Chapter 119 - Azur Lane Side

Don't you think this is quite an irony of a situation?" Jalter said with a grin. "Fighting on our home soil and against an army consists of our countrymen. Also, you yourself are participating as an invader." Jalter glances over to the side and sees Jeanne with an expressionless face as she glances over the soon to be battlefield between Britain and NATO forces.

Jeanne stayed silent for a few moments before she opened her mouth to retort Jalter.

"I am here not to spill unnecessary bloodshed. The faster we resolve this war. The lesser the casualties would be. This war is unfortunately a necessity." Jeanne said and frowned at her own words but her resolve did not falter.

The people she is fighting against are misled and strayed from the proper path. They are at the verge of destruction from the Siren yet they would reject the KANSEN that is fighting for their sake. They rather believe in the lies spread by their puppet leader. So, between the destruction of humanity and killing a few to send a message. The answer should be clear.

"Well, yeah. I don't really care who's fault it is. But from the day Master took me in. I resolved to follow him rather than the fake vengeance Gilles put in me when she created me using the grail. All I care about is that they are Master's enemies." Jalter said with a dark flame of vengeance gleaming in her eyes.

Jalter is still an Avenger Class Servant after all and Avengers are very single minded when pursuing revenge on the people that wronged them. In this case, those people that wronged Adam and undermined his effort to save their world.

"Yes. Our Master did his best in humanity's interest. Yet they are spitting on his effort." Jeanne replied with a deeper frown and disappointment. "Then it is our job as Heroic Spirit to steer humanity back to the correct path."

On the Orbital Fortress.

"The preparation is done. It's time for the war to begin." Agent declared solemnly as her head hung low before she lifted up and scanned at the Command Room filled with her dummies and few shipgirls working on the terminals.

The large screen shows the army of NATO arriving on the battlefields. With a quick order, the Orbital Fortress deployed the TSF army through orbital drop. Directly on the NATO forces.

"Multiple missiles detected, aimed at our friendly force."

"Intercept them using the auxiliary cannons and order the ground force to focus the AA capable units to shoot down the remaining missiles." Agent ordered.

"A transmission from the US President."

"Put it on the screen." Agent ordered with a snort.

Immediately, the screen display was replaced with the face of an older man with partial greyed hair looking way past his prime. The president had an arrogant look of confidence as he addressed the Agent.

"This is our last warning to you terrorists. Surrender right now and face a lenient punishment or continue fighting and face the wrath of the whole western nations."

"Wrath of the whole western nations? You are overestimating yourself, you pathetic excuse of a human, puppet of the shadow organization. It's you who are ignorant. Why should we surrender to mere insects?" Agent replied with an expression face but her words and tone are filled with contempt and disdain. If she could spit on the president's face. She would already do it.

"Let me return your warning. Surrender right now and face a lenient punishment or continue fighting and face extermination. I will make sure to uproot every single one of you, the enemies of my Master." Agent said before waving her hand to signal to cut the transmission.

At least the enraged look of the president is pleasant enough to make Agent's lips curved up a little and smile slightly.

"A mere million of flesh and blood soldiers with outdated technology against us? It's a pipe dream to win against us." Agent smirked sadistically.

(Random NATO military officer PoV)

Morning of 14 March. At exactly 7 AM sharp, order came from the top that the battle would begin.

According to the intels, the enemy force consisted of only UK military forces that had yet to recover after the civil war and the coalition of Anti KANSEN nations which majority were smaller nations with little military forces to begin with.

On our side, we have the military behemoth that is the USA and NATO committing everything without holding back to support the war against the unnamed terrorist group that had seized the UK and the rogue KANSEN coalition.

At the beginning of the war, thousands of missiles had already been launched to deal with the rogue KANSEN and also the Air Support that will follow afterwards to soften up the enemy before the ground force will plough through the enemy lines using blitzkrieg tactic to rush in with armoured units.

However, where did everything go wrong? Weren't we the ones that have superior military backing? Where are the missiles? Where is the Air Support? What are those things falling from the sky?

I cannot even make sense of anything. Few minutes prior we were still going strong, waiting for our cue to launch an attack on the enemies. But at the present, our forces were partially decimated.

The massive fortress-like pods dropping from the sky aimed at most of our main attacking forces. Those pods exploded mid air and rained down explosives that turned its target into a pile of charred flesh and metal scraps. As if that isn't enough, what's emerged from the pods are giant robots. An army of giant robots with the agility of an aircraft and the power of a battle tank, descended on us and mercilessly butchered everyone and everything.

I didn't even notice one landed in front of me and aimed its massive rifle at me and my unit. Everyone is petrified by terror. A vastly superior military force. So superior that all they can see is an abyss-like gulf dividing us and the giant robots.

"By the gods. Who had we offended? Terrorist? What kind of terrorist group is this?" The soldier behind me mutters before he breaks out into a laughing fit, he goes insane.

"This is a bad dream… it has to be! Hahaha! It's just a bad dream… This is a fucking nightmare! Ah!"

The robot immediately opened fire and sprayed its massive cannon and turned my entire unit into a bloody mist.

I felt sleepy. My body felt weightless. I can't remember. I don't even know what I was doing anymore.

"This is just a bad dream." I muttered before closing my eyes as my severed body fell to the ground before everything went dark.

(The Field Commander PoV)

"What? Our forces had been annihilated…?" The Commander fell to the ground as his leg went weak.

He saw how the battle unfold. All it took was ten minutes. In the short span of ten minutes, everything turned into hell. There is no better way to describe the aftermath of the battlefield as anything other than hell.

They never had the chance. Those giant robots decimated the whole army that NATO fielded in less than two minutes. Not only does it carry immense firepower that each individual one could destroy an entire tank division. They are also very agile with a propeller similar to a jet and a pair of jet wings on its legs.

Once the battlefield was cleared up, the thousands of giant robots split off and flew inland, toward the capital and other nations.

The Commander reached a horrifying realisation. Their opponent had always had the might to decimate them. They just never did it.

"Could it be… we had been wrong the whole time? They are really fighting for humanity and we are the real enemy that tried to stop them… Ha… Hahahah!"

"We… We had committed a grave sin and there's no going back from this." The Commander mutters with an insane look on his face before he reaches for his side arm and propped it on his temple. "I'm a fool for not realising this earlier… Those lies they fed to us." He said before he pulled the trigger.

Just as he fell dead. The HQ was stormed by a group of TSF mechs, cleaning up the rest of the battlefield. The Commander rather have an easy death by suicide than suffer under the brutal TSF's attack.

———

On American soil, the war that they thought was far from their shore actually arrived on their doorstep.

Multiple pods carrying TSF landed on most major military bases and the capital, Washington. The military force they were so proud of was crippled and decimated in less than an hour.

The cowardly politician dogs were scrambling to save their skin and were unaware that their fate was sealed. Agents have no intention of taking hostages or negotiations. The purpose of the war is to send a message and there's no clearer message than the entire White House and Pentagon getting obliterated by a pillar of beam from the sky that not even a speck of their dust left behind and left behind a bottomless hole.

———

The so called war was nothing but genocide at this point. The boastful leaders had been killed and left behind a deep scar on the western world.

The so-called grandest war since World War 2 didn't even last a day. It tasted merely an hour as the whole world watched how NATO got annihilated. Agent purposely didn't cripple their communication for this purpose.

To show how utterly ridiculous it is to fight against them. To teach the world what will happen if they cross the line. And finally, to teach them what will happen if they provoke the sleeping dragon.

After the farce of a war, the Western world surrendered and subjugated themselves to Adam. With their entire military obliterated, the western nations were nothing more than chicken waiting to be slaughtered.

They have no military, no more government and no more nation. Agent declared so. From today onwards, they are nothing more than a colony. Fallen nations that will be ruled by an Agent who is the proxy of Adam.

Her first act was to root out the shadowy organisation consisting of powerful families and groups which she publicly executed and showed to the world, the true instigator of the pointless war. Her action did well to direct the hatred and animosity of the victim of war to the real criminals which made her easily accepted by the people later as she immediately showed what happened to those that followed her Master as she reformed the people and developed those territories.

In the span of half a year, the war-scarred western nation's turn colony had become the capital of futuristic advancement and centre of industry as she integrated the numerous technologies to turn the colony into a place worthy of her Master's rule. A gift that she will present to Adam upon his return. A futuristic country, over 100 years ahead of its time.

Of course, seeing how prosperous the colony became. The hesitation of the other nations under the Pro KANSEN alliance vanished and more accepting of cooperation with the Agent.

Finally, the world is united under the Azur Lane coalition that constitutes the KANSEN and humans. With their newfound unity, they now can focus all their effort on fighting the ever growing threat of Siren which now expanded their influence over 40% of the ocean with mirror seas.

(Bonus)

"Damn those robots! I didn't get to taste the battle! Why do Agent even bother including us in the battle?!" Jalter scowled angrily with a drunken face while chugging down a bottle of expensive whiskey.

"Hmn, Mrs Agent said she didn't expect our enemy would be that weak." Siegfried replied while wiping a glass dry while wearing a bartender outfit behind the countertop of a bar.

"Damnit! Damnit! Damni! It's unfair! Winter got some action while I just dumbly stood there and did nothing! Nothing! Hic!" Jalter lay her head sideways on the countertop while crying over the unfairness. "I want to also be useful for Master. But I can't do anything outside of battle!" She continues to cry over the matter while Siegfried could only sigh helplessly while Jeanne continues to console her twin sister.

"You think the Master will hate you over simple things like that?" Jeanne asked with a faint, devilish scheming smile on her face.

"N-No… he wouldn't. That's the damn issue. No matter how useless I become— Hic! He wouldn't hate me. But I hate being useless!" Jalter cried.

"Humm… Well, indeed there isn't much you can do outside of battle. However, there is something you can do. You are also his wife, are you not?." Jeanne asked, which received a nod in reply. "Then the answer is simple. It's also the wife's duty to tend to her husband's needs. If you can tend to his needs better than Agent and Winter, wouldn't that make you not useless anymore?"

"Right! That's it! There is still something I am better at!" Jalter stood up and ran away, saying she wanted to learn and improve her skill or something.
