Just as Leng Le had anticipated, Gu Ling was unable to run any further, and Gu Fan was seeking a taxi. He needed to get Gu Ling out of this area as quickly as possible, the further, the better.

Out of options, Gu Fan made a call to book a taxi. The feedback he received indicated that there was a taxi nearby, which would be dispatched immediately for pick up.

Gu Fan was elated. As long as he could hold on until the taxi arrived, it would be tantamount to safety.

In merely five minutes, the taxi arrived. Without thinking, Gu Fan and Gu Ling climbed in, asking the driver to head to a location known for its security. They chose this believing it would be safer.

Meanwhile, Su Hui and Lin Xi arrived at the old house almost simultaneously. They found their boss and Qian Feng leisurely watching TV on the couch, with faces that seemed to have been waiting for them for a while.

Lin Xi furrowed her brows. From the looks of it, the boss and Qian Feng had aligned, and that didn't bode well.
