But just as Thomas's breath was becoming weaker and weaker, there was a loud "bang" from the corridor outside the ward. Yet, Bruce wasn't scared at all, instead, his face wore an expression that read "I've been waiting for you for a long time."
As it is well known, there is a law between Batman and the Joker; the Joker will never allow Batman to be killed by anyone else.
Bruce orchestrated this scenario, bringing Thomas to this point of near-death, all in wait for Joker Martha to appear.
With a "bang", the door of the ward was flung open. Dressed in Joker makeup with a face full of manic joy, when Martha appeared, Bruce's grip tightened slightly.
Martha, who had barged through the door, was equally taken aback.
The second Joker-Batman law states: the stronger Batman is, the stronger the Joker becomes.
What if there were two Batmans?
This is hard to verify since when one Batman encounters another Batman, they usually say "Get out of my Gotham" and make every effort to put this into practice. The chance of encountering each other is close to zero.
However, based on his past experiences, Bruce already inferred the outcome. Previously, there were two Jokers in Gotham; one was Shiller and the other was Jack. So whose presence affected the strength of Batman?
The answer is Shiller.
And now, in Bruce's Gotham, there are two Batmans; one is Bruce and the other is Thomas. So whose existence changes the strength of Joker Jack?
The answer is Bruce.
Based on these two precedents, it is not hard to infer that the Joker's strength should change in tandem with the Batman who shares the deepest bond. Meaning, even if Bruce and Thomas appeared together now, Joker Martha would only change her strength according to Thomas's, because they were married and have been tormenting each other for years.
Of course, this change is gradual and subtle, and not evident up until Batman is about to die. Hence, weakening Batman to weaken the Joker physically isn't feasible.
However, Bruce remembered a particular feeling from the past. When the second Joker Jack appeared before him, Bruce's first reaction was not hatred or fear, but stupefaction.
In retrospect, it somewhat felt like he was contemplating whether he should bind the dynamic difficulty with the Joker in front of him. However, due to Joker Shiller's existence at that time, the answer was obviously no.
Similarly, now that Martha was facing the same situation - two Batmans in front of her, she fell into a momentary daze, trying to identify the Batman she was dynamically bound to.
This brief stupefaction gave Bruce the opportunity to approach Joker Martha. In an instant, the room was filled with the aroma of Mad Liquor, pulling Martha into a dreamworld.
Before, Bruce had divided his personality into three different traits. Now, after clearing some of the "mountain of feces" code, he was capable of having one trait work in the dream while another controls his physical body, just like Shiller.
As such, red-eyed Bruce engaged with Joker Martha's consciousness in the dreamworld, while blue-eyed Bruce controlled his body and began to operate in the real world.
He walked over to Thomas's bedside. By this time, Thomas's vital signs were nearly flat. Rather than starting any resuscitation devices, Bruce took out a tube of blood.
It was Joker Cain's blood.
Bruce pushed the tube of blood into Thomas's body using a syringe, simultaneously activating the Magic Array in the operating room, and an alternative Blood Clan initiation ceremony officially commenced.
The initiation ceremony process is essentially about draining fresh blood from the initiate, then replacing it with the powerful fresh blood from a member of the Blood Clan.
Since the blood from the Blood Clan possesses more strength, they only need a small amount to replace a large part of an ordinary person's blood, thereby substituting their bloodline and completing the transformation of their offspring. That's the principle of the initiation ceremony.
After the initiation ceremony began, Bruce moved to the other side of the bed and directly used his Angel's power to send Martha to his cosmos. When the power of the Mad Liquor dissipated, Martha returned to reality and was faced with a cage crafted from abundant Green Lantern energy, along with Clark, Diana, and Hal who had been notified to guard by the cage.
Meanwhile, in the Flashpoint Universe, a peculiar scene unfolded.
After Martha was transported away, it was as if this universe no longer had a Joker. However, Batman of this universe wasn't dead; he was only undergoing the initiation ceremony,
Bruce was well-aware of one of the peculiarities of the initiation ceremony. During the seven to ten day transformation period, the initiate teeters on the edge of life and death, neither alive nor dead.
According to the first Joker-Batman law, wherever there is a Batman, there must be a Joker. Now that Batman is not dead and the Joker no longer exists, the world's fundamental rule dictates a Joker must be created.
But based on what conditions would a Joker be created?
Bruce is profoundly familiar with this
Firstly, Batman's gaze is requisite, Bruce is currently staring at Thomas, pouring out his emotions.
Secondly, Batman must share an incredibly profound bond with the Joker, Bruce is Thomas's biological son.
Lastly, the Joker needs to have a terrible day. No one in the world is sadder than Thomas, who has come face-to-face with the harsh truth today.
