Heart

Amelia looked at Blake who doesn't seem to take her seriously at all. To him, she is as weak as a chicken. Amelia should be angered but instead she finds it amusing to be looked down by a dying man. She took out an inhibitor and gave it to Blake and she put one on herself.

Blake felt he can not use his powers even the mental power that had accompanied him since he was a child. This fresh experience made him feel like a new person and he wanted to test it. He took a spear and jumped into the ring.

He made a few well practiced moves with his one hand. The set of movements seem powerful and refined but one look it is easy to see he is not used to using his left hand this way. However, as the man danced around the traing ground he is getting better and better at handling the spear.

Amelia watched as Blake performed the martial arts technique that is as powerful as a coiling dragon. The sharp sound made by the spear as it cut through the air made Amelia take the session more serious.

She closed her eyes and remembered the set of simple but powerful set of sword technique movements that can be used to allow people to gather internal energy that will allow even ordinary people to be strong and beliver powerful attacks even if their are without special aptitudes or without spirit root.

This is what the normal martial art families in the mortal world use to train their armies. Immortality Cultivation is very expensive and long, further more, it is for the immortality schools and sects in the upper realms.

For mortals it would be good if they can obtain internal energy to protect themselves from fierce beasts attack and various bandits in the mortal world. Being a cultivator is out of reach and can only be a pipe dream for most of them.

Internal energy manuals are in the hands of various mortal organizations and powerful families who train their men to protect their interests and kingdoms. Amelia has these in her hands but she is an alchemist and trained hard on swords and weapons because of her masters urgings otherwise she wouldn't have met her fiance and be deceived in the last life.

She would have amassed wealth and practiced her alchemy for the rest of her life. But her master thought if she went outside she would suffer if she doesn't know anything anout everything else but alchemy.

Amelia picked a relatively easy sword technique. After separating from relentlessly attacking Blake she looked at her solders and frowned at their relaxed and playful attitudes.

"Watch my next movements carefully. If you get it wrong later, you will be punished." Her cold voice made the originally lively atmosphere turn solemn. Most soldiers turned excited and watched carefully.

This technique is tailored for less powerful swordsmen who let the weapon do most of the work while using the opponents weight against them. The army soldiers watch her movements carefully. Luckily she doesn't have to worry about their memory since their mental power was increased.

Blake is surprised she is this efficient at using such a basic technique that she is giving him a hard time. Blake watched this young lady and for the first time he realized he can not see the depth of somesone.

He has always been abke to accurately judge others which is how he was able to prepare for the eventual attack from his family. Now however, as he watched the graceful but powerful attacks delivered by Amelia he can not help but be distracted for a moment.

Her training suite is blabk and tight so he can see her bountiful figure. Although his mind is merely focused on the nimble long legs and the seemingly small arms that can deliver slashes that can push him back even with his heavy weight and sturdy legs. He can not understand why se is somehow peculiar in his observation.

Amelia delivered a horizontal slash and she appeared to his right side knocking the side of his neck with the back of his hand making his body jolt in pain. "You dare be distracted during a sparring session."

Blake put all his misgivings out of his thoughts and became high in alert. Amelia didn't bother to remind him again. The fought and the people watching became dazzled as her own sword began to emit vivid illustrations of a blue wail.

This technique was said to have been developed by a man who only had two passions. Fighting and fishing. He especially went to look for deep sea fishes and liked to contend with the large fishes under water to hunt for the delicious smaller fishes.

The technique showed the agility of a fish under water and the ferocity of a hunter whose prey is about to be snatched by an intruder in its territory.

The mmortal martial arts technique will produce lifelike images the more a person reaches upper height of understanding. This technique is a basic technique, back then it had onlt taken her a little amount of time to completely master it.

The technique is straightforward ruthless it is about the primal need to fill ones stomach and the fierceness of a predator who is preserving their way of life. The process is straightforward and without many twists. However, not many people can understand the will of such a predator.

Blade is not and easy opponent for Amelia as even with a large stature he can utilize the advantage of the distance attacking aspect a spear provides while he is able to perform the originaly flexible moves while allowing it to be powerful enough that is not inferior to a heavy sword in Amelia's hand.

Amelia became excited. She hasn't been able to enjoy a fulfilling fight for a long time. She attack and changed her direction in the air but Blake seems to have seen through her actions and dodged, slashed and stabbed.

The spear would occasionally have small illustrations of a flaming powerful dragon coiling around it and its upper body delivering powerful attacks. This is not the supernatural power but the manifestation of the spear technique that Blake has practiced to high understanding.

The power comes from the flawless execution of the technique added with the state of mind that Blake has achieved during a fight. Mortal emperors use these techniques to train armies and expand their territories.

Being from a different world from Amelia may cause some slight differences but the concept is the same qigong basics. Amelia is really amazed to have picked up a jade in the ruff like Blake. Now she is even more determined to have this man become one of her assets. The world is far from peaceful.

Their fight had began with a fierce atmosphere that people couldn't help but gather around to watch. The training grounds are large and there are long benches on the far end so the former convicts started betting on the fight.

The scene quickly became lively. The fight went on and both parties became drenched in sweat. Amelia is always on the offensive while Blake endured and responds. He is still getting used to the fact that he must use his left hand to fight.

Amelia also felt Blake's mood change. His aura became deadly. His moves which were previously routine and refined became unusually ferocious as if a deadly snake pouncing with precision. His eyes became bright while his body started to emit a black mist. Amelia felt her heart palpitating at this sudden change.

He started on the disadvantage but as the fight went on, it became obvious he really is a warlord who led soldiers to battle. One might wonder about his skill with a spear, but the Empire has been around for so long they have developed many techniques to assist with combating various species they come across in the vast universe.

Supernatural power is not enough to deal with every situation and technology will disappoint at the most inconvenient times. So the schools will provide internal strength techniques and many other techniques on the use of supernatural power but these are of course very expensive.

Amelia realized the more they fought the more the man became proficient in his handling of the spear. It's as if she is being used to train his hand in combat. Amelia is also wearing an inhibitor so she is a normal person now. She eventually got tired and stopped the fight, but she had gained a lot from this one fight so she is very satisfied as she took a tower and wiped her sweat.

Blake could see that she is in a good mood from the fight and wonder if she would be mad if she found out he held back and had in fact got familiar with the left hand in the first 2 minutes of the fight?

"Do you know how the world became like this?" Blake is curious about what happened to this place. Beside her, he is not close to anyone else so he might as well ask her. He just needs to be careful with his questions.

Amelia was just enjoying her own thoughts when she is pulled out by Blake's deep voice. "I don't know."

"Is the world going to restore the government system?"

"Why would anyone want that? There is an alleged imperial family though." Amelia said with little interest.

Hearing 'imperial family' Blake felt slight panic but his face didn't change. "What's their name?" He asked.

"Qin.They are in the western continent and they have taken over several provinces in that region and become absolute power in that part of the country." Amelia said slowly.

Blake calmed his nerves and became amused. Humans will always find a way to gain more power. He decided to change the topic.

"You're living between two places like this, don't you get tired?" Blake asked politely but Amelia is lost in the sea of thoughts as she is eating with a blank face.

Blake "....."

After a long time Amelia finally came back to her senses and remembered something about their spar today. She looks at Blake's wide shoulders with confusion.

"Your mood when we practiced, does it normally change like that?" She asked him because she had just remembered something incredulous.

"About that, I get like that when I fight it's not something I get control." This is part of his family curse. The children with the purple eyes will be bloodthirsty and more fifted on the battlefield than normal people.

"Explain it to me. The feeling." She looked at him with shining eyes.

"My heart rate slows down and I can see the world differently. It has been in my family for a while. You can call it a curse." If the person becomes bewitched by the blood during battle, they can end up losing their minds

"If it helps you fight better why do you refer to it as a curse?"

"Because the feeling is intoxicating. If one is not careful, you may become a mindless killing machine. My family has been trying to isolate the side effects but there is no way. Once you enter into a fight, you need a lot of will power to extricate yourself from the it later. Otherwise the consequences will be dire." Blake explained.

"Does if feel like an intent of some sort?" Amelia asked with shining eyes.

"Like killing intent? Times that by 3 then maybe you are close."

"What about your heart?"

Blake thought for a moment before explaining. "It's as if my heart is calm, but a chilling kind of calm that a human shouldn't feel." The tyoe of indifference to life and death of others. Blake didn't say the last part.

"And this only happens to those with purple eyes in your family?"

"Yes."

"I think I know what is going on. But you might disagree with me. So I will wait until you're cured to confirm it."

Blake didn't take her words seriously at all. This sickness has existed fir several millennial odd years, if there was a solution it would have been found by the universe level class scientists in the past. He went to pick a book on the shelf and sat in the sitting room as he started reading what seems to be a history book.

Being ignored, Amelia went to the lab in the North. When she got there, a man with average height opens the door for her. "Hello, I am Zhu Lan. Zhu Li's twin brother." He smiled at her.

"I'm Amelia, it's good Zhu Li found you, she was worried about you." Amelia said reserved. She doesn't know this man nor does she trust him.

"Leader, you're here?" Zhu Li sounded lively and healthy, not at all like she has undergone a massive information download.

"Old Mo is worried about you. I think he is worried you will be abducted by aliens." Amelia laughed in her expense.

"I didn't find as many things here as I did last time but it has a lot of new information." Zhu Li said with happiness in her eyes.

"That's great. Be careful though, don't over work yourself." Amelia offered kindly.

"I won't, don't worry I know when to stop."

"Did you find my message?" Amelia asked about the prototype of a space barrier she had found in Land of the fallen.

"I did, and I have an Idea about completing it and improving it but my brother is in charge of this, he is more talented in this aspect." Zhu Li looks at his brother who had gone back to typing on his computer with earphones on his ears.

"He is already working on this, I made him work on it as soon as I saw it because of the incident with the spaceship dropping out of nowhere. Where are really not safe like this, what if they turn our ocean into a dumping sight?" Zhu Li shuddered in disgust.

"That is why I want to be protected. I also found another lab and factory where the UN made armor under the prison. Apparently there is a base in the island somewhere full of battle spaceships. However, how strong could they be?" Amelia voiced her opinion.

"We should look for it first before we look down on them." Zhu Li suggested.

"Alright. But I have another matter to take care of these days." Amelia said as her bracelet lit up with a message.

"Someone from the central base have come." Old Mo sent her a text with this statement. Amelia smiled.

"I have to go." She got out of the lab and then teleported outside old Mo's office. She knocked on the door before entering.

"Where are they?" Amelia looked around the office and saw only old Mo so she asked.

"I had them rest in the base hotel with heating and allowed them to take warm baths. Let them enjoy the accommodations of our Jiangkang base before they come to the negotiating table.

"What have the royals been up to?" Amelia thought it might have something to do with the food they stole from the Qin family. It's winter and coming here must have been very arduous unless they have reached high level in space and shadow powers like her people.

Old Mo looked worried. "Word got out that the Jiangkang base has a lot of food and I'm afraid many more bases will be coming to bother us before the end of winter."

"Which family from the central base?" She asked.

"The Su and the Liang family have come." Hearing this, Amelia busted out laughing. This is too good.

"Let them wait for the others." Amelia opened the several monitors all over the base and asked old Mo to keep a close watch over the next few days.

In truth, it was the Qin family that has released the information. Partly for revenge but also to watch a good show. Lu Feng had finally muzzled his grandfather out of the head seat. Now he has to clean up the mess made by his grandfather but he doesn't want to be at a weaker position and apologize to the small Jiangkang base even if the mistake was made by them.

He also sent out people to instigate others to demand medicine from the Jiangkang base. They knew that many people will be dying from sickness such as common cold during this time of the year.

It makes sense that the base that used to be a hospital will have medicine. Many days went by and soon it was the day that Ivy and Amelia to meet. A

"How is it?"

"After taking the mental fruit I feel like I could comprehend better." Ivy said.

Amelia gave her a block of wood. It is filled with poison. "Use the technique to extract the poison from this wood and pour itinto this jar." She sat on the side while Blake also sat a distance from them. He watched the girl try and failed to remove the entirety of the poison from the wood.

"Although you can do it, you need practice so as to build up your confidence. Take it and when you are done, put the wood inside the jar, it is a special plant that likes to absorb poisons so it will be your practice dummy until you are completely confident on your skills."

"Yes leader, I will definitely do a good job." Ivy left.

"Do you think it will work? Your technique I mean." Blake asked. He had accepted his death but hope can not be lost completely.

He looked at this girl with so many things he doesn't understand and realized this is where the hope in his heart came from. It came from the confidence in her eyes.

"I have at least 11 ways to get rid of that poison. You should forget about dying and resign yourself to be my bodyguard forever." Amelia said to him. Blake is stunned in place.

"Talk is cheap." He sneered and went back to reading.

Ivy worked hard and soon she was proficient in the use of the technique and came back to assist Amelia is extracting the poison from Blake. Amelia sat in front of him while Ivy sat behind him. Ivy learns very fast and soon Amelia had showed her how to extract the poison from a living person.

They worked tirelessly with Blake shaken at the sight of the terrible poison entering the jade container that Amelia had prepared. The process is mysterious and complex but for someone with poison control talent, it became less arduous.

A day later the three people slept for a day and a night. After waking up, Amelia gave the girl the last part of poison extraction. It is the part about using the poison to refine a poison body. It is better to not try it until she is at level 11 but the reward was promised and a promise should be kept.

Amelia then took out a silver pill and handed it to Blake. Taking it, his right arm grew and he watched with a complicated expression. She really did it. She cured his poison and even gave him his arm back. What kind of debt is this? How many lifetimes can he use to pay it back?

Another week quietly went by and the number of free loaders in the base hotel increased. The leaders of the expedition were given VIP rooms but their bodyguards were asked pay for the accommodation and food. They also couldn't stay in the same hotel floors

Amelia had done this as a blatant discrimination to sow discord and make the many bases confused. The base is willing to make them stay for free but not their guards and even refuse to feed them as well. The water in their hotel is not hot at times and the floor heating is turned off most of the day.

The guards saw their bosses eat and drink happily while they shivered in the cold. Just as they were about to riot, the Jiangkang base announced the meeting at lunch time. Everyone assumed there will be a banquet to welcome them.

"Hehehe...the human Ape is so handsome with all his limbs intact. Good. Because we have a meeting to go to." Amelia gave him a set of uniforms to choose one that fits.

She put on a formal dress and they walked towards the cold meeting room in the 17th floor. She had instructed her staff to especially turn off the air con

Amelia walked in the meeting room and sat at the head of the table while the large bodyguard stood on her side.

One man couldn't take it and stood up pointing at her with a trembling finger. "You, you have kept us waiting for hours!"

"Miss Bold, you have been out of line for making us wait for you for so long. You have delayed our own business for three hours."

"You have to give us an explanation for what you have done."

Amelia sat down and looked at them clamoring in front of her. "Only three hours? I thought I have made you wait for three weeks." Her words made the men shut their mouths immediately.

Then an uproar ensued as they all spoke at

the same time. Amelia waited until they finished shouting. She looked at them, as soon as she could access information about all the bases she had gathered files of important personnel in nearby large and small bases.

The people she should watch out for are the two families from the central base and S city base owner. He is a high level spiritual power user and likes to torture people with his mind.

"Please tell me why you have come to my base in the middle of winter." She looked at them with a flat expression.

Wang Jin looked at the young girl who doesn't seem very apprehensive about their arrival, this angered him so he probed her using his power. No matter how arrogant she is, he will first pay her back for making him wait for so long.

Amelia felt the man's action as soon as he did it. She let his power enter her subconscious and then she locked it shut. The man stood up and wailed in pain. Having your power absorbed by someone is worse than having your limbs cut off.

Amelia didn't move from her position and watched as Wang Jin's bodyguards became flustered and tried to help him but he had become very aggressive. He put his hands on his head and got up leaving the conference room in haste. If he stayed any longer, he his only disgrace himself even further.

He knew very well that what happened was his own fault but in his head he cursed Amelia for tricking him. Who would think she is a capable person the way she is? Young and beautiful, not to mention how small she is compared to them as men in that conference room?

He felt that, he had lost a lot of face wailing like a banshee in front of so many base leaders. He wants to go back and recover before he can think of a way to get his revenge. But he can't be of any use today with a burning headache and a pair of bleeding eyes.

Amelia hadn't planned on doing anything to these people but that doesn't mean she will allow them to do as they please. She only came here to amuse herself because she knows they will go to war in the end. A group of greedy men will never let her have peace unless she decides to leave the base and hand over everything to them.

Back in the conference room, the people fixed their gaze on Amelia and felt that she had done something to the Wang family's head.

"Can you talk now?" She asked them.

"We heard you have a lot of food. Can you lend us a portion we will definitely pay it back when winter is over." Liu Bai said.

"And feed what to my people? the North wind?" Amelia asked with confusion.

"Miss Bold, we already heard that you have a lot of food in your base, can you to watch all our countrymen suffer while you have so much food to spare?"

"Yeah. We are from the same country, we should help each other."

"We have also come to ask you to give us some medicine, this place used to be one of the largest hospitals in the world, there is a lot of medication right?" Liang Song asked with an arrogant tone.

They had heard the owner of the Jiangkang base is a little girl. When they saw the high wall they each wanted this base for themselves. The moment they saw the larger structures outside the high wall they all had greedy expressions.

After staying here for the last couple of weeks, their interest in this place doubled.

Each of them have their own calculations, but they have all agreed to take this place from this girl and divide it amongst themselves to hide from the winter.

Living here these few weeks they have realized the difference between their bases and this place. Even the whores in the brothels live better than them who are leading large bases. It is simply infuriating to see this sort of thing.

Seeing Amelia watch them as if she is watching a group of clowns. They got angry and one of them got up and slapped the table hard making it crack. He spoke with a domineering tone as if Amelia is a weak chicken waiting for Slaughter.

"We have decided to take this place from you if you refuse to hand over all the food and medicine from this base." Su ping from the central base said arrogantly. In any case this woman doesn't seem very capable. What can they be afraid of when there is so many of them.

"Perhaps if you beg me and become my woman, when our armies come to kill off the people who refuse to follow us I might spare you." The others cursed in their hearts. This Su young master is really impulsive.

"Is this why 5 armies are headed here from four different directions?" Amelia asked them without any concerns. Hearing her, they knew they have been found out but so what? She is just one base leader what wind and rain could she cause with in such a short time?

"Alright, I have amused myself enough. You can all go back to fooling around." She dismissed them as if she is swatting away flies. They wanted to stay and argue but they are really cold in this place. Each of them left in anger.

Amelia made a call and the nine kings came in. "These people want me to give them all the food and medicine in this base or they will storm the city with their armies." She stood up and yawned putting her hand on her mouth. She took out 5 files and give it to them.

"That is all the information on the five bases and their leaders. Deal with these guys however you want. The new winter uniform is available in the storages. Prepare for war." The words are spoken lightly, not at all like she is sending thousands to death.

She took out several blue pills and gave them to the nine kings. "These pills will take away their power for at least one month, find a way to feed all of them these pills including the servants and the bodyguards."

She took Blake outside of the conference room and left to continue sleeping.

The nine kings looked at their leader in astonishment. "There's....a war?"

"Don't disappoint me. Go to old Mo to get the monitoring feed of the armies current position." Amelia said as she reached the door.
