxurious car and onto the red carpet, her designer dress shimmering in the evening light. Alexis had told her at some point King Jamal had been a fan of the color blue and she had decided to wear the royal blue designer dress that shimmered in the evening light. King Jamal waited for her at the entrance of the upscale restaurant, his eyes locked onto hers and he gave her a warm smile.

She could feel her heart beating so loud as she approached. King Jamal offered her his hand and she took it. Halo could have sworn that she felt a spark of electricity as their palms touched.

King Jamal had been so busy that she hardly got to see and hear from him for the longest time. During his absence, she found that she could hardly keep him out of her mind and wanted nothing more than to have him around. His schedule must have eventually freed up because he reached out to her and asked her out on a date.
