Looking For Clues

That morning, William went to the room of his organization's leader because he had something to talk about. When he was allowed to enter, the man immediately went inside and faced his leader.

"Mr. James, I have something to ask you," he said.

"About Amanda?" asked James.

He had heard reports from the database system guards that William had accessed all the data under the pretense of doing maintenance when he knew that it would not have been his part if James had not told him to touch the system like during the hacker attack a few weeks ago.

"Yes, you said that she was transferred to another base, but her agent status shows that she is no longer active because she resigned. Why did you lie to me about that?" asked William.

"Isn't it much better not to tell the truth? If I say she resigned, you'll surely find out the real reason."
