The Great Hall was buzzing, and everyone was whispering to each other.
Everyone was very upset about the Dementors thing.
Professor Ethan had informed Harry, Ron, and Hermione from the carriage.
So their attitude was still calm.
Hermione stared absently at the empty plate before her, trying to recall what had just happened in the carriage.
Harry and Ron tried their best to comfort Neville, who was terrified sitting beside them.
Dumbledore did not continue to say anything. He waited quietly and let the little wizards vent their emotions.
He was reluctant to let Dementors enter Hogwarts, but this time, the Ministry of Magic's attitude was unexpectedly challenging.
Finally, the auditorium gradually became quiet.
"I can understand everyone's emotions," Dumbledore told the students.
"If you encounter any danger, please look for the professor closest to you immediately."
Hearing this sentence, all the students looked at Ethan again, and they sincerely hoped that when they encountered danger, the professor who stayed by their side had better be Professor Ethan.
"Let's talk about something to make everyone happy." A smile appeared on the corner of Dumbledore's mouth.
"This semester, we will welcome three new professors!" Dumbledore said in a passionate tone.
"The first was Professor Lupin, who agreed to fill the Defence Against the Dark Arts course!"
Lupin stood up immediately and signaled to the students in the audience.
It's a pity that few people in the audience catered to him, and there was only sparse applause. Lupin was dressed in shabby clothes, and his image could have been better and looked more reliable.
Everyone hoped Lupin would be more reliable than the previous two Defence Against the Dark Arts professors.
On the professor's chair, Snape stared at Lupin with disgust, his expression distorted because of the intense emotions in his heart.
Harry, who was sitting under the stage, also noticed this. He stabbed Hermione with his elbow and muttered with Hermione, presumably speaking ill of Snape.
Everyone knew that Snape had always wanted to be a professor of Defence Against the Dark Arts, but his plans had repeatedly failed, and it was clear that Snape had taken anger at Lupin at this time.
"Second professor." Dumbledore paused,
"First of all, I'm sorry to inform everyone that your former professor of the protection of magical creatures, Kettle Byrne, has retired and needs more time to take care of his remaining limbs."
"So the Protection of Magical Creatures class will be Hogwarts' hunting groundskeeper, Rubeus Hagrid!" Dumbledore happily announced loudly.
The applause near the long table in Gryffindor was the most enthusiastic. Harry, Ron, and Hermione applauded with great excitement. It was a big surprise for the three of them that Hagrid became a professor.
There was also sparse applause around the long table of Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, and the little ravens and the little badgers just applauded in response.
The little snakes in the Snake Court didn't applaud. On the contrary, they deliberately made a loud moan to express their protest.
Hagrid was utterly unaffected by Slytherin's little snakes. In his opinion, becoming a professor was already something that only happened in his dreams.
Thinking of this, Hagrid wiped his tears with the tablecloth excitedly.
"Also, this semester, we have added a new subject, Sign Studies. Professor Ethan and his Assistant Professor White will teach the new subject."
As soon as Dumbledore's words fell, the entire auditorium cheered. For most of the students, this was the only good news tonight.
All the students responded with the warmest applause to this news. People are panicking, but Professor Ethan has given all the students the most vital sense of security.
Hermione, Harry, and Ron applauded especially enthusiastically, and George and Fred even set off colorful fireworks in the sky.
Dumbledore saw these things in his eyes and did not stop them. Under the current situation, it is always right to have a little more joy.
"Now that the important things have been said, let's start eating," Dumbledore said lightly.
As soon as Dumbledore's voice fell, the cups and plates in front of every one were suddenly filled with food and drinks, and the hungry students couldn't wait to start a delicious meal.
Unlike previous school opening dinners, this year's was dull and much less lively. The dementor thing was like a big rock pressing down on everyone's heart.
After dinner, Dumbledore asked everyone to go back to the dormitory to sleep, and Ethan returned to his office.
When he returned to the office, Ethan saw several owls parked by the window.
Without exception, all letters were from Fudge.
So many letters only express one message: He asks Ethan to protect the students and never let the dementors hurt them.
Ethan read all of Fudge's letters and had yet to reply. Fudge's situation is not too critical now; waiting until he is desperate is better.
Would I get Fudge's true thanks when I returned to give charcoal in the snow?
There is a paper on Ethan's desk with the class schedule for this semester.
Ethan was depressed that his classes were full, even though his Signs class had been scheduled to start from the third year.
But almost all students in grades three and above took the course, which gave Ethan a headache.
It didn't take long before he had a headache. The door was pushed open, and Sirius, who had been transformed into Jake after drinking the compound decoction, entered.
"White, you have to knock before entering my office! Have you forgotten the most basic manners!" Ethan reminded resentfully.
Sirius shrugged and sat down on the chair opposite Ethan.
"I need a wand!" said Sirius.
For Sirius's reasonable needs, Ethan is one of them.
He rummaged in his drawer, found a gray wand, and threw it to Sirius Black.
This is the magic wand of the enemy that Ethan picked up during the Knockturn Alley battle. I didn't expect it to come in handy here.
"What's this for?"
He held his wand and cast a random lighting spell, only to release a dim orb of light.
"This wand is not for me!" complained Sirius.
"I don't have any extra wands!" Ethan said impatiently.
Sirius had no choice but to accept the wand.
"I still need to find a place to live," Sirius Black told Ethan.
"You can do it as you like; I have no problem with Hogwarts anyway," Ethan said nonchalantly.
"I don't have a place to sleep! I'm not a professor and don't have a dedicated office!" Sirius Black's expression was a little embarrassing.
"It's a pity; I'm afraid it will be more difficult for you to find a place to live," Ethan replied, staring at his timetable while studying the absent-minded Sirius Black.
"I mean, I'm going to live in your office!" Sirius had a showdown.
After completing the class schedule, Ethan said dissatisfiedly, "I don't want to live with a man!"
"I am your teaching assistant! You have to arrange it for me!" Sirius Black exclaimed in dissatisfaction.
"What's the point? I've never heard of such a thing!" Ethan responded.
"You can find those empty classrooms or go to that screaming shack! I heard that's a good place to go," Ethan said to Sirius.
After a fierce quarrel between the two, Black finally won.
Ethan didn't have to sleep, so his bed was given to Sirius.
