Managerial Skills

After asking for permission, and confirmation by the other farmers, Elaina received the role to manage the stall.

"Pietro, you should put those goods over there. No, no...move it around that spot. A little to the right. Yep. Right there. Hey, don't display that there, that's too big! Put it on the back where the smaller products won't be overshadowed by this one!"

Elaina began her work and started to bark orders to the other farmers. The other farmers were surprised at first but they decided to agree on Elaina's orders and continue to do their work. Julia pulls their goods and starts to display things around while waiting for Elaina to make the orders on decorating the place.

"Is Elaina always like this?" Marigold asked Julia as she observed Elaina slowly shaping the stall into something worth looking at by the customers.

"You mean, on how bossy she is? If it comes to managing things like this, her bossy attitude comes out. However, she is not harsh about it. She might act like one but she knows what she is doing."

Marigold looked at the process that Elaina was doing to the stalls. Before, the stalls were just being displayed haphazardly like all of the vendors are not part of the team. But compared to before, the way the stalls are forming right now is doing well. It is not yet done and yet, she can finally see how Elaina is trying to form the stalls with harmony and organized look.

Even the farmers who were a bit apprehensive before are now following Elaina's orders as she barks more orders at them. But thanks to Elaina's precise way of managing things and the farmer's excellent job at keeping things precise, the stall that was looking bad before slowly formed into an attractive stall. Even Julia began to decorate the stall as well to make the place look pleasant.

"Julia put the strawberries near the apples. As for the cucumbers, put it alongside the green vegetables nearby. Don't worry too much about them being far, we still have a few vegetables we can put in the middle."

The orders of Elaina continued for a while until they soon ended. It took some time but the process is now complete and now the stalls are looking more pleasant to look at. The other farmers also looked at the finished product and even they couldn't believe the way the stall looked after Elaina had given the orders to redecorate.

"Wow...did we do all this work?" one of the farmers was in awe seeing how pleasantly attractive the stall was this time around.

"Yeah. Just by looking at the stall, I was even tempted to buy to our store as well," one of the farmers is trance looking at the store.

They then looked at Elaina with respect seeing how well the way things look now after she gave the orders.

"Wow...even I wouldn't even think things would look like this after some time. This is just something else."

Elaina wiped off her sweat. Although it hadn't been long since the last time she barked orders to others, she felt happy that she accomplished something immediately.

"Good work everyone. Now, we can only wait for the judges to critique our stalls and have the customers buy our products. You lot should have some relaxation time before the real thing goes," Elaina ordered.

The farmers nodded and they went to their respective areas to finish or clean up the remaining things that were left over from the final decorating process.

Marigold approached Elaina and patted her shoulder. "Wow, Elaina. I didn't expect you to have the skills to become a professional businesswoman. I see you in a new light already!"

"Haha, you are exaggerating, Mayor. I didn't do much. Without the help of the others, it would be not this organized, to begin with. This is just the beginning though. With the judging process still happening, we should take this chance to see if there are any flaws."

Marigold can only smile as she lets Elaina do her thing. After seeing her skills, she is now convinced that there is a chance that they might win after all.

...

...

Around noon when the judges arrived, the customers started to flood in as well and the guards finally gave entry to the customers to venture into the area. After all, this is a bazaar and the customers will be the ones who will help judge the quality and presentation of the farmers to win.

The customers were looking around at first but things suddenly changed when they reached their stall. The moment they saw how well-organized everything was, many of the customers started to ask for the price of the goods. The farmers saw this opportunity and they started to make an enthusiastic approach to the customers.

Elaina also started to pitch in as well on this matter and started to give the customers the prices that were given. As a result, the customers are now flocking to their stalls.

This caused the judges to take notice of their stalls. After all, the customers are now flocking all over them and that is necessary for their judging process as well.

Elaina saw this and immediately started to show off her skills in managing the stall, helping her fellow farmers, and restocking fast enough once the goods were purchased.

The judges were slowly seeing what they were capable of and they began to record their observations. After a while, the judges left and went to other stalls. The judging process is now over, but the customers are surging so the battle is not yet over.

Elaina and the farmers quickly keep their wits as they continue to do everything to keep the customers satisfied.

By the time afternoon arrived and the bazaar progress was over, their stall was sold out and even the big harvest that Elaina carried with her was now gone. All of them are sold to the customers.

"Sorry, sorry! We are all sold out, thank you to all the customers who visited our stall, I hope you all will enjoy your purchases!"

Although many customers left disappointed now that they are sold out, many seem to be happy with their purchases. The customer surge that happened caused many of the farmers to slump on their seats, tired and out of energy.

"Wow...for the first time... we are sold out?" Marigold was totally surprised.

"Yeah. Even I didn't expect this kind of surge of customers. I never dreamed it would be like this in any way possible that my goods would be gone and I won't be seeing any of my goods brought back home," one of the farmers said.

"Heck, I even thought we would be bringing back a few goods back after this. But seeing empty crates makes this a first experience..."

"Good work everyone. That was a nice sell-off. You all did great!" Elaina cheered to the other people.

"YEAH!" the other farmers cheered.

"Elaina-san! Thank you very much for all your hard work as well!"

"Yes! We are sold out and our pockets are full of gold as well. This is just great!"

The farmers gave their cheers after the job and they were happy after all of the work.

"Alright. With the judging process done, you guys can now go home or enjoy the rest of the festivals. You all did great. Tomorrow, the winners of the bazaar contest will be announced. You all should rest. You lot earned it," Marigold happily said.

Julia put back the empty crates into the cart. Elaina looked at the sky and seeing how the sky was clear, Elaina smiled.

"I think it is a good day to enjoy the festival."
