"This jutsu was developed by the Second Hokage, Senju Tobirama, right? There seems to be relevant records in Konoha's history volume 2," Rin said after some thought.
"So it was the Second Hokage, no wonder he could develop such a ninjutsu," Obito noted down the name Senju Tobirama.
Solving both the problems of studying theory and doing exercises at once, Obito acknowledged Senju Tobirama as the Second Hokage.
Looking at Obito's excited expression, Shisui felt that Obito might have misunderstood something.
If it was just because he disliked studying theory and let Shadow Clones attend school, then it was meaningless because the moment the Shadow Clone returned, Obito would experience the same sensations as attending school himself.
"This was told to me by Yumi-sensei," Shisui shook his head.
"Yumi-sensei, you're being biased. How could you not tell me about such a good thing?" Obito looked at Mutsuki with extremely resentful eyes.
Smack.
Mutsuki tapped Obito's head and explained:
"Shisui can use Shadow Clone to attend school because Shisui couldn't learn anything new or find any opponents at school anymore. Would that have worked for you back then?"
Actually, there were some other reasons. At that time, Obito wasn't as enthusiastic about training as he is now.
Obito thought about it and realized he probably wouldn't have succeeded. That time, he didn't even make it to the top two; both he and Guy were eliminated by that Hyuga Kamon.
"Heh heh, Yumi-sensei, I should be fine now, right? I also want to learn Shadow Clone Jutsu," Obito's resentful eyes instantly turned into longing and anticipation.
"Sensei, I want to learn too," hearing about the possibility of replacing the main body for attending school, Guy also felt tempted.
Although he was slow at learning Ninjutsu, it wasn't that he couldn't learn it.
"I'll teach you both tomorrow morning. From tomorrow until the day before school starts, for the next four days, we'll train all day," Mutsuki thought for a moment and said.
Although he had Academy duties, those were almost finished by now. Sending a Shadow Clone over for the remaining tasks would suffice, as there were no courses for him to complete for rewards anyway.
As for why it's four days of training instead of five, because if they use Shadow Clones for school for the rest of the semester, the training volume will increase significantly. Consider that one day as a break before intensive training.
...
The next morning, Obito eagerly headed to the Southern Forest to learn the god-level Ninjutsu in his mind, the Shadow Clone Jutsu.
Mutsuki planned out their training schedule: from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, half of the time for learning Ninjutsu, and the other half for practicing Breathing Techniques. Shisui, who had already learned the Shadow Clone Jutsu would practice other Ninjutsu during that time.
From 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM was break time. They could go home for lunch and take a nap. If they didn't go home, Mutsuki would cook for them. Then, they will train from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM before they had to go home for dinner.
"Rin-chan, I have to remind you not to leave at noon. You must taste Yumi-sensei's cooking," Obito reminded.
Due to timing issues, Rin had yet to try Mutsuki's cooking.
Mutsuki's cooking is just too delicious. Obito often stays here for a meal before returning home to check on his grandmother and rest for a while.
"Does Yumi-sensei really know how to cook well?" Rin asked, somewhat curious.
"It's not about whether he knows how to cook or not. He's just... really special," Obito described incoherently.
"Anyway, I've never eaten anything tastier than Yumi-sensei's cooking," Obito concluded.
Initially planning to go home for lunch, Rin nodded. Obito's description seemed exaggerated, which made her curious. How delicious could it be to earn such praise from Obito?
When it was time for training, Rin set aside her curiosity and began practicing under Mutsuki's guidance.
"When using Shadow Clone Jutsu, you must be careful and not overextend yourselves. For now, it's best if you only create one Shadow Clone," Mutsuki warned Obito and Guy about the dangers of Shadow Clone Jutsu.
The Shadow Clone Jutsu may seem like an ordinary Ninjutsu, but it actually carries certain risks.
To prevent misuse by individuals unaware of their limits, the ability to create a large number of Shadow Clones at once, known as the Multiple Shadow Clone technique, is classified as forbidden.
After explaining the dangers, Mutsuki began the lesson.
The difficulty level of the Shadow Clone Jutsu is classified as B, but among B-rank Ninjutsu, it's considered relatively easy to learn.
After two hours of learning, Obito began forming hand seals to release the Shadow Clone.
"Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
A puff of white smoke, and a prone Obito appeared on the ground.
"Mistake, let's try again!" Obito dispelled the Shadow Clone and attempted it once more.
Another puff of smoke, and a chubby version of Obito appeared.
Fearing Rin might see, Obito quickly dispelled the Shadow Clone, his face serious as he remarked:
"It's no wonder it was invented by the Second Hokage. This technique's difficulty is quite extraordinary, much harder than the Clone Jutsu."
"Hahaha, Guy, what are you up to?" Obito couldn't hold back upon seeing Guy's Shadow Clone.
Beside Guy stood a stone with limbs, continuously exercising.
"Uh, these days, my mind's been all about rocks. It just happened unintentionally," Guy couldn't help but burst into laughter himself.
"Haha, this is too funny. I have to call Shisui over to see this," Obito said, unable to contain his laughter, looking at the captivating stone face.
Konoha's whirlwind!
The stone Shadow Clone launched a powerful Whirlwind Kick, sending Obito, still laughing uncontrollably, flying. Then, it continued its actions of lifting things in place.
"Guy, why did you hit me?" Obito spat out the grass in his mouth and asked Guy.
"It was the Shadow Clone. You should ask him," Guy replied, not taking credit for hitting Obito.
"Guy's Shadow Clone, why did you hit me?" Obito found it reasonable and asked the Shadow Clone.
However, the stone Shadow Clone didn't respond.
Suddenly, Obito realized something: this Shadow Clone didn't have a mouth. How could it speak?
Before Obito could pursue this thought further, Guy dispelled the Shadow Clone.
Mutsuki watched this abstract scene unfold with a twitch of his lips. In this regard, both Obito and Guy were indeed geniuses when it came to Shadow Clone.
"It's time to practice Breathing Technique," Mutsuki reminded them.
As they moved to practice Breathing Technique, the positions changed. Obito and Shisui practiced Flame Breathing together, while Guy focused on Stone Breathing alone.
"Shisui, you won't believe how funny it was just now," Obito prepared to share the recent amusement with Shisui.
"Oh?" Shisui was curious. They had been practicing Shadow Clone just now, and he couldn't understand what could be so amusing about that.
"Earlier, Guy created a stone with hands and feet..." Obito still found it hilarious to recall.
To help Shisui understand better, Obito created a Clone of Guy's appearance using Clone Jutsu, then transformed himself into the appearance of the previous Shadow Clone of Guy.
The Clone in the likeness of Guy scratched his head, looking bewildered, while Obito mimicked the posture of the stone Shadow Clone beside him.
"Your Shadow Clones are quite unique," Shisui had to admit that Obito and Guy were quite good at humor.
As the enjoyable training time passed, it soon came to the mealtime, which all disciples eagerly anticipated.
"Wow, today it's Illusion Mapo Tofu? Rin-chan, you're in for a treat," Obito's appetite surged as he opened the lunch box and saw the dishes inside.
Mutsuki's cooking was always delicious, but there were variations in taste. Illusion Mapo Tofu was one of Obito's favorites.
Rin looked at the bright red in the lunch box, feeling a bit nervous. This seemed too spicy.
"Can't waste food, can't disappoint Yumi-sensei's kindness." With this thought in mind, Rin closed her eyes and scooped a spoonful into her mouth.
"So spicy, but so delicious!" Just with the first bite, Rin instantly fell in love with this dish.
Different from what she imagined as explosively spicy, the spice of Illusion Mapo Tofu was not so aggressive, and it had other equally excellent flavors.
She finally understood why Obito praised Mutsuki's cooking skills so Nohara Rin wanted to learn cooking from Mutsuki now, so she could enjoy such delicious food every day without bothering Mutsuki.
