In a white-themed hotel room adorned with white flowers, gifts, and many greeting cards, Karina stood admiring herself in a large white gown cinched at the waist, her hair styled in a half updo, wearing gold heels and a series of white diamond jewelry, and jasmine-scented perfume.
"Finally, my daughter is getting married..."
Karina saw her father approaching, then returned her focus to the mirror.
"Don't you know, you're so beautiful. Just like your mother," Adam said again.
"Beautiful only, but not happy," Karina replied with a blank stare. "This is not what I want."
Adam sighed, trying to remain calm despite being saddened by Karina's confession. He knew Karina still harbored feelings for Damian, but it was impossible to pursue him again; it would only make her look so low.
"Tristan is a good man, and he's also the father of that baby, and he can help me manage the company. He can provide better than Damian," he said calmly.
