Chapter 189: Loki, Do You Know What a Railgun Is?

On the other side, on the streets of New York City, the battle with the Destroyer had entered a stalemate.

As time passed, Earth's fighting force continued to increase. After Sif and the Queen's Knight armor's Mandy, a few more external reinforcements arrived, namely the so-called Warriors Three of Asgard: Volstagg, Fandral, and Hogun.

The three masters, in perfect coordination with Sif, assisted from the side, with Mandy in the Queen's Knight armor leading the frontal attack. The group battle was intense, showcasing various maneuvers that left the Destroyer reeling from one hit after another.

Though the Destroyer was powerful, its attack methods were limited to melee combat and an energy beam sprayed from its face.

There was no third method.

Despite this, the Destroyer's combat effectiveness was not to be underestimated, but the same power depends on who wields it.

Now, it was Loki who controlled it.

As a melee illusionist, this guy was best at illusions and trickery. His frontal combat ability among the Asgardians was quite concerning.

He was neither good at long-range nor close combat.

After figuring out the Destroyer's attack patterns, its threat to the masters was minimized, especially under the combined assault of the five masters, who had already bewildered the Destroyer.

However, this was of no avail. The Destroyer's self-healing and indestructible nature meant it was an unbeatable enemy for the five masters.

With the coordination of Asgard's four masters, Mandy had already unleashed the "Sky General Spear Technique" she learned from Clark on the Destroyer.

After some attempts, Mandy couldn't integrate her holy light ability into the spear technique as Clark said, but after acquiring the Queen's Knight armor, she used the energy from the arc reactor to achieve this effect, albeit through a shortcut, yet the power was remarkable.

Whirlwind Spear, Breaking Wind Spear, Fierce Break, Swift Wolf Raid, Demon God Rush, Dragon Shout to the Heavens, Returning Light Slash, Sky General's Fierce Charge! A series of powerful moves rained down on the Destroyer, dealing heavy damage, but it quickly recovered.

Trying to find a weakness on the Destroyer, but the result was more despairing; it had no weakness! Facing such a Wolverine of war armors, what could Mandy and the others do? They were desperate too! Thor, dragged by Jane Foster to hide in the distance, was itching to help but knew better than to add to the chaos.

After spending so much time on Earth and integrating into human society as an actor, Thor was no longer the hothead who only knew how to rush forward with his hammer.

He understood that recklessness could worsen the situation.

Damn it!

What exactly is my father's test for me? As a king, what must I understand?

On the battlefield, after repelling the Destroyer with another spear, Mandy, though exhausted, solemnly said to Asgard's four masters, "Hold on a little longer; we must keep this monster at bay until Clark returns!"

Sif and the Warriors Three nodded in agreement, gripping their weapons tightly.

"Mandy, a kind reminder, the power source of your armor is an original arc reactor with limited energy. After the recent battle, only 30% of the energy remains," Eir's words fell like cold water on the hearts of the five masters.

Mandy's armor's energy was less than half remaining. Once it was depleted, Mandy's combat effectiveness would plummet.

At that moment, Sif and the Warriors Three would not be a match for the Destroyer!

If facing another opponent, they might consider using the last of their energy in a desperate fight, but against this undying monster...

"Loki!"

Just as everyone was in a dilemma, Mandy decided to use the last of her armor's energy to delay for as long as possible. Thor, finally determined, pushed Jane Foster aside and stepped out from behind cover.

"Loki, your target is me, and only I pose a threat to your ascent to the throne."

As he spoke, Thor spread his arms, a smile of relief on his face, "Kill me, and spare the innocent."

Thor's words seemed to affect the Destroyer, causing a moment's hesitation. However, the Destroyer's "face" windows flung open, and an orange energy beam shot towards Thor.

With Thor's flesh and blood, a hit would likely obliterate him.

Could the power of Thor, even if unsealed, revive him from such destruction?

No one knew the answer, for as the Destroyer's energy beam was about to hit Thor, two portals large enough for a person appeared between them.

The energy beam, as expected, disappeared into the first portal and shot out from the second, back towards the Destroyer.

"Boom!"

A muffled explosion sounded as half of the Destroyer's shoulder was blasted open, but its metal body quickly healed the wound.

After this hit, the Destroyer's attack temporarily ceased, its mechanical form seeming alive as it looked up, only to see Clark's figure appearing above Thor.

"Clark!"

Seeing Clark, Mandy's face lit up with excitement, and she almost fainted from relief.

Eir, already in front of Mandy in mid-air, had cooperatively opened her visor.

Clark lightly tapped Mandy's forehead with two fingers, infusing her with energy that immediately revitalized her spirit.

Affectionately pinching her cheek, Clark said, "You've faced life-and-death battles before, but it's understandable to be nervous facing such a level of opponent for the first time. However, I suggest you use the combat simulation system more to strengthen your training. You can't always be like this."

As Clark appeared and began joking with Mandy, the Destroyer felt the need to assert its presence.

Thus, its "face" windows opened again, shooting another energy beam, which Clark once again deflected with portal magic. This time, the energy directly shattered the Destroyer's head.

Watching the Destroyer heal once more, Thor shook his head, "Uncle Clark, you can't defeat the Destroyer like this. It possesses my father's divine power; only a force of the same realm as my father can destroy it."

As he spoke, Thor stepped forward, "Let me end this war."

Seeing Thor's heroic stance, Clark used a universal attraction to pull him back, then threw him next to Jane Foster.

"Stay cool there."

Meanwhile, Clark focused on the Destroyer, "First, congratulations, Thor. Even now, Loki hesitates to harm you seriously. His target wasn't you, but the ground beneath your feet."

"But..." Clark's face showed a mischievous smile, "Loki probably wants to kill me even more now, considering I made him cry at the airport last time, sending him back lying down."

Hearing these words through the Destroyer, Loki, sitting on Asgard's throne, was furious but remembered the lessons from the previous two encounters. Abandoning the energy beam attack, he directed the Destroyer to charge at Clark.

Clark smiled slightly, swiftly moved beneath the Destroyer, and tripped it with a rejuvenating stick between its legs, causing it to fall face-first to the ground.

Before the Destroyer hit the ground, Clark had already moved beneath it, punching upwards with a force of vibration: "Exhausting kick!"

"Boom!" This time, Clark's vibrational force formed a wave, not exploding instantly but pushing the Destroyer's body straight up into the sky.

The glass on the buildings along the street shattered in a straight line, scattering everywhere.

Then, Clark shot up, punching the Destroyer's back as its ascent slowed.

This punch, truly devastating — Air Shock! The destructive force of the vibration exploded at one point, shattering the air! The Destroyer's body bore many wounds, which then rapidly healed.

As expected, Air Shock couldn't damage the Destroyer, so...

Thinking this, Clark once again transformed the rejuvenating stick into a sword shape, channeling blue energy from the Tesseract in his left hand into the sword blade, then flashed by the Destroyer mid-air.

"Tesseract Space Slash!"

"I slash again!"

"And again!"

"Still slashing!"

"Continue slashing!"

...

In an instant, Clark circled the Destroyer more than ten times, the sword qi tearing the metal body into dozens of pieces.

Yet, the next moment, the Destroyer's pieces were pulled back together, healing instantly.

Still no effect? Clark shook his head, punched the Destroyer higher into the sky, then looked up, "Loki, do you know what a Railgun is?"
