Your Best Friend’s here! Part I

Knock! Knock! Knock!

Three rhythmic knocks came at exactly six o’clock in the morning, accompanied by the sound of sparrows chirping in a harmonious but annoying tune to the person who was enjoying his slumber. If the knocks ended at three, it would be acceptable for him. However, it was instead followed by an irritating dance beat!

Eventually, Joke’s tall figure stood up from the bed. His face was a grimace as he headed toward the door before unlocking and opening it.

“I’m here, bro!”

What appeared in front of him was a face full of smiles of his dear darn friend, whose arms were spread wide as if it was such a grand surprise. Despite that, Joke’s face was so expressionless that it could be considered a frown.

“The hell are you here for?”

His voice was veering on the edge of coldness. But it could not be compared to his gaze at all.

“Whoa…Why’re you like that, Joke? Your best friend’s finally here, from Japan. How come you’re acting so cold?”
