Roles

After receiving the confirmation from Annie about how she would do just as I asked, I started to look at the three scripts in front of me.

There were three very important roles, each of them being part of a movie which is predicted to be a one of the blockbusters. Each has a different vibes and roles to it.

Hmm, the first one seems to be the easiest and the most normal one. The second seems to be more complicated.

The first role was the role of the protagonist of the movie Everlize. Everlize was a historical, philosophical movie that took the definition of life and death to another level.

The protagonist took the role of death, showing how it was deeper than what anyone may assume. At the same time, it showed the gentleness and warmth death may hold.

On the other hand, the antagonist, who represented life, never tried to understand death. Life was eventually tormented by the doubts, though.

She was sure death was wrong, but at the same time, she saw how people who were alive could suffer as much as the dead people.

The movie concluded in an open ending, where both the protagonist and the antagonist were unable to come to terms with each other.

The last decision of who was wrong, who was right, was in the audience's hands.

This was a remake for that movie with a set full of globally famous actors and actresses. Joining it sounded good, it was also simple. However, there may be a huge backlash from taking this role.

Aside from it being a huge controversial topic, it had already been a famous movie which left a huge impression over the people.

One mistake in my acting would throw me to the pits of hell. Although, it was quite suitable for Mei. I decided to push this role away for now.

In case I found something better, this role wouldn't be ours. As tempting as it looks like.

Once I looked at the second role, I found it more interesting. It was a movie adaption for the famous novel Braskinta.

That novel was about a girl who could see ghosts. Since her childhood, she has had her whole life with ghosts. Only, she wasn't actually aware of that fact.

One day, she brought a beautiful mirror to the house. Once she showed it to her mother, everything in her life had changed.

Her mother's reflection wasn't shown in that mirror, making the girl panic as she just recently heard about how evil spirits may take the shapes of humans.

She didn't doubt her mother's humanity, so she thought someone must've taken her appearance. She took the mirror again and tried to attack her mother as the evil spirit.

Only for her mother to be sealed in that mirror, and their neighbor was the one who pointed it out.

The mirror was a portal to another world. Staying in that world would mean the spirit would eventually die and wither.

Knowing it was all her fault, the girl turned herself into a spirit and went through the world of the mirror, Braskinta, to save her mother.

It was full of action and suspense, everyone would like to watch that. There was also a huge moral value being found at the end of it.

This role was undoubtedly better than the first one.

I already almost chose this one, when I saw the last one and immediately threw the other two aside.

This was just perfect for us.

The story of a young girl who grew up as a boy, eventually starting to love girls. Her father wanted a son, so he even was about to turn her physically into a boy.

Although he tried, the girl ran away from home. But she was so weird in everyone's eyes. They all refused to acknowledge her.

A boyish girl who was clearly leaning towards women's love. What were they supposed to do with her? They were, in addition, living in a small village.

The traditions made it even worse for her.

She had to struggle between her two selves. Should she hide her true self to be normal for everyone, or should she just show herself uncaring of their pointed gazes and fingers?

This was the best of them all. It didn't matter whether it was supposed to be famous or not, I needed this one.

"This one please, I can't see anything else aside from how good it is."

I told Diam and saw him smiling at me. Now that I thought about it for a moment, he was truly skilled to guess the correct debuts options for me.

A true genius who was able to sense the conflict in me.

"Good choice, the other two are considerably risky. I'm happy to see you figuring it out."

Nodding, he took the scripts from my hand.

"Being the most famous has many pros and cons. We could never determine the best attitude to approach them. Especially in a philosophical movie like Everlize,"

He took a sip from his coffee and added, confirming my doubts even more.

"The second one is a great option. However, your body didn't seem to be in a good condition. Given that your sickness has been acting up, those action scenes could only be done by someone else."

I nodded, knowing fully well what he meant, "There is no way a movie like that would be a good debut for me. The whole movie should be done by me, or there would be no meaning at all."

"That's correct, I love smart cookies like you the most," He smiled genuinely and patted my head.

He was truly very sincere, I could only smile back at him.

Mei, you didn't only find one good backer. You found two. And each of them would forever be the best assists we could have.

…So, Mei, please wake up soon to see this.

You're taking so long, dummy. Quickly.
